The property was comfortable and clean. Carole was lovely to communicate with.

House and furnishings are a little old, but was a very comfortable stay. The fenced in garden at the back was overgrown so we couldn’t let our dog in there, but the owner did let us know this prior and there is a large fenced deck. If you are not expecting 5 star luxury then this home is great for a large family or friends group for the weekend. The aircons kept us nice and cool on a sweltering hot weekend.
Great communication before and after with the owner.

As advertised this is a quaint property
Very clean and Carole very pleasant to deal with
Being at the lower end of the price range I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and appearance of the house. Everything provided as stated and we enjoyed our stay very much

Our group of 8 really enjoyed our stay at the Healesville Getaway. The house was clean, comfortable, warm, easily met our expectations and fit our diverse crowd. It was good to be ~15 mins drive from everywhere in the Yarra Valley and a short walk to coffee and into town.
Everyone was able to relax at the house straight away, despite the cold and windy start to our weekend, and when the sun came out we were visited by parrots and kookaburras.
It felt like a home away from home to us.

As we drove into this property it looked like an abandoned house. The grass was long, the garden unkept and the driveway potholed and muddy. The front deck fence had rotting gate posts. The front door was rotten and delaminating at the bottom. Not a good welcome.
Inside the lounge room had a dilapidated couch with cuts and holes in the upholstery. The floor was bouncey and the crockery in the cabinet rattled when walking near it. The kitchen sink tap was broken. This is a very run down house.
There is a bedroom upstairs that smelled musty and damp. We couldn't use that or the large back bedroom that was cold and smelly. The sliding door to the back bedroom was off the rollers and couldn't be closed.
The door to the laundry couldn't be closed.
This house isn't at a standard to rent out at any price, let alone at the premium price charged.
The owner gave us a credit for one day of the two.

There were 9 of us in all ranging from a 6 months old baby to my husband and I in our sixties - and everyone felt relaxed and at home in this delightful older residence. The property manager, Carole, was a dream to deal with ensuring that the memories of our Healesville stay will be happy ones.

We finally had our celebration weekend
My husband & I, our 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws and 3 grandchildren finally had our weekend at Healesville Getaway in November. It was originally planned for July but a lockdown was called the day before we were due to go. Carole, the owner, kindly rescheduled our stay until September, but once again we went into lockdown and it was rescheduled to November. This was a special family celebration and I can't thank Carole enough for her assistance to us. To find a dog friendly house with 5 bedrooms to accommodate 9 people was amazing in itself but to also find that the house was perfect for our needs was an absolute bonus. The house is extremely well equipped and has excellent heating. It was so nice to find that our beds and pillows were super comfortable too. We cooked up a storm on both nights and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need, even fresh milk in the fridge on arrival. The oven and fridge are both huge which was also great. Yes, the house is not new, but we found it homely, comfortable and very dog friendly. Carole is a wonderful, flexible host and a great communicator. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather for our weekend in Healesville and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thanks Carole for helping us to make it all happen......eventually :-)

Easy in Healesville
The property owner was very helpful and set the bedrooms up nicely for our arrival, there was milk in the fridge which was a lovely touch. The house was comfortable and the location was about 15min walking distance to the main strip but only a 3min drive. If your looking for something easy and reasonably priced for a larger group this would work nicely. Carole thanks for the opportunity to use your property.

Very dated home and very disappointed in overall condition
This house is very dated and had a very distinctive smell of dampness throughout the home with the general condition of home both inside and out requiring a major makeover and maintenance required also the furniture is very dated and requires updating .Very disappointed in this house for the price paid

Great Location, Lovely Stay
I stayed here with my extended family over December 29-31 2019 - it was boiling hot outside, and this house was a little haven where we could spend time together.
It is an older house, so there are a few small things not working (but which Carole the property manager has mentioned she's fixing). But overall a really lovely stay and very well stocked with kitchen equipment, a well-functioning stove and oven, etc. Bedrooms were comfortable and there were so many of them, the living room and kitchen was great to spend time together but there was also enough space across the house to retreat for kids' (and adults!) naps. Best of all, it was also pet-friendly, which meant our little family dog Togo could come along as well.
Carole was super-communicative throughout the whole trip and very helpful - thanks again Carole!

Christmas large family.
Reasonably comfortable but possums in the roof were disruptive. Ringtail family in the window-cute but noisy at night. One door doesn’t lock and the front deck and garden need serious attention. This property just needs some TLC. Beds all nicely made up and stocked well to provide for the family of 11.

A great spot for big groups
We really enjoyed Healesville Getaway, the huge house was charming, comfortable and impeccably clean with everything you can imagine provided and modern upgrades to the kitchen and all the bathrooms. We were 6 adults, 3 kids (aged 3 and under) and a dog and there was more than enough room for all of us. Carole the Property Manager was very communicative and wonderfully helpful, particularly when a storm took out power to the whole town just as we arrived and we had no idea what was going on or where anything was in the dark! As animal lovers, the visits from lots of native wildlife were a nice added bonus too.

Super helpful host
We needed accommodation for one night as our daughter was getting married just out of Healesville. Carole was so helpful allowing us to check in early so we could park of things and get into our glad rags and get there relaxed and ready to enjoy the day.

Girls weekend
We all enjoyed our stay in this charming old house. The beds were very comfortable but more attention needs to be paid to the front yard. The trees need to be trimmed so you can see the driveway & house number & also up the driveway so as not to brush the side of your car as you enter & leave. I would also suggest mowing the grass in the front yard.

Overnight stay
Plenty of room inside and clean facilities. We appreciated earlier access . Upstairs heating does not appear to be working. Externally property is very overgrown, lawns had not been mown for some time. Decking and railing are in need of major repair. No signage at the entry, hard to see from road due to overgrowth.

Plenty of space for a winery weekend
The house was quaint and very clean and comfortable. The host was lovely and extremely thorough leading up to the booking. The check in email was exceptionally thorough!
With only a 15 minute walk into town and a close drive to plenty of wineries this was a great location.
The only issue to be mindful of is the neighbors were sensitive to noise. Otherwise I would recommend this as a place to stay

Immaculate homestay in the heart of the stunning Yarra Valley
The property was clean, comfortable and had everything you could need for a weekend away. In fact even more room than we needed! Our host was super organized, thoughtful and communicative. An excellent experience.
Really great location - walking distance to Healesville and the great boutique shopping (and distilleries). And on the doorstep of some of Victoria's most well known wine names.

The property was cosy amd very clean and everything was set up for us beautifully: We all had a bed as the owner set up the ten beds and everything was very clean and tidy. Spacious, comfortable Healesville retreat
Healesville Getaway is a spacious and homely retreat in Healesville. We were a large group, but the house comfortably accommodated four adults and seven children. The property was clean and the kitchen well appointed. It's location is also ideal, being in a quiet street not far from the centre of town, local attractions, restaurants and wineries.
