Quiet and relaxing old french villa

Bungalow rooms were spacious and comfortable, situated in the gardens. Clean and the hosts were very helpful in booking us trips and onward travel. We enjoyed use of the hotel pools to cool off.

Great experience in the middle of the Mekong with all the comforts of home

These islands are paradise and the Sala Done Khone Hotel is the perfect place to stay. Beautiful, very intimate and beautiful pools. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The rooms have some flaws such as the wooden floor raised in some corners or the door that opens by itself if you don't have the latch on, but nothing remarkable that doesn't allow you to fully enjoy this fantastic place :)

Besonders zufrieden waren wir mit dem Personal,freundlich und kompetent.

Das Zimmer war außergewöhnlich, weil es ein schwimmender Bungalow war. Die Ausstattung war etwas älter aber ok, wie hatten einen tollen Blick auf den Mekong. Sauberkeit war ok. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet: Omelette, Rührei, Toast und Butter mit Marmelade, sehr guter Fried Rice und typische, sehr gute Suppe.

We loved our stay in one of the floating bungalows. A lot of space, amazing view of the river, comfortable bed and a good shower. The staff was very nice and helpful and made sure we had everything we wanted.

So fantastic to be right on the water. We really enjoyed watching the night fishermen from our balcony!

we had a floating bungalow- perfect location on the river. Delicious breakfast, don’t understand the poor reviews. we extended our stay.

Staff were really accommodating and attentive, room was cleaned regularly and breakfast was very good. The location is spot on overlooking the river.

This hotel, like many others in Laos, has just opened after the long lockdown of COVID. Funds to improve the hotel infrastructure need to be generated to bring the hotel back up to par. I am sure over the coming months, the management team will be able to make necessary repairs and bring the standard of the hotel up to what it should be. Good luck

Tranquille vibes with great views

The floating villa we had was better than expected. Comfortable beds, hot shower and all facilities worked properly. Beautiful view on the Mekong, both with sunrise and sunset. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole place was breathing tranquility. I would for sure recommend it!

Nothing actually. If there's anything to improve, it would be breakfast. It was ok, but a bit more variety would be nice.

A pleasant stay despite a few drawbacks

It is well located in Don Khon. The floating bungalow on the river was very pleasant. The bicycle rent was useful although the bicycles are in bad shape and need to be changed. It was quite easy to organise the trip back with the hotel (even if they have higher prices than elsewhere).

The bungalow is rather in bad repair and with poor soundproofing. Contrary to what is mentioned in Booking, there is no effective Wifi. We needed to go elsewhere at a restaurant to be able to get wifi. Scanty breakfast. We recommend you a place next door that is better. In addition, breakfast is not opened at 7AM (even if they tell you so) but at 7:30 AM. Ramshackle and ageing bicycles that need to be fixed.

Relaxing place

The place is extremely beautiful, we stayed at the floating studio as everyone recommended it and it was fantastic. The pool was also really cute.

Breakfast was not included as the restaurant was closed.
