Very nice place. Old caste is super charming. There are plenty of trekking routes in the area. You can also walk to the nearby town to the bakery or a restaurant. It's also conveniently located close to Carcassone and other interesting villages in the area. I have seen complaints about the road to the place, but there are actually two roads leading to it - one in the middle of the vineries is a bit rough and might require lower speed and some skill, but the other one is perfectly fine.
Very good breakfast.
Paper-thin walls, you can hear the people next door as if they were in your room.

I cannot fault our host for the welcome we received or for the delightful breakfast we had the next morning. It has taken us some considerable time to find a way to express what we did not like because our welcome was one of the best we enjoyed all of our extended holiday in France.
Oh dear! - I have not had to write a review before where it was essential to be both honest and constructive but yet be negative about so many aspects. The photos were clearly accurate but omitted so much of what we found to be off-putting once we got there. The Chateau is situated in the middle of a wood but only accessed by an extremely rough farm track and it was touch-and-go whether our car would get there without `bottoming`. The woods completely hem in the property and there is very little flat space around it. To offer rooms with "Garden View" really is not correct if your idea of a garden is something that has been looked after and planted with shrubs or flowers - it would be more accurate to describe the rooms as having an arboretum view (photos attached). We were the only guests but were put in a room 3 floors up in a tower that would have been better suited to Rapunzel who could at least have hauled her cases up without the exertions of so many stairs...why did they do that if there were other rooms with no guests? Those rooms may well have been better appointed but I can only now comment on what we experienced. On our arrival it was explained that the Chateau was under renovation and it had been slow. Indeed it was. The room we had did have a well-renovated modern bathroom but nowhere to put the toilet roll! The bedroom had a significant covering of cobwebs and was nowhere near renovated with walls in a poor state and with peeling woodwork in many places along with cracks in the walls/plasterwork and the turret room off the bedroom was in a similar condition. The impression when we were told the room from time to time has bats or birds in residence did nothing to help and neither did the light fittings with more burned-out bulbs than lit ones. I am sure that in a couple of years and after a lot of work this Chateau will be a delight - but as was admitted it falls quite a way short of complete and not good value.

The chateau had lots of character and was in a very peaceful location, yet not far from many interesting places to visit. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful with fabulous places recommended to eat and visit and information regarding local events.
The Wi-Fi connection only had a good reception in the main lounge, which was not a problem, but it would have been nice if it had been able to connect in our room.

Beautiful tranquil setting and a wonderful mix of old-style chateau and modern bathrooms and outdoor pool.
Nothing we didn’t like; although the bumpy drive way could do with leveling to protect cars underneath!

Breakfast was good- all fresh bread and pastries and bottomless coffee.
We announced upfront that I was temporarily disabled and require unhindered access. I couldn’t cope with the stairs up to the 2nd floor and they kindly gave us a first floor room. The stairs were challenging. However, the landlady realised I couldn’t cope and assisted with cancellation of the stay. Booking.com was also amazing in the manner they resolved the matter- thank you!

Superb breakfast with eggs, croissant, fresh baguette in an elegant dining room with crackling fire in the fireplace. We visited in the autumn but the pool must be sensational in summer months.
The location is a bit isolated and rustic but that was to be expected.

Very interesting conversation and moments. Literature, art, permaculture, all interesting ideas. Also having dinner with all the persons was nice
The garden could be cleaner and more attractive. but this is minor

A beautiful family environment where the welcome was very warm. The host is super friendly and made us feel at home. Really nice breakfast with home made jams and yogurt. Beautiful pool area, and nice walks in the fields nearby. The location is great and there are any things to do and lovely restaurants at short distance.
The beds could be more comfortable.

Isabelle is a wonderful host , her home-made jams are « to die for ». The castle is very quaint, decorated stylishly and ideally situated near Carcassonne. Definitely a great place to stay , rest, visit the area and enjoy yourself!
Thank you Isabelle and your lovely family ! Isabelle went above and beyond, leaving us some space in her fridge for our elderly dogs’ food, allowing me to heat up his meals in the microwave. Definitely made our stay memorable !
