A Very Disappointing Hostel

The location. Our usual hotel was full so this was the nearest alternative. There is Aircon, a fridge and a very small TV in the rooms.

Tired and worn out. The bed/mattress sloped on one side. The bedroom noise levels are very high due to poor insulation. No food is available either in the evening or for breakfast. There was only one bedside lamp in our room and the shade was broken. The shower was very old and over the bath type. The bathroom mirror backing was peeling off. The cleaner seemed to have missed our room as there were stains on the floor and food crumbs in the bedside cabinet draws. We awoke on Sunday morning to a note pushed under the door informing us that reception was closed and locked. As was the bar/cafeteria.Not to use the lift ( luckily we only had an overnight bag to carry down the stairs). To leave the room key in the door and see ourselves out!

Well worth what you pay for

Staff very friendly, Room spotless, beds very comfortable. Air-conditioning worked well. Bar stayed open for me to arrive. Excellent coffee - but this seems to be the case all over Spain

Bathroom smelt a bit musty. Both TV and background music on in the bar made for a less than restlful ambience [again this seems to be quite common in Spain]

Horrible, simply horrible

Horrible experience. Despite the average good reviews, the hotel is awful and in need of urgent refurbishment as an intense smell of sewer comes from the bathroom. Moreover, the walls are as thin as paper and the noise from the other rooms makes your sleep impossible. Eventually, the innerspring mattress on which we slept was old and terribly unconfortable. Check out is 7-12, but after 9.30 nobody was there and we had to literally throw the keys through a fence on the counter.

Excellent, considering the price.

I arrived at the hotel way past midnight and the manager checked me in without any complaints. Whenever the manager would go out and leave the reception unattended, he would slide translated messages under my door with very clear and specific instructions on what I should do if I wish to roam around. He even put in the extra effort to translate them into my native language since I didn't speak any Spanish. Very polite and friendly staff.

Clean , good shower , water pressure good , very helpful owner , nice meal made even though I was only guest, Very fair prices for dinner ,

Great value for money hostal

At E30 for a night I wasn't expecting luxury or Michelin Star food. However this Hostal exceded my expectations.The rooms were clean and airey. There were towels and basic toiletries [there was something on the website that suggested you might not get sheets and towels without paying extra but this was not the case]. The cafe provided coffee and toast at breakfast and basic Spanish pub-grub in the evenings. The only problem was barking neighbourhood dogs till about midnight

TV was on constantly in the cafe [but this is Spain and it seems to be compulsory!]. It isn't the easiest place to find but Sat-Nav got me there okay. The barking dogs and gunfire from hunters on the local marshes till late evening

BreakfastThe room has a smell of sewrage My husband was told the restaurant was not open Informatoin was difficult to obtain ie but we could eat in the bar. What time was breakfast.

An overnight stop

Initial impressions were not good, but the room was quiet and comfortable and the dinner was excellent. Good value for money.

Very poor

The hotel is just open till 9 am, if you leave the place(onely posible by the emergency exit you can not enter it again around 4 pm someone is coming to open the hotel again, so you can spend your time outside the hotel.
