Nice castle that could need a bit of renovation. Very quiet but we were the only guests
Reception was closed and the bedroom key was hanging out.
The bed was extremely small and uncomfortable. The bedroom was poorly renovated with electric cables set randomly on the walls.

Lovely setting in an old castle, quiet area. Lounges around the hotel to relax in were nice
Breakfast was a bit disappointing without loads of choice. We were hoping to stay at the hotel for dinner but there was only a set menu which we didn't like the sound of so had to go elsewhere.

The property is in an old historic building with all the quirks of an old building. The setting is special with views over the countryside.

We were so impressed by the classy, classic and splendid interiors of this hotel. The staff (especially Martin and Charlotte) were so very helpful and super nice.
Our dinner at the hotel's restaurant was fantastic.
The breakfast was wonderful. The first day's breakfast was a simple self-service buffet in a nice dining room, and the second day's breakfast was served at our table in a splendid yet cosy function room. What not to like, right?
I wish I could revisit the Kokkedal Slotshotel again soon.
I wish the toilet sink could be a little cleaner, and that a cleaning lady/man did not forget to make a bed - clean our room on our second night stay at the hotel.

Location and appearance of the Slot are very good, in a beautiful position and very well maintained. The restaurant was very good and the staff very helpful in a difficult situation re booking failures, so in all a nice place unfortunately not a great stay.
Arrived to find the room we booked through Booking.Com was already occupied and repositioned to “the coziest room” in the Slot a “Junior Suite” under the roof in the old servants quarters. The room itself was ok and the staff very apologetic blaming “central booking” for the error, we received a discount for our situation, but bottom line we did not get what we ordered and ended up in a smaller room with less features and sadly very limited ventilation, sleeping was not good.
Simply not a great experience

The rooms are really lovely and just as in the pictures. You can take a walk outside the castle and there's a tiny forest nearby.
Got a written confirmation that I could bring my dog for no additional charge. Was requested to pay 200 DK upon checkout. Not acceptable! Had a lengthy discussion about this with the staff. Refused to pay the charge - this was later accepted as they realized they made the mistake

Each castle should have its own legends and ghosts - and this one was full of history :D
Very nice atmosphere and personal, we hope to come back again!

The fact you get to stay in a castle adds to the experience
Soap dispenser was empty. I would expect more for a 4 star

Nice view, area. It's really quiet and peaceful.
No Minibar, not 20 qm as booked. It's not a problem, but then should not be shown on booking com.
Would be better to have a service while the breakfast outside. Seems to be self service, no cleaning etc outside.
We had a not cheaply three course menu (dinner), but unfortunately we were hungry, maybe they didn't count with us?
