Low value, nice spa, bad food

We had booked via booking.com and confirmed the price for 2 adults and 2 children by email. Despite this they charged 150 euros extra for the kids on arrival and spent almost an hour (of our spa-time) checking us in. This was an annoying start. The Deluxe room was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. We found the room to be short a couple of bath robes and towels which was rectified by staff.   The spa was nice, albeit a little crowded, and there is a nudist policy for the natural spa (the nicest part) after 17:00. We enjoyed the Turkish bath in the general admission area and the Sauna World. The kids liked the main indoor pool.  After this, “welcome drinks” were enjoyed in the hotel bar, but the only two choices were Prosecco and “juice”.  The dinner buffet was quite nondescript. It can best be described as a cross between a Las Vegas buffet 20 miles from the Strip crossed with Eastern European hospital canteen food in the 1990s. Nobody really liked anything except for the pork cheeks which were excellent. The dining room is quite grand and might be considered instagrammable by some.   The next morning was started with a breakfast buffet. We had high expectations after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, but it was quite disappointing. Again, nobody really liked anything and we ended up eating some fruit and yogurt (the Muesli and nuts were decent). Windfall vegans can rest assured that no hanging fruit was harmed in the making of any of the “juices”. The taste was horrible though.  Again, the spa was great. The natural spa is lovely and Sauna World is very enjoyable. Strangely there is no water available for hotel guests except small bottles you can purchase at the bar at exorbitant prices. Day spa guest can fill their own bottles at the entrance. Beer is priced quite reasonably.   The check out is at 11:00 despite the spa time lasting till 14:00. Check-out was almost as cumbersome as the check-in procedure and took away another hour of spa-time.

Superb

Our stay was pleasant throughout the whole stay. Direct access to the spa from hotel rooms, delicious breakfast & dinners and the most exceptional spa and sauna world - especially enjoyed the Natural spa section, Turkish baths and night time outdoors pools transformation. Overall, we could not have asked for a more relaxing stay. Small day trips around are highly recommendable as well - we enjoyed the hike to castle Lietava a lot.

Great spa experience but not a comfortable stay.

The Aphrodite spa facilities were great, excellent variety of thermal pools and saunas all included in the price. The staff at the reception were lovely. The decor in the lobby was stunning.

The bed was really uncomfortable - wobbly bed frame, the mattress very stiff and on the same level as the side board which was pressing into my legs everytime I was getting in or off the bed. Also there was only one flat pillow! I didn't sleep that bad for a long time. The service during the dinner was bad. Nobody asked us if we wanted anything to drink until the very end, when we were having desert, we managed to summon a waiter and at least order some water.

Disappointing and crazy expansive

Breakfast was very nice, except the traditional instant tasteless coffee from the jug and orange juice made of the powder, that tasted horrible

Rude staff, average accomodation, noisy, extreme prices, 1 small bottle of their own water cost me 2,50 € and they have put it on the bill twice, later they offered as an compensation another two bottles....the whole place is a joke. Spa is nice and clean but nothing special. There are more places in Slovakia that are at the same level and much more cheaper
