Danguolė and her husband are the most welcoming and kind people we met during our stay in Lithuania. They made us really feel at home! The hotel is super cosy and nicely located in the nature of Ignalina. Facilities are great.
They helped us finding a guide for a presentation about the Ignalina Power Plant (since we were not able to join the ‘real’ tour) which was exactly what we needed.
Everything was perfect 😍

The location was the best thing, just in front of the town's main public beach.
1. There was no air conditioning in the room. We stayed two nights on a weekend with more than 30 degrees both days. It was a pain to sleep in that heat, especially considering that our room overlooked the main access road to the town's public beach, and we had to cover the window with the curtains to protect our privacy, keeping all the heat inside.
2. The sound insulation is also very poor, to the point that you can hear guests in adjoining rooms plugging in their devices, or even flushing the toilet.
3. The room is very basic for a 4-star hotel, and lacks amenities such as a mini-bar type refrigerator (there is a general one at the front desk), no kettle (there is a general one at the front desk), rooms were not done on the two days of our stay, no toiletry kits, no shampoo and shower gel (in the shower is the same hand soap as there is in the sink).
4. The breakfast is not included in the price of the hotel, and it costs 10 euros per person per day and from the photos shown at the time of offering us that possibility it was not worth paying for it that amount of money. I mention this because at the time of paying for the stay we were offered (if not pressured) to include the price of the two breakfasts in the total price and we had to refuse this offer 3 times.
5. The internet did not work in the best way, having to use mobile data for a better connection.

The owners of Lake and Library made our stay the absolute best of our holiday in Lithuania. We were welcomed very warmly plus the room and the whole hotel are designed with great taste. Speaking of taste, the breakfast on offer was excellent indeed. It was my birthday on our last day and the owners went above and beyond to make my birthday breakfast special. Also during our stay they organised our visit to the Nuclear Power Plant. As you can tell, the owners are very friendly and they do whatever they can to make your stay as memorable as possible. The location is also very ideal for biking or walking around the lakes and forests that surround Ignalina. Therefore I would wholeheartedly recommend you to stay here.
N/a. Everything was great.

This hotel was one of the best we've ever been. I actually felt a little bad when we had to leave. The hotel surroundings are great, you can walk right to the little beach with a lot of facilities for children. The hotel itself is só cosy, clean and the room is more than big enough. Bed was good, bathroom also very good. Gets a little wet when you take a shower. The owners are really, really kind! They try hard to make you feel at home at their place. Her English was really good, but he also did his very best. When we were there the power went out (nothing they could do about), and they handled it really good. Did a lot of extra things so we would be comfortable during our stay. And then the food.. breakfast was made fresh for us daily, and we also had dinner. Simple, honest food that tasted really great. This hotel was everything we hoped for and more. Thank you for our lovely stay!

Beautiful setting, cozy and inviting, clean and spacious rooms, delicious breakfast. Helpful and caring service, was advised about activities around and owner helped organize water equipment. Very relaxed atmosphere, rooms well equipped and we had our coffee outside every day.
Location, while being very convenient and beautiful, is not very private. Breakfast is delicious but could have more choice. Cafe is only open for breakfast so couldn’t have any other meals or even a coffee there, although the standard instant coffee and kettles where provided in the rooms.

Very nice property, comfortable bed and clean and nicely decorated room. Location was good to go for hiking. Very welcoming and helpful owners. We used the possibility to enjoy the sauna (good ‘löyly’ and great view to the lake!) on the day we left, and we were able to check out later.
Small towels and cover on the bed.

The rooms are cheerful, pretty, clean ànd comfy. The staff was very efficient and friendly, food was very good! The structure itself is quite new and therefore well kept and solid. The location was incredibly beautiful, access to the lake was easy and the lake while breathtakingly beautiful was warm and welcoming. There's a big enough stretch to accommodate enough people so we were never crampt.

This is a beautiful little boutique bed-and-breakfast on the shore of one of the lakes in the Park area. So right off the bat, the setting is wonderful. It's very nicely decorated. Danguolė and Arturas are excellent, kind, and attentive hosts. They picked me up at the train station when I arrived, and took me back to the train station when I left. That was very kind of them. Danguolė also made me a bowl of šaltibarščai as a gift, and it was quite the best I've had in Lithuania so far.
My room was large, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was great. You're close to one of the two restaurants in the area, Romnesa, and not all that far from tourist central, Palušė. The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, everything was clean. There are books everywhere, which is why it is called lake and Library. Danguolė provided plenty of information about the area. They allowed me to keep my rental E bike in the room for safety's sake, even though theft is not much of a problem there.
Maybe there's a better place to stay to see Aukštaitija, but I can't imagine what it might be.
I have not the slightest complaint about anything.

Had to wait an hour before someone came to check me in. Bed very uncomfortable. No place to sit in room.

The staff of the hotel was absolutely great - very attentive to our needs, intelligent, subtle, good sense of humor. Breakfast was very delicious, had good variety - eggs, ham, vegetables, very good coffee. Rooms were very well adapted to the needs of customers, but also included very nice designer's items - unique furniture, lamps, decorative objects and artworks.
Parking places are not many and difficult to find on your own, especially in the evening. Some guiding signs could be useful.
