About this house rental
A traditional stone dalmatian house, situated in the village Milna only 4 kilometers away from Hvar town, located in a beautiful bay, only 20 meters above the beach.
Surrounded by old olive trees, palms, oleanders, lemons, oranges and other Dalmatian fruit trees and flowers. The house has large terrace (approx 100 m square) with variety of plants and flowers, giving you perfect peace and privacy.
You can enjoy your time in the shadow or on the sun, listening the sound of the sea just steps away from the front door.
There are 3 rooms with 6 beds and sofa in living room. Big kitchen with dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, microwave… , living room with broadband wi-fi internet, air condition, flat screen with satellite TV and cable, and all equipment needed.
There is also open kitchen on terrace with sink and small gas stove, grill on open and bathroom with washing machine that are entered from the front yard of the house.
Very convenient is a large parking place next to the house in deep tree shadow.
Milna has four beautiful beaches and surroundings to walk trough, specially if you are walking to Malo Grablje (2 km away through beautiful canyon road), small abandoned village built by our ancestors.
I hope that this few words explain why word SHANGRI-LA stay on our door of the house.
Wish you nice chill time…
Shangri-La is a fictional place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by British author James Hilton. Hilton describes Shangri-La as a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the Kunlun Mountains. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise, and particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia — a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. In the novel Lost Horizon, the people who live at Shangri-La are almost immortal, living years beyond the normal lifespan and only very slowly aging in appearance.

Beautiful house in the heart of Milna, perfect for families
We’ve just got back from a fantastic 10 days staying at Shangri-La. On arrival we were welcomed with a plate of meats, cheese olives and bread, and a bottle of wine and other refreshments, which was a welcome surprise after such a long journey. Our host, Petra, did everything to ensure our stay was perfect.
This spacious, well equipped stone house is perfect for families, and even though it’s 10 metres from the beach, it’s quiet, private and secluded has everything you will need, from a dishwasher and washing machine, coffee machines, right down to mosquito repellants… even the barbecue has charcoal so no need to go out and buy.
We took our toddler, and it is a very safe environment, with a large terrace for him to play on, and he loved it. It was also great to have such a short stroll back from the beach, (although the small but relatively unknown Veli Dolac Beach is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive, and is incredible, so worth a visit).
The house has 3 bedrooms with comfy beds, and a decent sofa bed in the living area, so would easily accommodate 8 guests. There was a nice big TV which kept our boy entertained when it was very hot outside, and the air-conditioning was a God-send!
We will definitely return, probably with friends next time. We had the perfect holiday here.

Simply wonderful
Quiet litte hide-away, shielded from the small village by oleanders, palm and olive trees, large terrasse to idle away hot afternoons in the shade of an old grapevine. Old house renovated with lots of passion and respect for the local tradition but fully fit for simple, modern living, wonderful hosts, fully-equipped house and kitchen, outdoor shower, outdoor grill and kitchen, 5 (rocky and pebble) beaches for all tastes (from busy to secluded) in walking distance, all-in-all the perfect place to spend your holiday at the seaside.
