Ok ophold

Ok morgenmad, lidt langsomme til at fylde op

Bedre øje for opfyldning ved morgenbrød og juice. Vi kunne godt have tænkt os, at der var en rlkedel på værelset - og måske et køleskab.

We paid extra for a seaview and did not class what we got as a 'seaview'

We paid extra for a sea view room. The window was a skylight, which we could only see out of if we stood up and we had to turn at a 90 degree angle to see the sea

Room for improvements

Location is very good . Breakfast was very good . Bed was comfortable

Design of room was outdated and did not show any desire to make the stay memorable. For me it reminded me to be in a youth hostel . No decorations on wall etc . The sink in the bathroom is too small . It would not take a huge amount of money to make improvements.

Apart from the unexpected disturbance at night (no fault of the hotel) I found my stay comfortable

Small room for 1 person but everything was there and looked in perfect shape, nice bathroom/shower too. View from the window directly to the sea was nice.

There wasn't much soundproofing, you could hear other guests as they moved around the corridors and in their rooms. Unfortunately I was woken up a few times in the middle of the night as some guests nearby left their room at 3AM slamming the doors on the way out, only to return after 20 minutes following the reverse scenario. Shortly after I fell asleep again they left once more around 4AM, again slamming all the doors on the way out. After that I didn't hear them come back. The doors were all equipped with automatic shutting systems, probably for fire safety, but you can easily "guide" them so they close softly, but of course that requires taking into account the comfort of the other guests...

Not worth it

the name is honest: beach thief - stealing your money, just because it’s near a dam & a beach behind it.

it’s false advertising. the photos are taken from the top floor. the building is behind a dam. obviously from the top floor you have a view, not narrowed by the dam. the room was a 3.5 by 3 m space with 4 white walls, two average windows & furniture from the 90ies. arm chairs wouldn’t fit in that space as advertised. the bathroom was a space of 1.2 by 3m. when I pointed it out to stuff, all I got: it’s a double & it has sea view. put the photos up from the actual rooms as there are 3 levels of, rather than just the top floor & let the customers decide, if they want to pay such an overpriced rate! at least it would be honest advertising. I didn’t take photos (except from the view) as the room had nothing to show for.

Hotel Strandräuber was a very pleasant surprise. Tucked away from the busy Kiel, it was a wonderful treat for soul and body. State of art iPad's for each guest, comfortable beds, clean and spacy bathrooms and a great breakfast despite WiFi tell other hotels what guests appreciate. Excellent place!

Hard for so few staff to manage exited customers.

A deceptively simple but well run little hotel with great comfort and a wonderful quiet location.

The light, modern unobtrusive design, Scandinavian/ maritime inspired, the whole place was very clean, the bathrooms small but functional with high quality materials, good beds, overall very friendly staff. Great location right at the beach, good starting point for endless beach walks or bike tours.

There was really nothing I didn’t like. A minor improvement could be to have a small fridge in the room so one might keep some fruit or bottled water in the summer.
