The lakefront area was scenic and peaceful. The proximity of the property to Great Barrington and Stockbridge was a surprise (we did not know the area). The owner provided materials and tips on local sights and hiking trails that we useful.
The time of year we went (end of May) turned out to be somewhat buggy - causing me to use the outside fireplace to keep them at bay.
Overall, a nice experience.

place not completely as described..no yard for dog's, fridge didnt stay cold, parking spot was tight in a square with a pole and a stone wall barley fit my jeep wrangler...only 1 good outlet in the entire cottage furniture was cold uncomfortable leather..very disappointed by being in extreme close proximity of other cottages, couldnt really see the lake other cottages in the way ..next time will be more appt to ask questions ..

Quaint cabin tucked away in the Berkshires. For those vacationing with a pet, be aware that on Labor Day weekend this neighborhood puts on a fireworks show right by this house. Also, there really is not any yard, just a small patio. Lots of great hiking in the area.

This cabin was really nice. It was in an excellent location and in good shape. I especially appreciated the welcome binder with the restaurant suggestions and town information. I would definitely recommend this property.

Great cottage on the lake. Had everything we needed. The owners left a bottle of wine that we enjoyed. It was such a relaxing place to unwind. Kayaks were quite stable. Thank you.

Property is very nice abd so are the owners. Unfortunately the weather was too cool to take advantage of the picturesque lake but maybe next time. Pay attention to the description of the driveway. Cars over 16 feet can't fit in abd the street is very narrow to park on .

We had a good time in the cabin - very relaxing, and during this season is the best time to go since everything is brow and red around.
The neighborhood was gorgeous, we talked all around, and it was beautiful.
The kitchen was perfect; the dining room view was fantastic. We Bbq every day, and the grill is pretty new. The Bathroom was the clean and perfect side. It is a small place with an amazing vibe and an extremely cozy time.

My wife, our dog and I spent one week at this home in mid-October. The place was as advertised, the pics are accurate. It is across the street (gravel road) from the lake. The location is quiet and peaceful. The fall colors were peaking at this time. There is plenty to do within a 30 minute drive of the cabin. Monument mountain has great hiking. Great Barrington, Stockbridge, and Lenox are all great small towns. We toured the Mount ( Edith Wharton home) in Lenox. Also, Mount Greylock (a little further) is a must see--the highest point in Massachusetts, with great views. All in all I would definitely recommend this place for a Berkshires vacation, it's probably wonderful any time of year. By the way, we did run into the owner, David, on our last day. He was a great host to chat with for a bit.

We always clean up as we come in and leave. The comfortable gentle setting was just what we needed. We went hiking, swimming and general adventuring. Look forward to renting from this landlord again. The housekeeping woman was so kind when she arrived as we were leaving.

Great location, rustic fun
We enjoyed our trip but the cabin is definitely that, a rustic cabin. Everything functioned and was comfortable. Could use some paint over water stains on ceiling and new towels but we had fun (weather wasn't great but...)

Nice weekend
The cabin was nice if a little rustic. The kitchen had old appliances that were not easy to make meals in. The heat came on right away however and we had comfortable nights sleeping. The mattress is a little old however and could use an upgrade. Great location on Lake Buell and nice view of the lake from the living room window. We strolled along the lake every day and it was very nice. Convenient location to hiking trails and a nice little town in Great Barrington. For a cabin it was a nice spot especially since it is difficult to find places that will accept dogs.

Cabin in woods
Place was clean. Great communication with David.Could use some curtains in kitchen area. Baseboard heat didn’t work in living room but other did. Very private, didn’t get to use kayaks because it was November. All in was a very nice place and a good weekend getaway

Very nice area
We enjoyed the area very much. The house is not as nice as it looked online. It needs some love for sure. Rusty kitchen cabinets and mold on the ceiling over the shower. But the location couldn't be better. There is 1 parking spot which is a little tight to get into depending on how many cars are in the driveway right across. Don't bring a truck. We did enjoy our stay. View of the lake could not be better.

Relaxing Getaway
This place was a great spot for a relaxing vacation. The location was perfect, right across the lake. We enjoyed using the kayaks. The bed was comfy. Very cozy cottage. Great Barrington is only a 10 minute drive from the cottage. David was very helpful and gave us some great restaurant recommendations. Thank you!

Pleasant
My husband and I wanted a little escape from home. I was looking for a secluded cabin on a lake. This was only close. The cabin was clean and cozy. The owner was a pleasure to talk to and very attentive, yet respected our space and privacy. He also owns the property across the road and happened to be there with his family. It was a little disappointing that this cabin was not actually on the lake, but across the road. The area was more populated than I expected but it was quiet. I am not a lake enthusiast but I do enjoy the view! Fantastic for kayaking, fishing, water skiing, or just cruising. The cabin is very old and is essentially maintained. Slightly roughing it for me but we did enjoy our time there and hospitality of the owner. Area has many activities for most types to enjoy. Overall I give it 4.5 stars.

It was in a much more crowded area than anticipated, but the neighborhood was very quiet none the less. We had no idea that the bed was a king size bed and we brought the wrong size sheets, which did not help with the sleeping experience. The temperature was getting cold outside and the heat worked well in the apartment. Made a fire one nite outside which was pleasant. Rustic but very adequate digs!Surprised that the area had so many lovely groomed trails, couldn't do enough of them! And what a beautiful time of year to do it.

Friendly host, awesome location
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the property. It is so close to the lake it might as well be on the shoreline. the two kayaks were a wonderful addition. The cabin is rustic but comfortable. Perfect spot for a getaway. Nestled between the woods and the lake it is the perfect mix of what the mountains offer. I will definitely consider returning.

Beautiful rustic cottage on beautiful lake
The cottage was in great condition, clean and smelled nice when we arrived. The owner was extremely attentive and responsive both before we arrived and while we were staying at the property. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay!
The kayaks that came with the property were awesome. They were pretty much new and they were great for going out on the lake.
I highly recommend this dog-friendly property!

Perfect Getaway
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend during the fall. We loved the location! So quiet and relaxing with beautiful views of the lake, mountains and foliage. Very convenient to Great Barrington where we enjoyed some good restaurants and shopping. The cottage is rustic with knotty pine floors and walls, very comfortable for the two of us. Nice views from every room. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely plan to return. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing getaway close to nature.

Perfect Get-Away Cabin!
MiOwn was an excellent place to stay while visiting Lake Buel! A quiet neighborhood with views of the lake made our stay that much more enjoyable!
The cabin was clean and stocked with the essentials, great sitting area and comfortable bed!
The town of Great Barrington had a lot to offer as well! The quaint main street was fun to explore and there were tons of options of dinner (the brewery was great!)
Lots to do outside here too. As if enjoying the lake isn't enough, MiOwn is not far from Monument Mountain and the gorgeous Umpachene Falls.
Already looking forward to my next visit!

Rustic Dream!
We stayed at this beautiful rustic little cottage at the end of August and it was delightful! Very clean, easy access to hiking trails and Great Barrington! On top of that the lake it sits on is magnificent! Would highly recommend!

Wonderful, rustic peaceful cottage by the lake
The cottage is very unique because the living area is elevated so that the picture window in the living room gives stunning views of Lake Buel. Gazing at the lake is so relaxing and peaceful that all of my stress and tension melted away. The living areas are surprisingly spacious and well furnished with comfortable antique pieces. I slept very soundly on the very large bed. The kitchen and bathroom are very basic but very adequate. Everything was very clean. My favorite part of staying at this cottage is the access to the lake. Swimming and boating in Lake Buel are amazing. I am told that fishing is also very good but, I have never done it. I enjoyed bicycling in the area. I biked right from the cottage and along some very scenic and rural roads. Just a few miles away is a terrific general store that provides a nice rest stop along the ride. Monument Mountain was only a few miles away and was nice hike that has sensational views of the region. It was a short ride to all of the other attractions in the Berkshires. I had some great meals at the restaurants in Great Barrington. The ice cream store in town is wonderful. Overall, this cottage provides basic, clean, comfortable and, relaxing accommodations with a full range of fun activities on the lake and easy to all of the attractions in the Berkshires.

A DUMP
Cabin was a moldy, smelly disgusting dump. Not at all as advertised. I’ll bet the owner himself would never stay there. Furniture looked like it was from a Salvation Army dumpster. Oven didn’t work, couldn’t lock the door. No AC or dehumidifier meant everything was damp and tacky all the time. DO NOT STAY HERE.
