Location

Breakfast is good, nothing to complain.
Location is good, near the Tanga Market.
I feel not so happy at the reception desk when I went to checkin. The lady spoke not so good English and I could not catch what she said and I tried to ask again, but she made some moody face.

早餐十分豐盛, 酒店內的亭園很美
門框油漆小小脫落, 但仍沒影響其優雅設計

金額が安かった。

The breakfast is okay with rather good view.
The room with two single beds is small, uncomfortable and poorly maintained.

I loved this location a lot. It was clean and beautiful, but rustic like a Victorian house. I loved the garden views from different places around the hotel, the privacy of the garden and hotel from the outside world, and the calm, peaceful atmosphere. The koi fish were adorable, and the walking path was nice. This is the best staff I've ever met; I wrote them in advance about a health condition, and they did their best to accommodate me.
It exceeded my expectations in many ways, but I wasn't expecting it to be rustic. I thought that 'art hotel' meant there would be lots of modern sculptures and contemporary painting. It felt like I was in an old Victorian house, which was pleasant, but a bit of a surprise. Maybe it's not a dislike, but something I wish the website could've explained better that 'art hotel' means 'rustic Victorian-style hotel.' Actual dislikes included low thread-count bed sheets and Japanese-style pillows.

Superb breakfast - nice spread of fresh fruits, salad, Japanese food and bread
Super attentive, helpful and friendly staff
Lovely Japanese garden with beautiful views
Quaint hotel rooms that are clean and well-kept
Bathrooms are relatively spacious, and very clean
The location is great, with Tanga Market nearby, reasonable parking, and very quiet and safe
Rooms were a bit too small for our liking, there was limited space to place our luggages, especially for the triple room
The furniture and beds are quite dated, but the vintage vibes might be a draw for some
Bathroom wasn't very accessible (the shower is in the bathtub) and the handrails were only on one wall

We loved this hotel!! You can walk or take a short taxi to the train station. There are many fun food spots in the neighborhood. The hotel itself was gorgeous. It had a beautiful garden *and* a super delicious breakfast!! We stayed here during our honeymoon and had a wonderful time.

The garden landscape was excellent. Providing a wonderful setting for any event. Room was more then adequate, providing most necessary amenities. Buffet was above average and delicious. Value to the dollar, excellent.
Reservation made with view of their spectacular garden. Unfortunately, the view is obstructed by a ledge that extends far enough out that you barely get the view that you were anticipating.

Hotel located near restaurants? Market and shopping areas.
Room is slightly small and not well decorated

location is good, short walk to Kokura train station or local train station. short walk to Tanga market.
not enough plugs to charge our devices. we had to unplug lights / TV to free up plus for our devices. carpets and curtains had stains. place was generally dated.

Staff was very helpful and advised us to use the public parking lot right next to the hotel. It only cost us 700 yen to park overnight from 9pm to 9am. They also loaned us umbrellas when we needed to go out while it was raining.
They also helped to point us to the right store when we urgently needed to buy an adaptor for the car charger.
In the room, there's a multi cable charger available for use.
Good shower n toilet facilities within the room.
Decent place to stay for 1N when u just need a room and a shower.
Room is a little crammed for 2 people with 2 large suitcases. Too much furniture for a tiny room.
Hair dryer is small and weak, not great for ladies.
There are no power sockets beside the bed.
Pillows are very flat but they gave us extra pillows when we requested for them.

the garden is amazing

Stunning hotel with beautiful rooms. The garden was very pretty and calming. Staff was very kind and welcoming. I’d love to stay again!

Japanese garden is good.
Room was little bit small.

There are a lot of interesting restaurants not far from the hotel (walking distance).
The room was too tiny for 2 people.
A garden view was advertised but we couldn't see much from the room.
No free parking is available.

I stayed only short time, but the garden was really nice. There are many spots to sit down around the garden (inside/outside) and have a relaxed time.
Usually I wouldn't care but the windows in the room were ridiculously dirty...

The lobby and event area are very nice. The breakfast was good.
The rooms look like they were furnished in the 1800’s… and need a lot of work. Bed skirt barely held on with double sided tape, my leg hairs got pulled on multiple occasions.
The photos they use are from the lobby and common area and don’t let you see what you’re in for as a guest.

lovely grounds and views, interesting and attractive artwork and decor, spacious tasteful public areas, excellent fresh buffet breakfast, clean, comfortable well appointed rooms- if a bit small!
so-called double bed was a bit narrow, the immediate neighborhood was not attractive

We were scheduled to stay here for 2 days, but not again since we are not sure of their cleaning process. When we were about to place our food in their mini fridge, we discovered spoiled items in there. At the same time, there was blood stain on the wall from maybe a smashed insect. This blood stain was very visible not sure how they could have missed it. Noisy tenants upstairs did not help either. After all of this, there was no offer to move rooms so they can fix their mess, so we just decided to cut our stay short; however, the management the following day was apologetic, sincere, felt really bad and gave us a discount.

Great customer service and the dinner buffet was great! Nice Japanese garden on sight!
Tight space.

Delicious Japanese breakfast with a lovely view of the garden. Our children loved exploring the garden! (and so did the adults!).
The immediate neighborhood lacks charm, to say the least. That said, a short walk and you can explore the extensive local market and find various kinds of food.
