About this house rental
I'm happy to announce this bnb is now under professional management and cleaned to a high standard with full replenishments through-out the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry, all food in the pantry, fridge and freezer is left for guests to use.
We have replaced the cook-top, microwave, downstairs shower and added more entertainment. This bnb will no longer disappoint anyone anymore!
This spacious open-plan home consists of 5 carpeted bedrooms, 1 with an ensuite, polished floorboards throughout and a fully equipped kitchen and laundry with a second bathroom downstairs.
Upstairs has 4 bedrooms including the master bedroom which has a large ensuite. There is an Xbox 360 with 2 controllers and plenty of games to choose from.
There is also a Playstation 4 with VR (Virtual Reality) set up with 2 controllers, 2 hand-held motion sensors and a headset.
The huon pine staircase has baby gates located at the top and bottom to block off little ones.
All windows in the house are equipped with fly screens and locking windows.
The laundry and both bathrooms have ceramic tiled floors.
All bedrooms have new low pile beige carpet fitted.
This beautiful home has been rebuilt and renovated with all new fixtures throughout.
There are 3 parking bays on a now gravel and bitumen parking area.
This home is wonderfully spacious. The upper level and lower level consist of 89 square meters - in total 178 square meters.
A large wood heater with flue through the second floor ensures that this home is always toasty and warm.
The kitchen is newly installed and almost new. There are modular cupboards, an electric cook top an under bench oven, range hood, double stainless steel sink and a new dishwasher.
Both bathrooms have exhaust heat lights for those cold winter mornings.
The house is fitted with hardwired smoke alarms throughout that will light the way to the exits should a fire break out, and has a fire extinguisher and fire blanket.
Guests will have access to the whole property, except 2 storage cupboards, 1 in each bathroom and the cupboard under the staircase.
***Guests please note; All bedding and bathroom linen is accounted for before and after every guest, if any bedding and bathroom linen missing/stolen, a fee of $50 per missing item will be charged***
Interaction with guests will be via email and phone.
Situated in the picturesque and quiet Jenico Street in a beautiful wilderness setting with trickling creek to soothe you to sleep of a night directly across the road.

A great place to stay with a group of friends needing space. Host very good

For a group of six it provided us with what we needed

Kitchen needs utensils to be upgraded.
Main bathroom shower unit is a waste of space, needs replacing with a normal cubical. Bathroom 1 hadn't been cleaned used soap and hair from previous tenant left behind.
Still the house severed it's purpose for us.

Attention to such a lot of little things would make such a difference e.g. lights that worked, a shower curtain so that water did not end up on the bathroom floor, towel rails, dry kindling, fire lighters, a heater controller in the bathroom that was within reach, the upstairs bathroom that services 4 bedrooms would be more useable if entry wasn't only through the master bedroom, hanging facilities in bedrooms etc etc. The price we paid is comparable to that paid in other B and Bs but standard not nearly as high. Advertised for 10 people but insufficient plates, cutlery etc for 10. We were only 6 so that didn't bother us but it is important. Probably 2.5 stars rather than 3.

Lucky the property was just out of the rough town
Very outdated bathrooms, lounge and bedrooms. No heating apart from fire and had to ask for more firewood on 2nd morning. 0c morning so took hours for fire to warm up house. Bedrooms need portable fan heaters. A lot of mould around bathroom and lounge was uncomfortable and inground dirt stained. Toilet seats had to held up with your back as it fell down. Bit pricey for just 3 people but we had no choice. Hosts ph no was disconnected so could only message…but host was quick to get back to us.

Girlie getaway
We enjoyed the location in Queenstown of this property, plenty of walks in the area, short distance to the train station and town. The log fire was great and wood etc was easy to access.

Overall, this has the potential to be a great holiday stay property. There are just a few things that we would suggest to make it better than how it currently is. Firstly, there is sleeping capacity for 10, but there were only 4 wine glasses. It was lovely to come to a set fire, but as Queenstown can have several rainy days in a row, it would be handy to have a clothes-horse provided and some hooks in bathrooms for wet towels and hangers in bedrooms. There is a very good dishwasher, but no detergent for it provided. Visitors need to be careful as the tap in the kitchen sprays from the side, perhaps it needs to be replaced as do most of the bedside lamps which were not working. We noticed that several of the previous visitors had complained that no milk had been left for them. This has not been addressed, and whilst it might not seem like a big deal, some people may have travelled a long distance to arrive and not have had time to get to the shops before they closed, so a small amount of milk left in the fridge would be very welcome. We hope the owner will take these suggestions on-board as we would be tempted to return.

The property was comfortable, if a little elderly. Not much provided, but when we messaged the owner they were very responsive.
