Beautifully presented warm heritage home with stunning harbour views. Photos on walls show the history of both the house and Eastbourne itself. If you are looking for a place to chill then this is it. Continous mains pressure hot water makes for great showers and quick filling of the outdoor bath - spectacular place to relax after cycling around Pencarrow head. Will definitely will stay again!

A beautiful home, with a wonderful view. It was nice to get away from the city and have a comfortable place to relax, but still be close enough for any of the city activities. A truly wonderful property, and a highlight experience.

Great spot to stay in Eastbourne area. Plop yourself down here and relax in this very unique slice of paradise. We loved our stay, the views, the rolling waves, running out to the beach, having dinner in front patio, an outdoor bath. Take a sunset stroll along the esplanade and a morning walk to the shops for coffee, pastries, fresh produce…
5* stay but couple things to note. Online listing needs a refresh since the main pics are outdated (e.g., front patio has more privacy but the views are obstructed due to mature plantings). I’d prefer more view by trimming back growth.
Second bedroom had an old / damaged mattress that should’ve been replaced long before our stay — the manager thanked us for pointing it out and planned to address with owners. Full time rental shouldn’t have this issue.

This cottage is a true gem. So comfortable and the views are incredible. We walked the beach, hiked and loved watching the ferries come and go out of Wellington. Will definitely return.

Excellent, as previously - a happy place for the whole family. Sitting on the seawall staring out to sea and watching the beach is a good way to spend much of the day! Managers super-helpful in helping reunite us with a couple of things left behind too. Recommended.

This beautifully outfitted, recently remodeled property was the perfect getaway. It was lovely waking up to look out the front window at the water every morning and having everything we needed to be able to cook in the well-stocked kitchen. Had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back!

We actually live in Wellington but as we are currently living on our boat while we build our a new home, we were looking for some land time and some bath time to relax in the winter months.
Was perfect for us!

We were delighted with our stay in every way. The cottage had a warm friendly atmosphere. Everything we wanted was there. It was really clean and beautifully presented.
The position, right by the water and a short walk to cafes worked really well.

We were visiting family in Eastbourne but just needed a place to stay that was independent and Guthrie Cottage was perfect. Unfortunately too cold to use the outdoor bath, which was a shame. It was one of the coldest weeks in Wellington this year but our welcome home was warm.

In the evenings after walkers and joggers have turned in for the night, there is a great sense of privacy and peace here, as if it was a private beach just for the cottage.
Lovely place, just right for a get away weekend.

It was a break away and very much as described. There is a barking dog next door who was annoying, otherwise quite quiet...on the beach front behind seawall
