Ein sehr schöne Unterkunft für einen Aufenthalt in Harwich.

Es war sehr schön, sehr gemütlich und persönlich im Alma Inn. Die Einrichtung und liebe zum Detail hat es besonders gemacht. Auch das Essen und die Atmosphäre im hauseigenen Pub war hervorragend.

Es gab nichts auszusetzen.

Goed om hier een nachtje te verblijven voor we de boot naar Nederland namen. Hotel boekte een tact voor ons, ging super!

Comfortabel kort verblijf

Ruime comfortabele kamer met een prachtige badkamer. Op de kamer geen overlast van de luidruchtige bar op de begane grond. De bar zelf is erg gezellig met vrolijke mensen en bediening, prima keuken ook. Ontbijt is ook goed.

Parkeren op een openbare parkeerplaats aan de boulevard. Van 18 - 8 uur gratis. Is die vol kan het even zoeken worden in de smalle straatjes rond het hotel.

Atmospheric Inn a stone’s throw from the port.

Location & ambiance. An Inn full of character with an excellent team running the show. Well done. Great proximity to the port. Thank you for a convenient overnight.

No customer parking. Difficult when the car is packed to the gunnels. My husband found a space on the front & thankfully all was well. The area seemed safe.

Great visit!

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff; the quirkiness of the accommodation and the good food.

The bathroom door stuck. It would have been better if there were a couple of chairs in the room.

A brilliant overnight stay before catching our sailing barge to view the Clacton air show the following day.barge

Amazing character, the inn being over 400 years old in a fabulous setting in the older part of Harwich port. Quirky nooks and crannies with modern facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent

Most enjoyable stay. I would certainly stay hear again.

Very friendly, room was great and breakfast and evening meal most enjoyable. Plenty of free cool bottled water which was a nice touch particularly when the weather is hot.

Everything, the rooms, the staff, the bar, the ambience, the food, the beer, are outstanding. I cannot praise this establishment highly enough, every time I stay there I am blown away.

Handy for the ferry. Only one stop away on the train.

Staff were friendly. The decor in the room was nice, it looked like a lot had been spent on it. There were a lot of small extras. coffee machine, good soap and moisturising cream, bottled water. It looked like it had a good selection of fish dishes in the restaurant downstairs but I had already eaten so did not try any.

It was above a pub, as you can guess from the name, but the pub wasn't noisy, so in practise it did not disturb me.

Very kind management! Dinner was fantastic! Because we had ferry very early, they gave us a bag with fantastic breakfast!

Lovely modern bedroom and bathroom within an old world period style buiding. Excellent full english breakfast with great mugs of coffee. Fantastic lunch, very good fresh fish dishes and quality homemade food.

We could not find fault, although, stairs might be a problem for people with mobility issues. Perfect hotel for our stay.

The comfiest, friendliest and most relaxed stay in a long time

The homey feel hotel far away from home. Staying at ALMA was amazing. I felt so comfortable, cozy and taken care of. They helped me with my luggage, gave me extra water and was of good assistance if I needed anything urgent. Even though I showed up late for breakfast I still received it, they made me feel so relaxed and welcome. I was able to destress from a very tiring work trip so it was nice to just lean back and take a breather. I already miss staying at this cozy hotel. Even though I dont live in Harwich (I live in Spain), I would probably travel there in the near future just to visit the hotel again. The people there are the friendliest people Ive ever met and the energies at this place was fantastic. Hope to come back there one day! If you are ever in Harwich stay at ALMA - You will not regret it! :-)

Very friendly, arrived tired with our dog and were immediately made welcome.

Had to leave early for the Stena Line ferry, wish we had been able to have a proper breakfast. Would have been convenient if the restaurant had opened at 7:00

It’s a truly authentic, individual and locally run hotel/pub/restaurant, with an excellent kitchen

The location is perfect and deservedly the best place in town. Breakfast was excellent. Beautifully cooked and flexible in timing.

The Alma was one of the best places I've stayed in the Uk

The Alma Inn was a delightful surprise. The room and bed were perfect, the staff were always helpful and the restaurant provided an excellent menu and food. I felt very well looked after from the moment I arrived until my early departure to take the ferry to the Hook of Holland.

This is a gorgeous 15th Century Inn so the stairs are steep. I had no difficulties although a member of staff carried my bags up them to my room when I arrived.
