The house and its access to a wonderful lake was magnificent. The access to a couple of canoes, a couple of kayaks, a couple of paddle boards and a paddle boat was wonderful. Our two grandchildren had wonderful time and enjoyed many hours on the lake, as did their parents and us (their grandparents). The house was comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. We look forward to coming back!

The entire family enjoyed our vacation on lake Eden. The fishing was exceptional, the kids had a great time catching and releasing. The property had enough water craft for everyone to utilize at the same time so no one was left on shore. At times it felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves. I appreciated that certain water crafts are not allowed on the lake. The insode of the home had enough space for all of us and places to escape too if a little quiet time was desired. A screened in dining area was a big hit.

This property was outstanding! The setting on the lake was beautiful and we enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards, canoes and pedal boat. The house was roomy and had everything we needed. There was a multitude of games for all ages, a huge gas grill, wood for the fire pit, very comfortable beds and lots of kitchen equipment. The owner was very responsive. We’re looking forward to returning next year!

We stayed over Presidents Day weekend with two families consisting of 4 adults and 6 kids. The layout of the house provided ample space for us to spread out as well as spend quality time together. The property is beautiful and the proximity to Jay Peak was great. By the second day we realized we were close enough to just gear up for skiing at the house, which made the whole process so easy. The house was well appointed and comfortable and we really enjoyed our visit.

We loved staying here!
Well equipped kitchen, and lots of space!
We had 3 adults and 3 teenagers and were very comfortable.
20-30 min drive to Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
Very quiet. We all slept well.

October is a beautiful time of year to stay at this location. The colors were gorgeous. We watched the hills across the lake like it was a breath taking movie. It was a bit chilly to kayak or canoe, but they were both offered for our weeks stay. It did rain during our stay which caused us to cozy up with a fire. We enjoyed games with hot apple cider.
The location is away from it all, which is a plus. There’s a Country General Store close by for grocery needs.
Lorae was a text away for communication if we needed her.
We were in the area to see Covered Bridges during the Leaf Peeping season. We saw 12 covered bridges which were in beautiful settings.
Thank you Lorae! We enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful Location and views - right on Lake Eden (quiet and private) and close to hiking trails, breweries, shopping, and much more. Property was large and open with plenty of room for two families of four both inside and out. We had a fantastic time. Would highly recommend.

This property is perfect for extended family to stay. Everyone can have their own space and privacy but the hub of the house is perfect to come together. Location is excellent. The lake is wonderful. The Mountain View was continually changing. Fully equipped property!

Our family had a great vacation at Eden lake. For the last few years our extended family has take a week long vacation together and our stay at Northern Lights was one of the best yet. The house is great, spacious and a layout that allows you to see the yard and the lake even when you are in the kitchen. There is an abundance of things to do outside in the huge yard and our kids had a great time playing lawn games, hunting for bugs and exploring the stream next to the house. We had a lot of rain during our stay and even with the lake flooded we had plenty of other things to do inside and outside. The lake is peaceful and beautiful and the homeowners provided more boats than any other home we have stayed at. We loved cruising around the lake and swimming out to the floating dock. Highly recommend this home if you are planning a trip to VT.

Great house on a big lot with beautiful views. The common space is large, light, and clean, with plenty of room to spread out and socialize. Modern kitchen with everything you'd want. 30 minutes to Jay Peak. We will have to come back in the summer for some water fun. Thanks!

Lorae's home was not only incredibly beautiful, but it was also incredibly convenient! 30 minutes to Jay, 30 minutes to Stowe, and 40 minutes to smuggs. More than enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably and spend time together, plus the 20 acres of secluded property on a beautiful lake really through this place over the top. I hope we come up with a reason to come back sooner than later, thank you!

We loved our time at this property! The house was a wonderful place to unwind together after a day of skiing.

Some friends and I stayed here for our annual ski trip and couldn’t have enjoyed our experience more. It was 40 mins to Stowe Mountain which worked perfectly and gave us ample choices for an après ski on our way back to the house. Lorae was communicative and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our trip, including detailed instructions on how to use/access everything in the home. Thank you, Lorae and family!

Unfortunately, we experienced an emergency upon arrival. The owner was extremely helpful in resolving the situation. She was in touch with us throughout the ordeal. She was very accommodating and helpful. We never got to see the house, but we are hopeful to return to the property soon!

Home was great for visiting Stowe area. On lovely lake & beautiful views! Clean and very well stocked kitchen! Only thing we could not find was a vegetable peeler but we could have overlooked it! We were able to kick back & relax!

We stayed at this fabulous property on Lake Eden for 3 days in mid September. We were in the area for a family wedding which happened to be right next door. So the location was perfect. The house had plenty of room for our family of 7 to spread out. The separate apartment as the fourth bedroom was a bonus. The lake was beautiful and we took advantage of the kayaks for exploring the lake.

The views of Eden Lake and surrounding hills were incredible. The house was as advertised and had everything the six of us needed. The bed in the apartment along with the pillows could use to be upgraded but other than that everything was great. I would recommend the house and we’re already talking about going back.

Do not have enough superlatives to describe this property. Location is fantastic. House is in great shape and the entire property is exquisite. Amenities abound that include multiple kayaks and a paddleboard. The decks and dock are in great shape. The host was a pleasure to interact with and made us feel welcome from the start. Highly recommend. We hope to be back.

Our week at the Northern Lights Retreat was just what we had hoped it would be! The views from every room of the lake, green mountains, trees and loons were fabulous! Our group of 5 long time friends gathered for our annual vacation. The kitchen was the best equipped we’ve experienced! The waterfront was well outfitted with canoes, paddle boat, kayaks, floatation devices and more! Campfire was enjoyable. The layout was spacious and relaxing. We felt like we were back at a deluxe camp! Hikes at Moss Glen Falls, Sterling Gorge and Devil’s Gultch were all fabulous and family friendly! One day we had lunch at the Trapp Family Lodge and visited Cabot’s Farm Store along with Ben & Jerry’s. Distilleries and breweries were nice stops! Another warm day we rafted down the Winooski River- Home Town Tours and Taxi was our Raft Taxi and rental of tubes. Joy was very helpful! Highly recommend her services. Plenty of seating inside and out. Screened sun porch was perfect for evening dinners. Well stocked paper products, clean house, helpful instructive notes around home! We loved our week stay in your home. Would not hesitate to return! Slightly tricky to watch movies, but if we figured it out… you can too! DVDs & puzzles provided! Lorae was exceptional communicator. Thanks!

The house is immaculate and well stocked. The privacy, the large yard, and the waterfront was perfect for our families enjoyment. We did some nice moderate hikes nearby and also found the town of Stowe to be close enough to enjoy it's amenities. We have now rented 2 years in a row and have been very happy each time.

Third year and wonderful memories
The property is wonderful! We absolutely love it there. The house is perfect for multi-gen families - very spacious. The paddle boat is the best for post dinner cruise with the kids! Having come for three years in a row we do feel like the house is due for some maintenance. But overall the house is amazing!

We spent a wonderful week with our two adult children, their spouse, and significant other. Lorea’s house was easily the best vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in! A beautiful location on a very peaceful lake with the canoe and kayaks being great ways to explore - absolutely no boat traffic other than a few fishers. The kitchen was very well equipped and the additional refrigerator was a nice extra. Eating our meals in the screened porch overlooking the lake was a favorite. Did some fly fishing near Stowe and played golf at Jay Peake - a beautiful course that we had all to ourselves! Also close to some great hikes. We’re already discussing when to return! Thanks Lorea!

Beautiful house and awesome view of Lake Eden and the mountains. It was so tranquil and relaxing. It was still a little chilly so we didn't get to enjoy the waters of Lake Eden. There was a paddle boat available but with my children are still on the younger side so we opted to just stay on land. Lorae was great. Sent along the instructions a few days prior to our stay. Instructions for getting into the house was easy to understand. Getting into the house was very easy and smooth. Love all the extra amenities like kitchenware and utensils. I had everything I needed to make home cook dinners. She also supplied shampoo and soap and had a ton of bug spray and sunscreen. My daughters loved it and had such a blast in the loft over the garage. Wifi was great. No cable available. The TV was hard to navigate for Netflix etc. It is best if you bring an ipad or watch on your phone. I essentially didn't need the TV because view of the lake and mountains was so beautiful.

This home is a gem. We were a group of friends from around New England who hadn't gotten together in a long time. The sleeping options, the well equipped kitchen, the living room area and dining room table were perfect. It was a rainy weekend in mud season, and the house was the perfect gathering spot. We'd love to return in the warmer weather to take advantage of the decks and lake. All of our needs and questions were taken care of to make the stay a great experience. Highly recommend.

Can't wait to visit again!
The property was gorgeous and looks even better than the pictures (if you can imagine). Was the perfect place for a ski trip to Jay Peak, for skiers and nonskiers who relaxed in the house with enough space and beautiful views. All of us cannot wait to go back, hopefully in the summer so we can enjoy the lake. Lorae was also a wonderful host and very responsive. All of the teenagers LOVED the property and said they'd like to own a house just like it one day.

Our stay was great. There are ample amenities locally even though the property feels isolated and remote. All of the living spaces were spacious and fostered a great group environment for our party of 9. Cooking was easy as was laundry and check out. The apartment was a great space for members of our group who had to work remotely one day.

Perfect for large families
We really enjoyed staying at this house. The host was responsive. The house had enough space for two families. We were able to drive daily to Jakes for skiing. Drive is about 35 min.
Unfortunately, we had to check out early because of an impending storm in Boston. We wish we stayed longer. We would come back to this house. Highly recommend!
