What an absolute treasure Mt Tutu eco sanctuary is! All the lovely personal touches, our fabulous hosts, and the magic place itself... I slept like a log and woke to the birds. It really did feel like a wee slice of private woodland paradise.
Nothing! If you are looking for a 5 star, modern, super high tech hotel stay, you're looking in the wrong place.
If you are looking for unique and private down-to-earth accommodation, with great hosts (and delicious cooked breakfast), this is the perfect spot.

During your stay you'll feel a total disconnect with the hustle and bustle of city life. 2 days is a perfect amount of time for you to soak in the place and enjoy its beauty. It felt like a therapeutic stay. The breakfast was delicious, especially the scrambled eggs with toast and bacon were the perfect start for our day :)

Glow worm trail and nature walk.
The room smelt a bit stale.

Attentive friendly hosts in Tim and Debbie. The 2x toura were a fantastic "extra" as part of the room charge, both definitely worth doing. The twins beds were comfy in the Kereru room and it was a lovely quiet, idyllic break away from the city. We enjoyed the daily complimentary breakfast each day, good cereal selection and delicious free range eggs from the resudent chooks. Would definitely recommend Mount Tutu Eco sanctuary to relax unwind and step into some beautiful Aotearoa native bish

We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful setting and the interesting nature tours. Feeding the animals and seeing the glow worms were real highlights. Debbie and Tim were wonderful hosts, providing knowledgeable conversation, excellent cooked breakfast, and wonderful little treats like cupcakes on arrival and chocolates and cookies in our room.
The room smelled a little damp, but this was probably because it hadn't been used in a while (we were the first guests in a few months due to COVID).

Lovely & quiet, very peaceful as the name suggests. Cooked breakfast using their own produce, yum. Well looked after. Very nice people. Great tours, learned heaps
Room maybe a tad bigger but was fine. Had everything we needed.

I loved the whole place, so much so I didn’t want to leave, Tim and Debbie are the most amazing hosts with a wonderful breakfast and fantastic glow worm and rainforest tours, the bed was super duper comfy and the room was so cosy with the electric blankets and heater, such a wonder of a place.

Friendly and lovely informative hosts.
Nice, quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
Made a early breakfast for our last stay which was much appreciated.
I would've liked a double bed in the room. But it was fine with twin beds.
