Ein echtes Highlight! Das Hotel liegt sehr schön am Strand. Das Abendessen und Frühstück war sehr lecker, das Personal super nett. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Good!

Staff: welcoming, friendly
Service: polite, prompt
Pub: nice vibe; didn’t try the food which sounded gastronomic but breakfast was average
Location: perfect for walking The SWCP.
Beds: in need of new mattresses
Room: was cold. Luckily, I had a twin room to myself so used both quilts on top of each other.
No chair in the room so had to perch on bed to watch TV/write my diary.
Info book didn’t give you the WiFi code. I asked for it in the pub and got it there from the always willing and smiley staff.
4.3
Sehr gute Lage, sehr sauber, sehr sehr freundliches Personal, der Pub gleich unten drin mit sehr leckerem Essen
Das Bett war sehr weich, aber ich habe trotzdem gut geschlafen.

Friendly staff. Beach location. Comfortable bed. Adequate bathroom facilities. Very clean. Great breakfast.
Parking was a pain as nearest paid parking is a 300yds walk. Some noise from bar of an evening.
4.3
Perfect for an affordable family break for the weekend.
Warm, clean, facilities , good food
Live music was a little loud ( only the sat night ) but we expected this as we booked rooms above a pub and we used to live above a pub , so wasn't a big deal but others may find it to loud
4.3
Warm and friendly feel
Nowt all good

Ontbijt was goed, aardige mensen. Wij liepen het SWCP, prima tussenstop.
Etenslucht in de kamer.

The staff without exception were brilliant. So welcoming, attentive and caring. The food was good and the overall ambience of the Wayfarer is warm and friendly.
Nothing

So much better than expected; clean, modern, friendly and comfortable. Much better than the photos portray.
Maybe somewhere to brush the sand off your shoes.
4.3
Staff was so friendly and helpful. Delicious vegan breakfast. steps away from the beach.
Bathroom was a little bit dated.
4.3
The location
Rooms extremely dated, dirty, plug socket hanging off wall, light socket for bed light broken, lamp didn’t work, mould and damp in room. Breakfast disappointing, even though I contacted before arrival to inform I was gluten free, they tried giving me out of date cereal, fruit selection very poor, was given gluten free porridge but not very nice. Scrambled egg well over cooked and the gluten free bread has been in freezer that long it was disgusting.

Total hidden gem. Beautiful views great staff. Lovely food menu and cracking brekki. Bang on for transport links. Room was lovely and spacious to with a very good shower
One side of the bed quite uncomfortable hubby has AS and I just swapped sides

Food was excellent and plentiful, lovely room at the top but the stairs were hard work
Parking closer

As Dog owners the Wayfarer was in a fabulous location, everywhere was dog friendly, the staff were really lovely and friendly, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, room was spacious and very clean, good choice of food and plenty of it, would recommend especially for dog families.
mattress was a bit tired on one side of bed, (hubby,s side !!) and i would have liked my toast to have with marmalade
put on a separate plate and not put on the same plate as my cooked breakfast. stairs to room quite steep but nothing you can do about that, old age and dicky knees in my case.!!
4.3
location was just right, breakfasts were great - room lovely decor, and comfortable
little room grandkids used with the bunk beds felt damp - in actual fact their clothes after hanging in the little wardrobe felt very damp in the morning - think there may be a damp issue in that little room
4.3
Spacious room with sea view well located just off the beach in Instow. Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable bed.
Shower room was a little gloomy. Tea making facilities were situated in a very high cupboard so that I had to stand on a chair to plug in kettle and make tea. Rubbish on top of wardrobe. The front of the building was rather untidy with bins etc very visible
4.3
Nice to support a struggling pub. Close to beach.
Parking was a 7 minute walk away along dark and unlit roads.

Hotel is just off the beach, dog friendly, comfortable bed, lovely staff and a fantastic breakfast
Green fire/emergency light in room was a bit annoying.

The staff are so lovely at this place. It’s our 3rd year staying here on our way to Cornwall and we have booked again for next year. We got a lovely welcoming hug from one of the bar ladies who recognised us instantly. The bar staff were friendly and efficient.
The roast dinner is second to none. The veg in particular reminded me of my Irish mothers cooking. Breakfast was included in the price and was huge and of high quality, with the offer of another coffee and more toast. My kids had the pancakes and loved them. This place really feels so welcoming and we always look forward to our stay here. We have yet to be let down by the food and staff. Really happy to recommend to anyone that wants a no fuss but very comfortable and clean place to stay.
Nothing.

Great location. We were walking the SWCP so right on the path. Room were basic but clean and spacious. Ww has breakfast and dinner both days and food is amazing here. Between us we orders 4 different mains over 2 nights and everything was delicious.
One morning at breakfast we were sat next to a could with two very large dogs. Literally no room to move and one was practically on my feet. They then started to interact a little aggressively with another smaller dog! As they enter long haired dogs they were also a little smelly which wasn’t ideal when eating. No issue with dogs at all just think owners or staff could have intervened and asked to move to a more spacious area in the restaurant!

Location location location. Very Friendly staff. Large, comfortable room. Great food including gluten free options. Walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. All this and dog friendly too. A perfect break for us.
It’s understandably popular which meant that finding somewhere quiet to sit and eat was quite challenging even during the early part of the week. Luckily we were able to use the beer garden as the weather was good.

Great location - a stones’s throw from the beach. Nice, comfortable room and lovely evening meals. Very friendly staff made us feel welcome.
Breakfast was a bit disorganised due (I think) to a key staff member being away? This resulted in some menu options being unavailable (ie; hash browns) because the staff who were filling-in (who did well by the way) couldn’t find or access all the ingredients. Oh, and the sausage tasted awful - both myself and my partner had to leave them after one mouthful.

Excellent place to stay. Room had a great view. Excellent to be able to have dinner and a couple of drinks and then go upstairs to our room. Breakfast in the morning was very fulfilling setting us up for the day
Only thing was that the bed was squeaky
4.3
Good breakfast and good range of drinks. Very close to the beach. Very pleasant staff with a good sense of humour. Excellent evening meal.
Hardly anything not to like. The stairs were a bit steep and narrow, but didnt cause us any problems.
4.3
Got a warm welcome from the friendly staff. The location is very good just fifty yards or so from the very wide and expansive beach at Instow in a narrow side street. The room was comfortable with great tea and coffee choices.
The bar restaurant is great too with an excellent choice of locally caught seafood at very reasonable prices from Appledore which you can see across the estuary. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked with coffee and tea top-ups offered.
We really enjoyed the experience and can highly recommend the Wayfarer and Instow if you want to experience a slightly less travelled part of beautiful North Devon, especially if you're a dog owner as this beach is heaven for them as they can enjoy the freedom safely..... easily accessible for you too.
It didn't bother us but be aware parking is at the cricket club by permit (free), a pleasant five minutes stroll along the beach or by pavement if you prefer.

Very clean and fantastic breakfast, beds super comfortable and staff very friendly . Superb location next to the beach.
