This is a beautiful little cottage that is great to unplug and turn back time to a simple life.
Waking to the sounds of nature is so calming.
Only recommend that you look at Autumn - Spring as in Summer you do not get the full beauty of the grounds and local area.

We did have a nice time at the property but there were a few things that dampened the stay for us. It was right on the Blackwood, as indicated but you could not see the river from the property and it was very difficult to access. We were even "recommended" by the owners not to go down to the river. The bathroom was clean however there was a manky old toothbrush left to welcome us in there, the exhaust fan didn’t work, the can of air freshener to compensate was empty and not all the lights were operational. We were rationed with firewood, 10 pieces per day which, when wanting to keep warm as well as use the wood fire cooker for meals, it was not adequate. The wood fire cooker itself didn't hold heat anyway as it had a hole in the side! The second morning we were there my husband went for an early morning ride while my daughters and I slept in. We were woken by 2 men walking around our balcony loudly chatting away while inspecting the spa. This was quite intrusive and not expected at all. My youngest daughter got quite the shock when she came downstairs and saw 2 men walking around on the balcony. Upon leaving on the Saturday morning, we were an hour away from the property when the owners rang and accused us of taking a baking tray. A baking tray!! Why on earth would we take a baking tray??? It isn’t really nice when you go away for a holiday and the last thing that happens it that you’re accused of something that you have not done. It was all a bit odd.

Lovely relaxing stay in Nannup. Beautiful to be able to sit in the spa watching roos and emus toddle around the property. BBQd our breakfast each day on the verandah. Comfy beds. What's not to love? Only thing I'd recommend is bring your food/drinks as Nannup is around 20 minutes away and shops close early. We will be back again 😀

Let's start with the positive - the property is in a beautiful location with lovely gardens; the hosts were friendly; and the accommodation was very clean and well appointed.
The major issue we had is that we did not get to stay in 'Duffy's House', as per our booking confirmation, for which a deposit was accepted 31 days prior to our stay. Instead we were informed on arrival by a vague explanation regarding a 'glitch' in the booking system that we would be staying in 'Villas' attached to the main house. No apology or compensation was offered, but we were informed that it would have cost us more if we had booked the 'Villas', which I think was an effort to placate our concerns.
I had been in contact with the host prior to our stay and at no time was informed of this issue. Driving from Perth and arriving in the late afternoon, we had a very limited chance of finding similar accommodation at such short notice and had to accept what was offered, which was clearly not what we paid for or were expecting.
Although the 'Villas' are nice, they are two separate rooms, each with en suites, and an adjoining lounge and kitchenette.
This brings me to our second major gripe - my friend and I both enjoy cooking and had bought food with us to prepare several meals during our stay, as we believed we had booked a house with a full-sized kitchen. Instead we had to use the small convection oven with two hot plates on top and only had access to a bar fridge. We tried to use the gas wok burner on the BBQ but this wasn't working. The kitchenette was only big enough for one person to stand in at a time, so we could not cook together. While we managed, it was not enjoyable.
It appeared 'Duffy's House' was occupied during our stay. However, at the time I booked it was available on both HomeAway and another well-known accommodation site, albeit for a higher price than HomeAway. So I fail to understand the 'glitch' unless it is a case that the booking that pays more get 'Duffy's House' and those that pay less are relegated to the 'Villas'? Either way this was very poor communication by the host, who should have informed us of the situation as soon as they were aware of it (and most definitely prior to our arrival!) and given us the opportunity to book somewhere else that suited us better.

Clean, well equipped and comfortable with books to read, a kitchen with all the tools you need to cook, wood fire heater, nice linen and beds. I love the timber on the walls inside and the peaked roof room upstairs. There's a balcony around 3 sides where you can sit and look across the paddock (kangaroos grazing) or submerse yourself in the well maintained spa. Quiet and peaceful too.

We stayed 2 nights in this gorgeous cottage.
3 kids upstairs thoroughly enjoyed their stay while mum & dad enjoyed the peace & quiet downstairs in the hot tub.
The Cottage was home away from home, everything supplied, gorgeous setting amongst the lovely trees.

We had the great pleasure of getting a last minute booking for our New Year break at this beautiful property located within a breathtaking natural environment. Every morning we awoke to the sounds of Kookaburras and throughout the day had the benefit of great weather, and many visits by friendly birds and wildlife. The rooms and amenities are fantastic (great beds :-)) and the spa was a welcome relaxant for the end of each day. Plenty of bush walks and local attractions to visit, with little traffic. Nannup Hotel serves great value food - try the grilled barramundi or a steak!! Judith and Dirk were absolutely fantastic hosts, and very accommodating during our stay. We will be heading back in 2019 for sure!

We stayed at Duffys House at Redgum Hill Country Retreat for five nights with our two boys (12) & (9)It was the loveliest place, well equiped with everything you need. The house was so clean and comfortable. The spa was amazing, cleaned regularly and perfect temps. The grounds were lovely and very peaceful, loved seeing the Roos and hearing the birds. The owners were very helpful and attentive. Lovely break away, would highly recommend and will hopefully be back soon!
