Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cet hôtel.
Le personnel était très professionnel et agréable, toujours à l’écoute. Les services proposés sont très qualitatifs.
Les restaurants / bar sont de même très accueillants et qualitatifs.

Rooms were nice, but a bit outdated.

location. great food and pleasure environment

Perfect ski in location. Lovely spa area and a cool bar and restaurant area.
Breakfast could do with a bit more variety and single beds very small. Rooms a little small as well.

A lovely hotel in a perfect location in Val Thorens with great decor. The pool and spa facilities look out onto the mountain. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. The car concierge service is a great when you arrive in the winter months.
It's obviously an expensive area and peak skiing season, but two nights at the hotel were very expensive for the size of the actual bedroom.

We had very good stay. The hotel is literally on the slopes so we could snowboard just right out the door. The hotel has really young vibe and we enjoyed that. There were quite many options for breakfast. Facilities for everything are very good.
We did get to meet the manager of the hotel and she was super friendly and attentive to make sure we had a great stay.
We had massages and it was a very pleasant experience to recover after the day on the mountain. We were able to book massage on the same day which was rather surprising to have the availability for us. There is a couples room that has heated massage boards. Don’t expect super firm massage but the recovery massage really works and does wonders.
The hotel can really take care of your ski luggage and park the car. It’s a good option since you might spend quite some time looking for a spot in almost full garage.
The restaurant plays some great tunes from 80’s. The bar had a great Negroni and wine options were very good.
We did have to open the door to get some fresh air through the night and we could hear quite some people partying long hours but that seems to be the nature of this ski town.
Spa area will be busy.

+ the Location is excellent, very central
+ the interior design is beautiful
+ the staff at the hotel is very kind and friendly
+ very nice view from the rooms that have a view
+ Diptyque amentinies in the room
- The prices are ridiculous, we paid over 1300€ for three nights (including a bid upgrade) and had a superior family room. It really wasn’t a special room by any means, very small. The room was super dusty as well.
- The windows in the rooms are quite old so you hear a lot from outside if there’s a party. I do have to say there were only parties during the day which was okay. I don’t know how that is on weekends though.
- Anything extra is overpriced too. Think 9€ for a minibar beer or 10€ for a water in the restaurant. I ordered a Parmesan salad (stated as a main dish in the restaurant menu) for 16€ which was literally lettuce with some Parmesan - absolutely nothing else, not even dressing.
- Communication with the staff before arrival was horrible. We had some difficulties with our booking, wanted to extend, the hotel said to extend on booking.com where they then denied the extension and basically forced us to book through them. When we needed other info before arrival they sometimes didn’t respond to e-Mails or only when we sent a second follow up email asking for an answer. The lack of smooth and efficient communication made me invest hours before arriving just to get answers from them.
All in all Le Val Thorens is a soulless, mediocre place to stay. I really wanted to love it as it seems like such a good place, but unfortunately our experience was anything but amazing. It’s one of those places where a lot of money has been put into appearance but none into customer experience. I hope they will work on the way they communicate with customers and get their price-performance ratio right.
That being said, I barely ever write „bad“ reviews but I simply felt like the hotel didn’t put any effort into making up for the bad experience we had already before checking in.

beautiful property in the perfect location, nice facilities and really tastefully designed. great ski room!
very inconsistent service levels, good one day, terrible the next. lots of staff seem new and clueless. very poor breakfast offering. we ate out every night as I felt the staff issues would lead to a very disappointing dinner.
4.3
nice rooms and excellent location, right on the pists
Total chaos at breakfast with the staff not being able to cope with people, running out of food, plates, glasses, places to accomodate people, etc…also one night there was a fire alarm at 2am for an issue in the kitchen and the night after a blackout in the rooms for a few hours. No apologies or explanations were provided for either incident.

Hotel - The hotel and rooms are beautiful and very comfortable.
Location - This hotel has the best location in VT, as the boot room access is right next to the top of the magic carpet lift in the resort.
Food - We stayed half-board and the food in the main restaurant was exceptional.
Staff - The staff were all very friendly, particularly in the restaurant.
Food - As it was early in the season, only a few people were staying half-board (meaning the restaurant was very quiet for most of the week). We asked if we could eat from the bar one night - even if that meant a limited menu - because we wanted a change of scenery and were told by the restaurant this was fine but the bar staff would not allow it. In a 4* hotel where we are paying half board, I would expect more flexibility on this.
We also chose to eat in the fondue restaurant on our last night and I would have expected this restaurant, as it is part of the hotel, to be subsidised for guests paying for half-board. We were told that it was by reception when we booked the dinner, but then were told it wasn’t when we came to check out and settle our bill.
We were also told it was not possible to order room service (one of us was ill for 2 days so didn't want to go out to eat), even though room service food was advertised. We were happy to pay for this in addition to the half-board, but were told even this was not possible.
Staff - It would have been helpful if they had some more local knowledge (of bars/restaurants). I think for most it was their first season in VT (and we were there opening week for the resort), but if they were prepared with some of these answers at reception then it would improve the customer experience for guests looking for recommendations. And the conflicting messages about what/wasn’t allowed re. the restaurants as mentioned above was not what you would expect at a 4* hotel.

Hotel Le Val Thorens is just fantastic. The 70’s vibe is cool & makes it very individual. Staff are excellent - so polite, helpful & keen to make sure they go the extra mile to make your stay a success. Rooms are practical, stylish, spacious, clean & comfortable. Restaurants - Brasserie & Fondue are excellent. Location is amazing - absolutely on the piste in the centre of the town, but don’t be concerned - we were never woken once with any noise or disturbance!!
We loved it all!! We’ll certainly return & will recommend it to friends - especially for guaranteed snow at Christmas.

Helpfull staff and excellent location
Lack of attention from the cleaning staff. Coffee machine is useless if they never replaced the coffee capsules. No daily replacements for the missing bottles in the minibar.
4.3
loved the location, the interior, good breakfast, good bar/food.
wish it had an actual hot tub but the sauna and pool did the job. maybe have the option of room service (this wasn’t really a thing only sometimes) not one to complain about pillows but felt like during the night they didn’t go down enough so my neck would be off.

Central location, there are bars, restaurants, shops. A ski lift is nearby. The spa has a swimming pool and sauna with very good outdoor views. There was free coffee and tea in the room, which was wonderful.
It was cold in the bathroom. The shower flowed very little and the water was not very warm.
