Our stay was perfect! We loved the place. We would definitely rent again. Penny was perfect. She made sure we had everything. We thought the golf cart was dying too fast and she had someone come out right away to help us figure it out. Thank you so much for the stay!

We had a good time. The rooms were spacious and each slept 3 comfortably with private bath in each bedroom. The only issue was the hike to the dock and the golf cart died after 1 trip. There was plenty of parking for 3 trucks and boat trailers.

Our family had a great time alone in the woods. :) We enjoyed the pool and the wonky pool table the most. The walk to the lake is about a half mile and we were not prepared for that. The dock was great, though and we came to enjoy the hike. The house is in prime 1970's design, which somehow fits the setting in the woods. Fairly isolated which made us very comfortable. We would definitely go back!

We stayed at this house because we had Monday Masters tickets. The house was advertised with a pool and a lake behind the house. The lake is NOT behind the house. It's a good 1/4 mile (maybe more) over rough terrain. So if you're enticed by the lake think 2x or more. The pool doesn't open till after 5/15. The road leading to the house can be accessed by less than 4W drive (but just barely). The house does not have AC.
Overall not bad for a 3 day weekend but not as good as advertised.

Got a little age to it. Open area out front was good for gathering and porch was nice. Bedrooms were a little tight but with 8 guys about what we expected. Would stay again but needs a little updating.

To start....we were there for a Paralyzed Veterans fishing tournament. My husband contacted the owner to see if house was on the water with a dock. She said "yes, with easy access". Not truthful AT ALL. Dock was quite a distance from house, on rough terrain. There would be no way anyone would or could be able to carry gear to their boat. And no one would feel comfortable leaving their gear that far away, out of sight. But, ok. We made due. Now for the REAL issue. Our tournament was canceled due to Hurricane Ian. The governor of Georgia placed a state of emergency! We live in Florida. We contacted the owner, after being there for a few days, telling her our situation. We needed to return to Florida to secure our home. Would she be willing to reimburse us, either partial or full, for the remainder of our stay. She stated "the weather was beautiful, we were overreacting and she would not consider either option. I contacted Evolve. Although they agreed with our decision they could not override owners decision. After the storm came through I tried one more plea to the owner. With pictures of flooding and damage to our home. No response. We stay in this area every year for this tournament. I absolutely would not recommend this property to anyone! Shame on Evolve for continuing contract with this individual.

Stayed here with 6 of my friends for a disc golf tournament at wildwood park. We had a blast at this cabin. Plenty of space and it was clean and comfortable. The pool was refreshing and the back deck had plenty of room for hanging out in the cool air. Kitchen was well stocked and the golf cart was 100% worth it. We come out to Lincolnton every year for this tournament and this is our favorite cabin so far.

The property is great. We didn’t use the lake access much at all. If you are relying on lake access it is a fairly long walk. The pool and house are a treat. Older cabin style home with antique furniture, felt very cozy. There was one large bed and the rest are small and not very comfortable. Just be prepared for that. I did communicate with the owner about our arrival and then when we got there she said I would need to sign a legal document. I asked her if I could come do it and no response. The next morning she just showed up at the house to get the signature. Would have appreciated a response to my text or some planning for that encounter. Owners also use trail that goes right by front of property to ride four wheelers by during our stay. Did not bother us, but could see someone not appreciating it.
All in all it was a great trip and a great house. Would definitely come back.

Nice and Cozy
The home is well kept considering the age of the home.
Plenty of room and amenities.
Only real dislike was the boat ramp is a tough hike or cart from the house.
We had a great relaxing week! Penny is very reasonable and accommodating

Property owner is on a budget !
Nice quiet area but two items that were less that desirable. Number one the pool has a timer that is in a locked box and the pool skimmer only runs for 4 hours a day. But the worst thing was number 2 item which was the house AC now granted we were there on a very hot week highs around 100 degrees but the house thermostat was also under locked box and couldn’t be adjusted so we had to deal with days in the pool and warm night in the house. It was too much for us we went home 2 days early!

Secluded, country oasis with a very hospitable host
I recently stayed at Penny Lane, and it was one of the best vacations of my life. Entering the property was like arriving at a secret garden of comfort. Penny, the host, is very responsive and willing to assist with any issues. I was able to bring my fur baby who was enamored with the spacious grounds. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting some rest and relaxation in a rural environment. I cannot wait to visit again!

Lake Vacation
We had originally reserved the property for my husband, myself, our 2 daughters,son-in-law and 3 grandsons. However due to the pandemic there was only the 2 of us,my youngest daughter and our doggies. We only live an hour away which was good because we had to go back home a couple of times due to a
minor problem at home.
In spite of everything we had a great time. The house was nice and we loved eating on the deck. We really enjoyed the pool. We will definitely be back!

Relaxing and fun!
The house was great! Pool was so refreshing! The hike to the boat dock was fun with a couple hills and dips made it worth it to be able to jump off the dock into the lake and cool off! Owner was prompt with questions and
Comments. We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful weekend
My brother and myself plan a yearly Lake trip for us and our closest friends, and this year was our favorite yet. The property is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend renting the golf cart for the trail back and forth to the lake, we actually enjoyed our little scenic commutes to and from. The covered dock was a blessing so we could escape the sun as we relaxed and swam. Great for families and groups, there were seven of us on all and we had plenty of room. Communication was quick and easy between the property owner and I. Great experience.

Not worth the cost
Even though, by the 3rd day, all the major issues were handled, the place is not worth the cost. Day 1, wasp nest all over dock and swarmed with wasp. 5 of our children were stung several times before we Killed most of them. Day2, golf cart died and we had to push it back up the loooong trail. Up and down steep hills. Second golf cart did the same. Then finally 3rd golf cart on day three was owners personal and gas powered worked. Day 3, 1 of our children was running from a wasp and fell through soft rotted boards on dock. Owner fixed those. There were still loose boards all over. The house itself is not to bad. Just truly not worth the price to stay. The pool and the area around it as well as the house need a lot of TLC. The AC was locked and you had to have the owner change the temperature after having to convince her it needed to be lower. There is no key to the house and the front sliding door didn’t lock. The game room has no AC. It was like an oven. We will not be returning.

weekend by the lake
love the property location but, the hike to the lake was a hike. House and porch were really nice, need to get the patio doors fixed as that was annoying. Rained hard during the stay and had multiple roof leaks in the kitchen
3.0
House was as-advertised but had the following issues:1) Dish network was pay-per channel for some reason... got minimal channels but no ESPN, etc.2) A/C did not cool adequately during the day - also programmable thermostat continuously reset the temp to 74 despite efforts to keep it set lower.3) Golf cart lost charge after 1 ride to the lake.4) Main entry is sliding glass door which does not lock making security an issue.5) Dock was a ways away (as ad stated) and was blocked off with caution tape for standing repairs.

Great property amid the woods
Great 3 bed 3 bath in the woods. A little difficult to find at night but a fun get away from the hustle and bustle. The lake and dock are a little further from the house than expected. A fun game room, comfy common quarters, sufficiently supplied kitchen. The closest "good" grocery store is 30 minutes away, so come prepared. The property manager is very kind and quick to respond. Watch for deer at night!! Being in construction, the property needs a little TLC but was well worth the cost!!

Great rustic lake lodge
This is a great rustic lake lodge that my family really enjoyed . If you are looking for 5 star accommodations, you might look at the homes on the lake that are over $500 a night. However this home was perfect for our family and at the price we consider it a bargain.
It is an older house but well-kept and clean. The AC did struggle slightly to keep the house cool while we were cooking meals but other than that it was fine . All of the bedrooms were very cool at night which is all that really matters to me . The pool was an older pool that needed refinishing but it was clean and fun. The kids had a blast playing in the pool and never even noticed that it needed refinishing. The golf cart would make two roundtrips from the house to the lake in between charges with no problem. As long as you keep it on the charger when you’re not using it it should never be a problem . The doc was at the back of a cove very private and very secure we left both of our Jetskis docked for the entire stay with no problems. There is a boat ramp just minutes from the house and not very far from the dock that made loading and unloading our JetSki‘s very easy. The lake itself is absolutely beautiful and did not have a lot of boat traffic on it so most days it felt like we had to Lake all to ourself.
We will definitely be back

A great rental
This was a great place to stay. Our family has been here twice and we love everything about this place. Plenty of bed and bath space. The pool is relaxing and quite large. The appliances are updated and easy to use. Penny the owner is always available and communicates very we’re when she is contacted. We plan to make this place an annual event.
2.0
The property description was very misleading.
The property is an older home in desperate need of updating. The property description was very misleading. We rented the golf cart and it died on the first trip up the hill and we had to push it. The property manager was pleasant enough but did not communicate well. The DISH went out & we were asked to call them directly to troubleshoot the problem. The showers drain slowly and the water stands above your feet. The washer and dryer is ancient. The AC is locked at 74 and is not of an adequate size to cool the house. There are signs on at least 2 doors that advise you not to open them and "they are on the list of repairs to be made." There are no locks on the doors We were advised to use a stick for one (that actually does not close all the way.) The pool is in desperate need of a coat of paint. The flooring is old and kind of 'icky'. The 1600 foot walk to the boat dock is very treacherous. Small children and anyone with any mobility challenges could never make it up or down that path. There is no overhead lighting in the house. It is a dark and drab We would never stay here again or recommend to a friend. I can't imagine that for the price this place rents for they would have a lot of return business.

Wonderful retreat
This home was the best! We were able to host an after-Thanksgiving lunch with nearby relatives, spread out between the living room and porch and just enjoy the quiet of the country. The leaves were just turning orange in the fall and the big windows allowed us to enjoy the view. Perfect retreat!

Great space
Had a very good time staying here. The great room is very spacious and the kitchen is huge, well stocked and easy to work in even with 7 people staying there. Beds were comfy and had plenty of linens. Pool was nice and surprisingly cold given how hot it was that weekend. Its about a 15 minute hike to get to the water but we did find a boat launch nearby to drive to put our kayaks in. It does get a little warm inside no matter how hard you run the AC but it wasn't unbearable. Overall great place. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful and private.
The property is very large. With a swimming pool, pond, and lake, there is no shortage of activities to keep all of your family happy. Even my dog had a wonderful time running the trails and exploring the land. Even though the owner lives on the property, you will not see her unless you need her. The trail to the lake has a few hills and gulleys and may not be the best trail for special needs or the elderly, but overall we loved the place in its entirety. My family always takes a vote at the end of a rental to see if we would consider it again. The vote was a 100% yes. We would definitely rent it again. One other thing worth mentioning is that the Clarks Hill Marina is very convenient to this property. If you are looking to rent a boat for your stay, the marina is 18 minutes by land and about 15 minutes by water. We loved our stay. Thanks Penny.

Lake Rental
House is a long walk to the lake is the only down fall to this house. House was very clean and had everything to make our annual fishing trip very enjoyable. We had 7 adults and 4 boats and had plenty of room. House has a lot of southern charm. We will rent again next year on our tip.
Thanks to the owners for sharing their house.

50th birthday celebration.
The house and pool were incredible and a great time was had by all. Everything we needed for our stay was supplied. The children really enjoyed the game room as well. Plenty of room to accommodate our large family.
Serene setting relaxing on the rear deck with morning coffee and fellowship.
I was under the impression the lake and the boat dock were closer than they were. The owner graciously provided a golf cart due to my bad hip and being unable to walk to the water.
My husband caught 4 bass out of the pond that is within view of deck.
We will definitely be returning.

Hot Hideaway
This property is spacious, and would accommodate large crowds easily. Rent the golf cart, because the lake feels like it is a mile away. My family caught tons of fish off of the dock. The pool is clean, but the paint is coming off so it looks scary, but you will need it, because the house is so hot! The thermostat is locked at 76°, and temperatures in the house got as high as 86° during the heat of the day. This made our stay really rough. The master bed is extremely hard, so we put the kids on the couch, and slept in the pink room. I would like to have rated this higher, but my husband's constant complaining about his discomfort made our stay awful. The house is very clean.

I Would Definitely Stay Again
We enjoyed ourselves and very grateful for this beautiful place that the Lord has provided for us to stay this weekend. It was filled with fun, laughter and joy that creates 'families are forever.' Very beautiful and stunning and breath taking. The ride to the lake was so beautiful. Once again, thank you for your beautiful cabin with so much love in it!

Beautiful Home, Beautiful Setting
Our December vacation was spur of the moment, way out of peak season. We saw squirrels and the stars out every night. It was just peaceful to do absolutely nothing, while the other half of us tended to business. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay.
