The lodge is very beautiful with amazing scenery of the river and surrounding mountains. The private hot spring is great for 2 people and relaxing. We can see the whole lodge from the tub and balcony. The room was a spacious, comfortable duplex with upstairs bedroom and 2 bathrooms. There isn’t heating except for a wood fireplace in the living room but it was warm enough without using the fireplace. The small alpaca/llama farm in the lodge was cute and fun to see. The exhibition centres on camelids and condors are small but well done. The restaurant also has great food and cocktails.
Only small soap bars provided for shower which seems common practice across Peru. We’re just used to liquid shower gel which is more convenient to use. It was a minor thing.

It was an amazing location and stunning views and the hot springs are lush.
The room I booked wasn’t the same as shown on the pictures when booking. We were told the pictures are only for an illustration. Sorry but I find it purely misleading. Hotel was full so we couldn’t be upgraded and the staff couldn’t do anything for us. I didn’t want to insist on refund or other compensation which should have been in a place I believe. I just wanted to enjoy myself instead of arguing. Also human scull above the entrance door to the reception is super weird, please take it down. I don’t think I’ll be back.

The locatywas phenomenal. Our suite overlooked the canyon, river and hot springs. We had our own hot tub at 41 C.
We also had a fireplace. room 3. We both did a hot stone massage. Excellent.

the grounds and spa pools are insane. the room was huge and staff helped us move to nicer room for 3 people with was really appreciated. nice welcome drink too! breakfast was super varied and rich but continental - could have more of a Peruvian touch …
more attention to detail needed in the rooms - if you have 3 people you need to provide glasses and enough water for 3 people, and same goes for toiletries given the premium price of the hotel.
dark and difficult to walk around in the evenings.
spa treatment was basic and could really do with being more premium by offering a nice hot infusion after treatment at least and healthy snack for example. Spa pool was also full of leaves which made it unwelcoming … keep it clean!

We went to Chivay for Colca Canyon and the condors by motorcycle, a two-night stop-over between Arequipa and Cusco (Machu Picchu). We thoroughly enjoyed the resort and spa, an unexpected gem. The hot springs were great, the food excellent, and the staff super-helpful. The grounds are well-kept and the area is out of this world. We would definitely return.

This was one of the most magical places we have stayed at! The location in the Andes on Colca river is surreal. Loved the natural hot springs in the hotel, which were not crowded and felt private, alpaca/llama farm is so unique to have in a hotel and was super peaceful to spend time at. The staff was very lovely and helpful. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Colca Canyon! We wish we stayed there longer.

good facilities overall
excellent food
good service
showers were awful for a 5* property no pressure and took ages to get warm
5.0
hot springs are definitely the best part of this hotel
the rooms are super cold - the tempreture dropping under 20 degrees during the night. The man who is working at the reception is super flurstrated with his job, he welcomed us with bad attitude, explained nothing etc..
Considering the money for one night and the service you receive, it definitely makes more sense to look for other options.

Hot springs, heated rooms (a definite plus in winter tile) and buffet breakfast.

Location
Very poor value for money. We paid 200€/night and the rooms didn’t have proper heating. Hotel facilities are very poor. The thermal baths cannot be called thermal baths. Hotel designed for tourists paying for being tourists.

Amazing property and location with private hot springs. Our bedrooms were spacious, clean and with blissful hot water. Staff was super helpful, food was good. A bit on the pricy side but worth it

Good breakfast, gardens very lovely, great views of the valley, great thermal baths
Isolation of rooms (glas, windows etc) leaves room for improvement, dirty carpets, drains in bathrooms smelly

everything - superbly well done. Could stay there a fortnight
No complaints or issues.
