We book 7 nights only during June - August, Saturday to Saturday. You are welcome to email us if you'd like to request a shorter stay. The $570 property fee cover a refundable $500 security deposit and a $70 accidental rental property damage coverage of $3,000. We cover the 3% credit card processing fee.
The home is situated on a 1.24-acre property in a quiet neighborhood of half a dozen homes. It is constructed of 14-inch diameter hand-peeled logs, creating a cozy and rustic lodge atmosphere. The deck offers a 220-degree view of the lake, unobstructed by houses and framed with attractive hand-peeled log railings.
Roxane's favorite thing is sitting on the porch and listening to the water peacefully lap the shore. Gaze upon ponds frequented by wild ducks and geese, and the vast lake beyond. The beautiful mountains of the Grand Tetons are in the distance. Mountains on both sides of the lake frequently are topped with snow in May and October and for the occasional summer storm. This completes a picturesque view of Henry's Lake and the Rocky Mountains making up the continental divide. An outdoor BBQ grill and outdoor seating are provided, where you'll enjoy quality time with friends and family. A 55-inch smart TV installed. We have black-out curtains in every room, updated in 2024.
A 2017 bathroom remodel provides a bathroom for the Elk room. Each of our four bedrooms has its own bathroom and shower. Please see our photo of the floor layout at the end of the photos.
Having the lake off the backyard makes it great for a fishing vacation since it is situated on one of the finest trophy still-water fisheries in North America. Locals catch and release many trout a day using wet fly techniques from a boat or float tube. Waders are helpful for fishing from the shore in May, September, and October. Cool temperatures allow the fish to come closer to shore. Because there are 3 streams feeding into the lake on either side of the home, paddling a float tube back and forth in front of the home at sunrise and sunset can provide a great yield of fish.
Fishing is excellent because Henry's Lake has abundant populations of Cutthroat, Brook, and trophy hybrid Cutbow trout. The largest fish in Henry's Lake are the rainbow/cutthroat hybrids that tip the scales up to 16 pounds. The state record for brook trout weighs in at 7.2 pounds and was caught in Henry’s Lake.
The home has a private marina nearby with a boat launch available for your use. A boat rental company, Wild Rose Ranch, is five minutes away. You can fish the nearby blue ribbon Madison river, Henry's Fork of the Snake River, Hebgen Lake, and Quake Lake within a 30 minute drive or less. Yellowstone Lake is 1.5 hours away, inside the Park, where there are no limits on delicious Lake trout.
You'll enjoy returning to this lovely, quiet log home after a busy day exploring Yellowstone National Park. The large lawn is well maintained and the owner provides sports equipment for outside activities. The back deck has a BBQ grill and outdoor seating. You'll enjoy quality time with friends and family as you gaze upon ponds and the vast lake beyond. Gorgeous views of Henry's Lake and the mountains will encourage you to relax and unwind as you take in the peace and quiet. The lakeside firepit will make beautiful memories on a starry night.
Surrounded by Targhee National Forest, the property is visited by elk, deer, moose, and a red fox. Ducks and geese frequent the property's ponds, while local osprey and bald eagles cruise the shoreline, providing excellent bird watching opportunities. Coyotes and owls can often be heard at night outside the house. The latest hatch of goslings and ducklings are fun to watch as the eat they backyard grass and dandelions in the spring. We have resident muskrat that chases ducks around the ponds. A glimpse of a short tailed weasel can be seen in the spring, controlling the local mouse population.
You will love the custom western decor with its attractive hand-peeled log furniture, dining table, chairs, and rustic aspen beds. The living room has a beautiful new oak floor with three comfortable leather couches with seating for 9, situated around a 55" LCD flat screen TV with satellite service, Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and DVD player with surround sound. The white tail deer on the walls add to the rustic charm. The adjoining kitchen features a large stainless steel refrigerator, a microwave, a gas stove, and dishwasher. It is fully equipped with anything you might need to cook a meal, from a steak dinner to a crock pot meal. We take pride in stocking our kitchen as if it were our own home, always with your comfort in mind.
The large dining room offers magnificent views of Henry's Lake. It features an Amish wagon wheel chandelier with antique lanterns and a 10 person - 3 foot by 7 foot cedar dining room table. You'll enter the Trout Room (the master bedroom) from the dining room. It has a queen size bed and fantastic views of Henry's Lake and the distant mountains. The adjoining bathroom was remodeled in 2017.
The Elk Room has a queen size bed and a view of Saddle Mountain where elk can be seen migrating in the fall, in the early morning hours. Exquisite elk antler light sconces grace this room. A remodel in 2017 provided this bedroom its own bathroom and shower.
The Moose Room has a queen size bed and is located just off the living room under the loft. It has an adjoining full bathroom with a sink, tub and shower.
The log staircase in the living room leads to the Bear Room loft with a queen bed. This room is open to the living room. The adjoining bathroom has a sink, shower and toilet.
In West Yellowstone visit the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, where you can view grizzlies and wolves in a natural habitat. Or visit the IMAX theater with several nature-oriented films offered daily.
In Island Park you'll enjoy visiting Big Springs, which is the major head- water spring for the Henry's Fork River. The Upper and Lower Mesa Falls in Island Park are also well worth a visit. These falls can be enjoyed closer than any others in Yellowstone.

Beautiful property with breathtaking views, well-equipped and clean. Ideal for family trips. Excellent location for visiting Yellowstone and surrounding areas. Would definitely stay again!

Our group of 8 retirees had a great time, taking day trips to Yellowstone Park, Grand Teton and Beartooth Highway before coming "home" to the lake and cocktails on the deck. Gorgeous view. A moose, 3 otters, geese, swans and more were practically in our front yard. Host Roxanne was extremely helpful and the house was immaculate. Would love to go back.

This log cabin on a lake is a pristine location. We hiked Yellowstone and this was our home base. There are ample beds and bathrooms and seating for 8 at the dining table. The house was not that clean. We found orange peels in the couch and dirt on the floor. We found mouse poop on the nightstand and a mouse in the upstairs bedroom. I saw a previous comment about the lack of cleanliness and the host offered to bring the crew back. When you check in at 4:00pm and check out at 10:00am, you don’t want to deal with such an intrusion. There was a lot of confusion about the keypad, we ended up having the code changed 3 times. I would say that if the property manager doesn’t want negative comments on the cleanliness of the property then don’t charge a high cleaning fee. Also one of the pellet stoves did not work.

We are a group of six friends who traveled to visit Yellowstone national park, and this house was a great place and very convenient for YNP visits. The house has an amazing view of Henry’s lake includes three bedrooms with their own bathroom and is well stocked with staple items needed to cook.

House location spectacular.
Great amenities.
Quiet, large and comfortable.
Outdoor furniture needed to be cleaned.
Cleaning crew needs to clean under the couches.
That being said, we would definitely return.

We loved our time here. Great property with lots of room for our entire family.

Lovely property, great property manager - friendly, helpful and communicative. Home beautiful inside and out. Well stocked in kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms with anything you could need. Only negative was the extreme number of flying insects outside. This was due to the extremely wet winter though, and not really a knock on the property or it's owners. We had a great time there as a family.

Perfect retreat after a day of exploring Yellowstone. Cabin was clean, location was excellent. We really enjoyed building a fire by the lake in the morning.

The cabin was very spacious. There was 6 of us and we were very comfortable. It had spectacular views. We loved sitting outside overlooking Lake Henry and the mountains. It was supplied with everything you would need. Even had fishing gear, and stuff to roast over an outside fire. Roxanne was a pleasure to work with. She had very clear instructions on how to manage the cabin and was very quick to respond to any questions. The distance to yellowstone and Island Park was very convenient. We went to yellowstone for an amazing 4 days and then we went in to Island Park at High Mountain Adventures for some sxs riding. Had a blast. Overall, i would definitely stay here again.

I came here with my Wife, two sons and their wives and two grandchildren under four. The property was beautiful and the views were second to none. Everything on the property details were exactly what we saw. We all had such a great time and the proximity to Yellowstone was only about 15 minutes away.
The host, Roxane, was extremely prompt in answering any and all questions the first time. I can see why she is a preferred host.
I strongly recommend this property because you won’t be disappointed.

The location is outstanding! It was a pleasure to come home each day to the solitude and beauty of the home and area. This year the winter was a little longer than usual across the US, and we were definitely "early" in our stay, as some roads in Yellowstone were not even open yet. By the time we left, most had been cleared, although some of the hiking trails and side trips were still blocked. The roads to the home and were all clear, as was the driveway, although still some patches of snow around and even chunks of ice in the lake.
We had 4 adult couples of family and friends, and the accommodations were perfect with a bathroom for each and plenty of common areas. A card table for puzzles would have been nice, but we were able to make the dining room table work for our puzzle activities. In general, everything was clean and well laid out. The oven was a little dirty, but everything worked OK.
Unfortunately, it was too cold and windy to make use of the fire pit (and it was covered with snow the first few days). We all enjoyed the views of the lake and all the birds, and the muskrat in the pond!
We enjoyed days excursions to Yellowstone and ended our trip by driving to Grand Teton and Jackson. We also went to Ennis one day (a trip back in time) and went to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery center in West Yellowstone. Overall, a very enjoyable trip for all.

The house is in a great location with bald eagles flying over every morning. Roxane responds right away and is very helpful.

We cannot say enough about this beautiful lakefront cabin. Clean, quiet, great views, easy to get to from BZN Airport. We were even able to see The Grand Tetons from the back porch on a clear day. Only about 20 or so minutes to West Yellowstone. Awesome trip! Would definitely stay here again!

Maxine was wonderful. She answered all our questions and gave us great ideas where to shop and what to see. She accommodated our check out time which we appreciated greatly since we all travelled from different states.
The house however was very dirty and dusty. My adult daughter arrived first with her husband and an infant. Since they arrived a little earlier than the check in time they saw two high school girls cleaning up the house. They did a horrible job! The carpet didn’t look as if it was vacuumed and there was so much dust in the dining room and under the sofa in the living room area. Cleaning was not professional at all.
It was too bad since I don’t think Maxine was aware of it.
When my husband and I arrived I ended up cleaning the stove prior to using it.
The house itself is beautiful and the view is fantastic.
Hopefully with responsible /professional cleaning crew it will present itself even better.
Location was just ok. A little far from Bozeman airport (no Uber or taxi available) and a little far from Yellowstone Park Entrance but we knew it.
Overall the owner/manager Maxine was fantastic.

The house was very equipped and very comfortable, spectacular view.
Overall area had rafting trips, float trips, horse riding, close enough to Yellowstone to get there ahead of crowds. We covered the entire loop over three days and did other actives outside of the park as well. Yellowstone is a must for any traveller who loves the outdoors.

A piece of paradise!
My husband and I rented this property for 3 weeks. During this time, we had different family groups stay with us… ages ranging from 6 to 73 years old. The house is well-stocked with everything needed for comfort and entertainment for all ages. We loved the variety of birds drawn to the lake and the beautiful views from every room. The porch is marvelous!
The location of the house is convenient for so many activities … inside and outside Yellowstone Park. We were there during the history-making flood and closing of the park. The owner had provided lots of information about local sites, activities, and services prior to our trip, and when the park closed, she contacted us with more suggestions!
We were very impressed with the property and the owner’s efforts on our behalf.

Beautiful spot, great accomodations
The lodge exceeded our expectations. No surprises, no problems. The location is beautiful - between two mountain ranges at the end of a large lake. (Henry's lake is much larger than it appeared from the pictures.) It is on, or very near the Continental Divide. There are some small ponds that attract ducks and geese and a nice firepit, with plenty of dry firewood for evening campfires. (You may have to split your own kindling, but there is an axe for that.) The interior is very nice, with a very well-equipped kitchen. The whole place was very clean, modern (yet rustic) and well-maintained.. It's an easy 20-min drive into W. Yellostone.
I know some previous reviews commented on the gnats (or mayflies). They were a minor nuisance during our stay (early June), but an evening breeze or a nice campfire keeps them away.
This is a great place for a family gathering. Highly recommended.

We are a large family that loves to cook, laugh and record the memories of life being lived...well.
The home is Grand and the surroundings are stunning. There is wildllife in a constant parade of flyby's and landings. Great American Pelican's, Blue Herons, Bald Eagles and just a few.
The home is warm and comfortable, just sit back and enjoy, but have a camera ready, the birds are in migration.

Pictures do not do this house and the views justice. We had an amazing week.
Roxanne was the most accommodating and responsive owner I have dealt with through VRBO. Everything was as advertised and much more.

Beautiful home!
Roxane is an excellent host! This house is the best-equipped home we have ever rented. There is even a wall of brochures for local activities. There were 5 of us and the house was more than we needed. We loved that each bedroom has its own bathroom.
At first, I was disappointed that there wasn't better access to the lake, but there was so much else to do, it really didn't matter to us. Henry's Lake has excellent fishing, and our guys caught some of the biggest trout they ever caught. They found the best fishing spots at the state park, a short drive away.
Yellowstone is 20 minutes away and the town of West Yellowstone is great for souvenir shopping. We really had a wonderful time at this beautiful place!

Heavenly Lake Henry
The scenic surroundings alone make this location a must see, must stay but there’s so much more. Convenient to Yellowstone National Park west entrance, West Yellowstone and many other sites just a brief beautiful drive away. We loved the house — gorgeous — and all the amenities. Especially appreciated you providing essentials for stay — in the kitchen and throughout the house. Made us feel at home immediately. Loved our stay and have already recommended to friends. Thank you!

What a great vacation spot!
There were 7 of us so the 4 bedrooms worked great. The scenery was fantastic! It was the most well stocked VRBO place I have ever stayed . The owner was very quick to respond when we had a question on arrival. Would love to return some day.

Amazing
What a great place to stay near a Yellowstone. There were Mountain Views surrounding the house, a beautiful lake to look at, and the house was amazing. Roxanne was an amazing host as well throughout the whole process. If you are looking for a home base outside west Yellowstone, this is the perfect spot.

Lovely home
This home on Henry's Lake was spacious and well stocked. I wish they had been clear that the 4th bedroom upstairs with 1 queen and 2 single beds was simply a loft with it's own bathroom. This was problematic when it came to napping. Everything else was wonderful and we would highly recommend this vrbo for family groups.

Awesome view
We really enjoyed our stay. There was good access to the lake and we rented a boat for a day. Didn't catch much, but didn't have much time to fish. The house was well stocked and clean. Roxanne was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. I would highly recommend renting this unit!

Yellowstone Vacation
The property on Henry's Lake is amazing. This is our second time staying at this property and it was again a great trip. The house has everything necessary for a large group or a smaller group. The house was used as the base to travel to Yellowstone and Bozeman. Hoping to stay again in the future

Great house, great location, great amenities
The house, property, location and amenities are excellent. VERY well stocked house with anything you might need. Great base to explore Yellowstone. We loved that each of the 4 bedrooms each had their own bathroom, loved the firepit (and well stocked firewood and marshmallow sticks), great supply of games, kitchen is very well stocked. Really enjoyed sitting on the deck and in the evening watching the bats come out and each all the bugs! Also loved laying out on the lawn at night to see the stars and Milky Way - perfect location given the lack of city lights. If you visit, be prepared for mosquitos and you might want to bring an eyemask for sleeping - the sun comes up early and there aren't curtains that block the light. Fabulous house, host and location - we'd highly recommend.
