Uitzicht
Ontbijt was elke dag hetzelfde. Maar je kon gelukkig ook zelf iets maken in je eigen keuken.

Breakfast was excellent and we loved eating on our terrace.
They used a pesticide on the terrace (which I assume most places do in the tropics) but they used it even though we had some of our things on the terrace and our door was open.

The room exceeded our expectations - it was much bigger in real life than the pictures showed. We stayed on the top floor with our two young children. The hotel provided a cot and blow up bed for them - and there was plenty of room for us all. The views from the balcony from this floor were breathtaking - breakfast was delivered each morning (or evening if like us your kids are up early!) Nothing too much trouble for the staff. The place was quiet - and away from the noise of the town but close enough to walk to it.
We paid a premium as we stayed over NYE but prices are pretty high on Holbox. It would have been great to have a restaurant/ bar but there were plenty near by and you could by a beer from reception. The breakfast was quite small for our family - but they brought extra at no extra cost for the young kids.

Beautiful location on quiet part of the beach. Room with two queens was great for a family of three. Enjoyed continental breakfast and coffee from the pot in our room out on the beach each morning. Loved hammocks and shaded lounge chairs.
No internet and intermittent reception was a little difficult. Hotel restaurant recommendations were a little out of date. Chapulim was closed. La Sirinita was only ok. Would suggest adding Santos Fuegos which was delicious and is right nearby. More information in English in the room or via WhatsApp app about island history, ecology, and things to do would be very nice.

Same breakfast every day.

I would suggest to add some basic kitchen utensils, such as open bottles for wine, for glass bottles, open cans. 👍🏻

All comfort is there and kitchenette was useful to cook for our baby
Limited breakfast and a bit further from center of Holbox, low flexibility in the booking after our flights changed

Everything is a dream. Tasty decorated, cosy, relaxing, very good cleaning service, attentive staff, cute cat, every detail is well thought
That there was wifi in rooms but luckily o found some signal coming from reception

I loved the aesthetic of the rooms and the beauty of the grounds. Everything was so peaceful and inviting.
The toilets are very low flow and would often get clogged.

We had the beach front bungalow which was really nice for the few and easy access to an almost private beach. Loved that it was a little further from the center but still good to walk. It was clean.
There is no WiFi anywhere on the property besides the reception, not necessarily a bad thing but good to know. The cleaning crew do not change your bedding or towels every day, not an issue but not even if it’s dirty. I threw a towel on the floor because my son made a mess and needed to clean it up. They picked it up from the floor and just hang it back in the bathroom. Staff is okay but not very knowledgeable.

It was beautiful, super clean, comfortable bed, beautiful view & loved the fresh fruit, homemade granola & yogurt for breakfast. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. It was quiet & a short 10-15 min walk along the beach to the center
I loved listening to nature’s symphony of the birds & the sound of the ocean.
Nothing, everything was fantabulous

Incredible location, beautiful building and lovely rooms.
The breakfast is quite simple - it was nice and we were happy but if a big breakfast with lots of choice is important to you you might be disappointed.

Eco friendly, in a quieter location and large room
breakfast was ok but lacked variety and being delivered at 8.30am allowed little flexibility and often had cold toast.

Super spacious, clean, bright and just perfect. Amazing view. Amazing beachfront location.
All good

The hotel is on the beach, towards the quieter end of the island but it’s walkable to town (though can feel like a long walk in the midday heat!). The best bit is that you can stumble onto the beach in a few footsteps. The room we stayed on (first floor) was a little dark but frankly that was lovely after a day in the sunny beach! It feels like a charming and homely place. (Also, if you like animals, the Refugio / animal shelter is a short walk and you can help them walk their dogs every day. We loved this so much.)
All of the pros above could probably also be cons for some I think! the only other real drawbacks were poor water pressure (but that’s an island wide issue!) and the breakfast — which delivered in a beautiful little basket — is continental so wasn’t quite to our tastes. No pool to cool off in, but you have the ocean for that. But no real cons!

We loved the breakfast of warm bread, handmade granola, yogurt, and handmade jam. We could cook anything we wanted in our ample kitchen, but really just used it for coffee and cocktails. We loved that there was a purified water tap instead of those big plastic jugs. We stayed in the penthouse suite which was amazing. The pictures online don’t do it justice. You feel like you’re living in a treehouse with an ocean view. I spent early mornings having coffee in the hammock enjoying the view and birds. The space is huge and modern looking with gorgeous, hand crafted furniture. There were small touches that made it extra special like a beach bag to use to go to the beach, a cooler that they will fill with ice for you to take down to the beach for your cold drinks, bathrobes, and artisanal, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap. Our beach had shade palapas and very comfortable padded loungers spaced far apart for a little privacy. The hotel is in the perfect location for us. It is a leisurely 12 minute walk from town and is in a quiet location free from loud music from beach clubs. The sunset right out front was amazing every night that we were there. We rented bikes and drove around entire island from one end to the other, and did not see anything that we would have preferred.
The only inconvenience sometimes was the wifi. It is only available in the lounge area near the office. We were trying to unplug anyway but when we needed to look something up or check email we had to do it from there.

The room was quiet spacious (we were on the ground floor) with a veranda outside. The house sits in a beautiful garden with white sand and an own beach excess. There are several very comfortable sunbeds at one of the most beautiful parts of the beach. It is more a more quiet part of the beach with less people, which was very nice! If you like DJ and cocktail service, go somewhere else but if you like quiet, always a free sunchair and not crowded, go here!! There are serval restaurants in walking distance and it's also no problem to walk into town (we did everyday even with our 2 year old).
Breakfast could be some more, but you can always ask for some extra granola or joghurt.
3.5
Location of the property is great: peaceful beach and nice 15 minutes walk to restaurants. We stayed at the penthouse which was spacious and had nice balcony with partial sea view. I like they are interested in environmental things and have mangrove trees and they recycle waste. Nice sun beds and umbrellas on the beach.
Casa Takywara is overpriced. For that amount we paid I expected more. Towels were dirty (black spots or big yellow stains), not water warm enough, beach full of sea weed (they don’t clean the beach area at all), no closet or even clothes rail (had to keep clothes in a suitcase or on the couch). The breakfast was good but bread always hard and try (pre-baked), yoghurt portion just tiny and no juice (even if we asked). The weirdest thing is that they bring it to your balcony every morning in same time (8.30) doesn’t matter if you want to wake up that time or not.

this is a small little resort on a very quiet beach. It is low key and laid back. We loved it and all the staff we encountered were very helpful and always happy to help.
just a word of caution for senior folks who are thinking about the penthouse. It is beautiful but as as a senior couple we found the 32 steps spiral staircase a bit daunting. Having said that we stayed in the penthouse and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good exercise!

Personal Great, Staff isn't interested!
Room almost perfect except from noise late at night and bathroom next to reception
Don't know if it's usual but one night couldn't sleep until 03:00 hrs because there was loud music from a hostel (?) somewhere in the neighbourhood.
Absolute not done; Management asked $ 50 pesos !!! for broken tequillaglass. Room charge $ 4000 per night! Great service

Quiet location, breakfast was nice and at the room, staff was very friendly and helpful.
Wifi was only around the reception area, and most of the times not working.
