Staff was friendly and forthcoming, even the sauna was activated for me. Good food. Beautiful location.
In part it could use some renovation/ modernization.

very charming and beautiful place, lovely sounds of the stream from my window , beautiful sauna and indoor swimming pool, lovely staff, very welcoming and polite
there was a lot of dust in the heater in my room which made me sneeze, like a lot of visible dust , so better I didn’t use it even though it was winter , not much Vegitarian options at breakfast, some fruit would have been nice , my phone couldn’t connect to the internet for some reason

the location was lovely with a couple of streams near by and lots of trees
they didn’t make us feel welcome at all. I don’t think they get many English. I tried my best to speak German and communicate with them but they seemed rude. I still love Germany though. This was a first.

We choose Haus Kylltal because of its proximity to friends who live in the area and in that respect it fulfilled its purpose. We also enjoyed the evening meal we had at the hotel with our friends.
The bed linen was damp. Only two well worn bath towels were provided, so no hand towels. There was no hand soap provided. The shower drain was blocked, so water overflowed into the bathroom and bedroom. I had to use one of the bath towels to try and mop up, not very successfully. Access to our room was along a dimly lit corridor, it was so dim it was difficult to find the door keyhole. Apparently no record had been kept of our evening meal, so we had to help the receptionist calculate how much we had spent and should be added to our bill. On checking out I told the receptionist about the blocked shower drain and was suprised to be told it was a known problem, so why were we assigned that room in the first place?!

The surrounding areas are pretty
First of all, the pictures you see on booking.com and the hotels actual website are certainly not true to real life.
The property is very dated which is not an issue however it does need some tender loving care. Table cloths are stained, rooms are somewhat dirty i.e. floor hasn’t been cleaned properly, spiderwebs in corners, dirt in corners, hair found in the bed, hair on bedside table. All of this is not acceptable for the price you pay.
Food was okay, but nothing to write home about.
Overall if you are looking for value for money I’m sure there are better options in the are.
The property could do with a good clean as right now you pay a lot for what you get.

Pool was very good and our evening meal was excellent.
Hotel in need of major refurbishment - like walking back into the 1970's. Has great potential but needs major investment to fullfil it. OK for a quick stopover.
