Nice atmosphere, breakfast room, modern bathroom, inner court yard.
Difficult to find stowage place in the room, not easy to get the heat out.

Atmosphere
Check in is at 3.00 pm
I arrived in holland at 7.15 am
First visited my ant and uncle
Showed up at hotel at 2.20 was tired afyer a night travel by plane wanted to rest a little
Snobby receptionist informed my check in is at 3.00 pm. I went to the market ate a herring. Came back at 2.40 ask at 2.45 if i could check. Same rude girl informed me we check in at 3.00 pm
I told her i travel all over the world and i can check in earlier every where if the room is available normally i stsy at the van de valk hotel where i can check in even at 11.00 am they understand that i came from far away
Well she said we don't care
We check in after 3.00 pm. This is what we do here
OK GIRL
THEN I SLEEP SOMEWHERE ELSE NEXT TIME. AND YOU WILL NOT GET MY 350 EURO THAT I PAID FOR 2 NIGHT EVER AGAIN
You got your rules, guess what. I got my MONEY. And i understand you don,t want my money
Soon after came a friendly young men and checked me in
No where in the world did i experienced a rude and stupid behavior like this check in desk (what ever you feel like calling here)
When the room would have been not ready
I understand i can't check in but when its empty anyway
Her behavior was a stupid ignorant move

The beds were good, the building is special
Rooms were not cleaned between the two nights of our booking. We found out later that a leaflet that we received at check in told us to explicitly ask for cleaning. The guest directory in the room however said the exactly the opposite: “tell us if you don’t need cleaning”. I specifically looked it up. Anyway … we got a pile of new towels to bring to our room when we complained about this .
We found breakfast a bit mediocre for the price charged.

I liked the interesting building and the very tasteful and cool interior decoration.
Half of the parking does apparently belong to the neighbour, with no possibility for the guests parking…I had to remove my car, but the young man at the reception has very helpful to walk me (under the rain !) to the outside parking - which is indeed not far…
The breakfast is ok, but very boring: I would however have liked non industrial bread…and maybe some local speciality?

quite large room, comfortable double bed, good pillows
the temperature in the room is very low, the heating does not cope with low temperatures, drafts on the windows and noise from the sreet

Especially the bed was excellent. Staff friendly. Breakfast was fine.
The facilities needed a touch-up. Chipped paint etc. Didn't match-up to the price.

Comfortable room "sweet" and very good breakfast. I really appreciated the shower and toilet inside room. There was even a bath and a sauna. Really very super comfortable and romantic room.

The theme of the hotel was great. converted from a jail, really liked it
loved all of it

The style is one of a kind, receptionists were nice.
there was no door on the ‘bathroom’, this is strange. The room was cold, windows opened, no door on the bathroom.

The room was spacious and wel decorated.
Almost every piece of cutlery and most of the glasses in the breakfast room were unclean. For a 15 euro breakfast I do not expect having to clean it myself. Breakfast is somewhat over priced in my opinion.

It is a special building, with a unique atmosphere. Breakfast buffet is great.
Lighting in the rooms is poor (no light in shower, one big light over the bed, not all lights can be operated from bedside), no bar or restaurant facility in the evening. You can venture outside for that. It is in the city centre.

location, interior design, staff, heating, hot water
luck of proper lighting in the bathroom and the room. it’s impossible to read sth or see yourself in the mirror, to fix your hair etc. in the sink there was only hot water running and we couldn’t brush our teeth because it was hot. luck of hangers for towels or coats. The beds although new, not comfortable.

bed is comfortable
property organizes events in the hotel such as opera. they do not inform guests about that. I have ended up not being able to enter my room cause of opera guests blocking my door, not mentioning that half of the day is pretty loud due to the sound.

It has a beautiful inferior. Really charming mix of furniture and black-gold color mix
I had to pay 50€ up front because I was checking in late. It us ok. But. They even asked me what time I'll arrive and I responded between 23-24. I came at 23:30. Nobody was there. Had to wait 30 minutes for the staff while sitting on the pavement in front of the Hotel. When the staff came, they gave me a key card that doesnt work, and said "well tonight just leave your room door open if you are going out". I had over 2000€ worth of filming equipment with me, so leaving it all unlocked to go to the bathroom or to light a cigarette was not an option. I told them that and they just responded "well, it is the only way".
If I pay 50€ extra because of late check in, I expect there to be someone waiting for me. If my keycard doesnt work, I expect them to give me another one or another room. Tomorrow, they acted like nothing happend. No apology, no reimbursment of my 50€. EXTREMLY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL

Great location and the room was nice.
Our room was outside the hotel which we were unaware was a possibility. We had to ask for the room to be cleaned after two days as they don't bother otherwise. This consisted of simply making the bed and changing towels, coffee pods never replenished, you had to make two last for four days. Cups not cleaned or sink/toilet.

Very dirty! There was dust on the table, TV remote and lamps. Loose and dirty flooring .
Towels were not fresh. No soap in the toilet and also very dusty.
No one is cleaning under the bed. Had to use a tissue to hold a hair dryer, it was very sticky.
Room number - D1
