Spacious and comfortable with good facilities. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Food and beverage of a high standard.
Battery not working in AC remote control — so we opened the window.

The hotel is medium sized, so big enough to walk around and small enough to make it easy to move around.
2 pools and a decent gym by hotel standards
The staff are very attentive and available
Not a lot to say here.
The only thing I would make as a personal preference is I think the atmosphere would be improved with background music in the bar areas.

Electric charge point only a 3 pin plug. Not good enough for today's electric car traveller's.

The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in at a hotel.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The grounds offer a beautiful setting to relax in
Although the food in the restaurant is good its very expensive.
No lift.

Food and drink were pricey.

Absolutely gorgeous place with friendly professional staff, the breakfast was delicious and you were given a nice quantity which set you up for the day.
The facilities were excellent particularly enjoyed our swim in the pool.
The room was lovely with a massive bed and we would definitely stay again.
Even tho the bed was a good size it was not very comfortable to hard for us.

On checkin We were upgraded to a junior suite with a hot tub, very nice. The junior suite was very comfortable.
No shower cap or cotton buds etc in the bathroom. However when asked they did bring some to the room. Drinks very pricey

Stunning building & grounds, great breakfast, super lounge rooms and terrace and spa.
room was far too hot had to remove duvet and have a sheet and fan in cool May! Don’t have room 16. Dinner was average for such an upmarket hotel. chicken was dry.
3.5 / 5.0
Superb room ,terrace and hot tub ,and decor-very comfortable .
Room service was on time and delivered to order.
Neighbours noisy at end of night and early morning and room not soundproofed so disturbed us.Worth putting ear plugs in rooms for people who do not stay up late, rise early.
Room service menu limited for dinner, and nothing available after 9pm.Not sure what the night porter does.
Dinner menu pretty limited in the hotel-surprising for a hotel of such prestige.
Breakfast in room was disappointing -warm juice,sub-standard breakfast sandwich.
Staff in hotel helpful but unable to go extra mile as so limited by food service stopping at 9pm ,totally, not even snacks, crisps or anything other than pretzels!

The room was lovely and breakfast was great.

Excellent staff, great variety of facilities/services in spa, excellent food, fantastic garden bedroom with its hot tub.
The haggis fritters are the best! And I'm Scottish!
Firstly, two of the showers in the spa facility (monsoon shower and rasul treatment room) didn't work properly, and the outside jacuzzi had lots of broken bits on it and didn't work right either. I suggest the maintenance probably isn't quite up to the standards I'd expect for an expensive spa.
Secondly, the hotel was a lot more family orientated than i expected for a pricey spa hotel, and a lot more so than my previous visit in 2013
The restaurant layout was very family orientated - brightly lit not subtle, and we had to share a bench seat with another couple and had to sit at a table really close to them, intrusively so.. On a previous visit in 2013 the restaurant felt more intimate and romantic, but it now feels like any other family hotel, including many much cheaper ones. It's out of character with the rest of the hotel and I found it very odd, and the 'Foxy' theme and 'royal guard' character at the entrance is confusing and weird for a place like this.
To add to this there were extremely noisy children at the pool on day 1 and then more children again running round the hotel corridor by the garden rooms making a racket at 8am on day 2 when we were still hoping to sleep.
I accept it was the Easter weekend and hotels need to make money by encouraging families to stay, and i cant fault anything the hotel provided or it's staff or in terms of quality of customer service, but I must say the overall stay wasn't quite what I expected. I felt like the hotel wasn't sure what it was trying to be. A romantic relaxing retreat for couples and singles, or a family activity centre catering for the masses..
Having said all that, in all other respects it was excellent.

We were upgraded on arrival (without requesting if this was possible). Beautiful room with superb facilities and lovely friendly staff in the hotel. The spa was great - even better to have an outside pool and jacuzzi! Dinner and breakfast both excellent with speedy service. Would definitely visit again.
Nothing at all, apart from having to leave!

The staff were very polite and friendly, the room was clean and tidy. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning. Would stay again spa facilities were great and relaxing. Wish we had more time to stay.
Hot tub was closed inside (possibly for maintenance) outside hot tub could of been abit more powerful. My only complains. Everything else was great

Rooms individually styled. Very comfortable. Good extra facilities. Breakfast great, Spa facilities good - and now being refurbed, so even better. New owners very attentive,
Nothing.
