10-15 minutes walking distance to JR station
10 minutes walking distance to Kumoba Pond, and Old Karuizawa center.
The hotel is a bit old school but in a good way. The room is spacious.

+ The pictures of rooms on the platform/website might be outdated because the actual rooms were much better vs the room pictures provided
+ Very clean room that is fully featured
+ Good value for the deal we got
+ Really quaint outdoor area
+ Free parking with plenty of parking space with multiple carparks
+ Very helpful staff
- Getting around the hotel can be abit of a maze due to the addition of new buildngs.
- The tablet that manages private bath bookings isn't updated to reflect the addition of the new hotel wing. Hence the recommendations for the closest baths to your room are outdated. Check the locations of the nearest bath to your room via the hotel map to save on walking the hotel end to end!
- Some guests tend to overstay their private bath booking timings and eat into the next. Though not sure if there's anything the hotel can do!

GOOD BREAKFAST !
4.5
Having recently experienced the quintessential charm of the Karuizawa Elegance Hotel, a classic Japanese establishment nestled in the heart of Karuizawa, I find myself utterly captivated by its unique blend of heritage and hospitality.
However, the true triumph of Karuizawa Elegance Hotel is undeniably its breakfast. A gastronomic symphony that begins at the break of dawn, it is an exhibition of craftsmanship that showcases the bounty of Karuizawa's verdant lands. The meticulous care and passion that go into the preparation of each dish are palpable in every mouthful, offering an unparalleled culinary journey through the heart of Japan.
The staff's knowledge and pride in their local produce, coupled with their warm, unpretentious service, add a charming personal touch to the entire breakfast experience, making it truly unforgettable.
It is this combination of authenticity, locally-sourced cuisine, and heartwarming service that make the Karuizawa Elegance Hotel stand out as a beacon of traditional Japanese hospitality. My stay was nothing short of extraordinary and has left an indelible mark on my memory, a testament to the timeless allure of this venerable establishment.

Wonderful staff that went above and beyond. We had the breakfast included and it was delicious with lots of great options on the buffet. The town was a really nice place to wander around, and the hotel was fairly close to the station too which was convenient.

Breakfast is amazing and the staff is very friendly.

The breakfast is really good and something different from other hotels. The arrangement of the restaurant is also beautiful,
The hotel is not serving dinner so we have to find a place to eat outside the hotel but the good thing was the Spanish restaurant is just in front of the hotel so we didn’t have a hard time looking for a place to eat.

This hotel is a great little find. Located about 10 minute walk from the station and 10 minute walk from the shopping area, it has a little old world elegance to it, complete with wooden beams and beautiful stained glass. The staff were so kind and welcoming when I arrived, even going to the point of looking up the weather for me, as they were concerned I would be cold outside. The breakfast was filling and delicious with a range of food for everyone from steamed broccoli to miso soup to potato au gratin to French toast.

it was way better than we expected. Everything was perfect only friendly feedback is that if you renewal the bathtub/shower/powder room it’d be best.

The hotel is in a really perfect location. It is near to the Modern Art Museum, near the main road that have lots of interesting stores and cafes right and left, walking distance to the Station and Outlet Shopping Center. It is hidden a bit from the main road so it is not so loud with cars and traffic sound, and they have parking space right in front of the hotel.

40.000 per night…too expensive

4.5
The hotel itself was clean, quiet, reasonably priced, and near enough to the things we wanted to do. The staff spoke to us and gave excellent recommendations for new things to do on top of our loose plan.
There was no real downside, but as there was no elevator and it was some distance from the station, some groups may have difficulties with larger bags on the upper floors. However, we had no issue ourselves.

Staff was excellent and very polite. Very comfortable beds. Chairs in the room very comfortable. Overall a great ambiance. Very close to the main shopping street
