We stayed during Songkran Festival so amazing location as we could see what’s going outside from looking out the windows.
We have stayed at this hotel for countless amount of times for the past 15 years (at least) whenever we visit family in Khon Kaen. I’m not sure if the prices of the room reflect the use of the facility and the service anymore as the hotel is now so dated. The cleaners took between 5-10 mins to fully clean the room and spent their times chilling, filling their nails or watching TV in other empty rooms while waiting for you to vacate - quite unprofessional.
There were only 2 sun beds out at the poolside and they were broken so could not be used unless you want to risk being injured.
Would really like to see some improvements at the property if we visit again next time as it would be a big shame to have to go elsewhere after 15+ years of supporting the business.

The breakfast is probably one of the best in the city if not Thailand
The removal of the escalator having already walked up a hill to get to the hotel one now has to walk up a fairly long escalator to get into the hotel.
The internet becomes impossible to connect to from about 6pm.
The air conditioning was causing me to wake up during the night short of breath (I am very healthy and I do not drink alcohol) but luckily the window opens so that saved the second nights sleep such as it was
The first room I was given was so basic it had a “concrete” mattress and the type of television I had not seen for for about 30 years, I was scared to turn it on for fear of what it might do, After complaining one was moved to another room which had a slightly less hard bed and a flat screen TV , waow, however one would definitely not say it was an upgrade as two nights in this room was more than enough, a third would have resulted in a serious back problem.
The lobby is not what it used to be, comfortable, vibrant but relaxing, a good place to read the supplied daily paper ( Bangkok Post etc) but now there are no papers and the lobby just looks cheap, which saddens me as ones previous stays were always very good, and one always felt that this was a real 4 star hotel but not this time.
one used to to stay at this hotel every time on my multiple visits every year to Khon Kaen but on future visits one will be staying elsewhere sadly.

Property is old but staff and cleanliness were quite good
We were allocated a "Deluxe Room" - wardrobe for hanging clothes had a door missing- interior light on all night effecting sleep- safe for valuables had no locking mechanism.
