Perfect location. Outstanding value. Great service.

I’ve skied several times in Gudauri … and will certainly return to Hotel Donata. The location is just perfect. Ski in/out and a short walk to ski rental (arranged by the hotel, with discount), lift pass sales and chairlift. There's a room at the hotel set aside for skis and boots. My bedroom with mountain views was bright, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There's a kettle in the room but not tea/coffee - remember to bring your own or buy at the nearby supermarket. This isn’t a luxury hotel, but a well-run family establishment that offers personal service and a warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly, helpful staff - special thanks to Anuka and Georgi for making my stay so special. The Donata’s bar, with log fire, floor-to-ceiling windows and soft sofas, was a perfect place to unwind, enjoy a drink (and meal - the borsch was terrific) while watching the sun go down behind the stunning mountains of Gudauri. I found dinner tasty and reasonably-priced while the included breakfast, served in the hotel dining room, was all I needed for a day on the mountain. The hotel has a sun-facing terrace with outstanding views. If it’s bars and nightlife you’re after, you might be drawn to New Gudauri ten minutes drive up the hill. Having said that, the Donata is a short walk from several restaurants, supermarket and the bus stop if you are catching the marshrutka to/from Tbilisi. And it still manages to be in a quiet, safe spot away from the main road. Overall, the Donata delivered excellent value for money, exceeded my expectations and ticked all the boxes for an ideal ski getaway. Highly recommended.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, decent facilities. A few hundred meters from the entrance to the lift and 100 meters from the trace itself (lower 5% of it). Ski rental inside the hotel with decent equipment. On the downside - no sauna or pool inside the hotel, location is far from perfect (need winter tires to get to hotel entrance, or go few last hundreds meters by foot). Everyone suggests New Gadauri, however its more windy out there. No elevator inside the hotel (meaning you have to carry your luggage not only uphill to hotel entrance, but also to your room floor), bell boy and ski rental guys are slow, need to spend too much time asking for assistance. Room wasn't serviced for 3 days, even though they commit to clean every 2 days. They were also unable to order a taxi because their driver was unavailable and they didnt want to take the effort to find a different one (which apparently was just outside of the hotel, and they knew his details). Our friend made reservation mistake, and booked a room for the wrong dates. They promised to help, in vain, and few hours later secured their last room to a different guest, which made us absolutely furious. Breakfast and kitchen are 2*.

The number one thing is the noise. It’s not soundproof at all and I could here every thing that was going around inside and outside the hotel.

Very good

Good location: near the ski-lift, far enough from the road. Clean room, comfortable bed.

The breakfast was quite frugal. It was difficult to find the drive way to the hotel.

Very nice staff, large room on a good location.

Just a small complain, don't let this stop you from booking. The place was a bit difficult to find. Like others mentioned in their reviews, our navigation tried to navigate us via an nonexistent road. They also should improve the unpaved road towards their hotel, it was pretty bumpy.

Hospitality by Lewan needs special mention. He's been so kind and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is also well maintained and looks pretty new.

very poor sound isolation, even on upper floor music is heard from the basement all night long. quite cold on the upper floor, and please bring some decent coffee for breakfast!

Perfect location

Location is excelent. Just near to the first lift in old Gudauri.

Karaoke bar is just below the rooms. But if you like to party this is ok.

Hotel with good access to the ski lifts

Hotel directly on a slope of Gudauri, what we liked: - excellent access to the slops and hotel rental - nice rooms, comfy beds - good communication with hostel manager - short way to the main road (no need for extra taxi, or long walk to the buses, shop and restaurants)

Breakfast should be improved, quality of food as well as variety (eggs are okay but why not serve guests scramble eggs or some freshly fried meat or famous georgian chachapuri), they okay ok but rather simple. It was noisy in the night - it was difficult to sleep as people are partying in the rooms and noise isolation is not great.

The location was hard to reach by the car due to black ice. No free water was provided with the breakfast. No hot water in the shower

Would definitely come again

The staff in the hotel is super nice and willing to help with any request. Rooms are more than OK, hot water all the time, the heating worked well. The room was cleaned every two days, and they brought us new towels. Breakfast is nothing fancy but good enough for the day. Dinner is very good and you should definitely come to the bar in the evening! Highly recommended overall. And Ski In Ski out!!!

A good place to stay

The hotel was very pretty, the room was comfortable and inexpensive. I really enjoyed the balconies and mountain views.

The hotel is a little hard to reach for a low clearance car. It's also hard to find using Google maps. There also wasn't a ton of space to park and I believe the listing said breakfast included but there wasn't.
