I’m sorry but I never write a review but I’m doing it. And it’s going to be a real nasty one ., I’ll never remove it even if they offer me a discount.
We stayed over 10 days at their 4 bedroom suite which cost us over euro41,000. For this amount of money, we’re expecting good service, good staff, good process at check in, good concerige service. Prior to check in we had arranged a number of bookings eg ski lessons, airport transfers with concerige via email which was all initiated by us. There was no proactivness from the hotel at all. After check in,there’s no reminder to the guests to summarize our schedule or our bookings.. this is where the chaos starts. Bookings with the ski school was miscommunicated, overlaps of ski lessons as a result we are left being charged cancellation fees. Names of our kids at the ski school were made wrong, age were mixed up for our kids, horrible experience for my kids too as the instructors told them they weren’t booked in.
The worst of it all is our bill. Towards the end of our trip, because we had two different families at this stay, we had asked them to separate our bills. The family that left earlier had clear their bill. They then tried to charge us again for what was owe - over 3,800 euro. They tried to charge us an extra night of the hotel which is over 3,000 euro (but our entire booking was already paid via booking.com). There was a random 250 euro dining bill put to our room which was not ours. The bill from the ski school was wrong, charged us extra (obviously!). The last 3 days of our stay, we had received a new invoice with a different amount .. I had them all printed.
I’ve never experienced this at any other 5 star hotel.
What’s most disappointing and frustrating - with all the back and forth with reception on the bill which clearly there is error on their part, not one apology! Every time I called to try and explain, they just kept interrupting, justifying and would not listen to the guest.

People at ski room and restorant were very friendly and experienced.

The staff go above and beyond, even when there are some mistakes make or hiccups occur you can see the difference between real 5 stars and not in how the staff are proactive in solving them and to meet and exceed guest expectations. This is the type of place you want to come back to.

What can I say? There are no words to describe the excellent level of customer service, the staff were absolutely brilliant. When staying 5 star I often find staff a bit stiff and formal. Not here. Here, they were personable and down to earth, whilst still addressing me by name every time I saw them.
The bar staff were so friendly and knowledgeable, the reception and concierge staff went over and above as did the ski hire staff and shuttle drivers.
The shuttle bus was brilliant, as the hotel ski in, ski out was a bit steep for me. They dropped me off, right to the lift, and picked me up from the same place. You didn't need to book it, you just turned up at reception and off you went.
The steam room could have been turned on a little earlier.

Great location on the slope, with an excellent shuttle service if needed. The Hotel is quite new, well maintained and clean. Excellent facilities, good restaurant and the most friendly staff. It also includes a rental shop for ski’s. If I go back to Val Thorens I will definitely be going again to this amazing hotel.

Excellent and convenient hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Great service from everyone. Very comfortable room with a great view of the pistes. Would definitely visit again.
The spa area was great, but the hamman wasn't working and the outside jacuzzi was closed. The price I paid for 2 guests was a little expensive for the facilities available.

The staff was extremely friendly, especially at the reception. They arranged a ride back to Geneva for a flight out. Even a simple coffee was always served with a smile. Over-all expectations.

Breakfast, shuttle bus, friendly staff, ski shop on site with helpful staff, comfortable beds.
Hot tub always full…maybe introduce a rota system. Would welcome a bar snack menu for more relaxed eating options, found ski out easy but ski in tricky. Shuttle bus made up for it though!

All the meals were first class. The wine list was extensive. Spa facilities very clean and massages excellent. Loved the décor, cosiness, log fire in the bar, outdoor jacuzzi and hot tub where we could watch people trying to ski down the piste having been to La Folie Douce (hilarious). Hotel ski shop very convenient and good equipment, lockers and ski in ski out facilities a dream! Room excellent- clean, spacious, great balcony and view.
Would have loved some proper English Breakfast tea - but that was my only criticism!

Breakfast was lovely. Large selection and great service.
You are the top side of Val Thorens, most restaurants are within walking distance or if not, the shuttle provides a free drop off and pick up service.

A truly unbelievable experience. From the sympathy of all the staff to the comfort of the room and hotel services this has been a great experience. We felt instantly at "home" with the kindness and overwhelming availability of everyone that works at the hotel. The hotel has everything you need for a perfect winter/snow vacation. The bar and sundeck have an amazing atmosphere. The Spa has a lot of options and makes the perfect ending for a day of skiing or a day of relaxation and recovery. There is no need to go out for meals as the hotel has several options with excellent food and service (including a Michelin Star restaurant). The staff at the in-house ski shop where also amazing providing all the help and tips to enjoy the mountain in the best way. I absolutely loved our stay at the Pashmina Le Refuge and if I go back to Val Thorens there is no doubt that this will be my first choice again.
There was nothing about the hotel that I didn't like.
