The property is excellent, very well equipped, has great character, was warm, great location, really comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay there. Petone is a wonderful village with lovely character, great restaurants and a nice place to walk. Would highly recommend this accommodation. The owners were responsive, easy to deal with and really helpful.

This was such a unique property and is in the perfect location! Just a short stroll to local shops, cafes and the water front. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay including learning about the history of the building. The hidden toy room under the stairs was a highlight for our two year old son. It had modern amenities and despite being a large open space we were able to heat the home easily. We would stay again next time we visit Petone.

Nice property and we had a great stay

This home has so much character. I was a bit freaked out upon entering the house as it felt a little Ghost adventure-y...lol. it has a vibe for sure. But its just steeped in history...not ghosties. Super clean. Super comfortable. The locaction was spectacular and a quick walk downtown. Walki nstead of drive, youll get there faster avoiding trying to find downtown parking. The Victoria Tavern was great for dinner. Caffiened was amazing for breakfast. The only problem you might have with the housr is if you have constant nighttime bathroom runs as it is downstairs. Wonderful place!!

Loved the historical ambience of the building, and the modern conveniences incorporated in period style. Comfortable beds and plentiful kitchen-ware and linen available to use. Surprised by the lack of actual wine glasses so we used tumblers and beer handles! An expresso machine would have topped it off!

An absolute privilege and pleasure to stay in such a luxuriously renovated 1912 Hall. So large and spacious. Everything you you ever need. Three lovely bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, dining and living area. Washing machine and dryer. A place to park your car. Pure luxury. So close to everything, but nice and quiet. Very safe.
So beautifully clean.

I stayed here with my groomsmen over a period of 3 days and we absolutely loved it, the place was beautiful and furnishings fit in so well. Communication between us and the host was so easy and they even came to unlock the door for us when we locked the keys inside on accident. 10/10 would definitely stay again.

Our group, three fathers supporting sons at a local sports tournament, had a very comfortable stay. Plenty of resources handy - many eateries within walking distance.
The hosts are very responsive to any questions asked.

Poor, used for storage of owners redundant, unused property. 37 old mugs, 1 wine glass in a wine producing county.

Comfortable and enjoyable. Owners have provided every amenity. Well done.

Had family visiting from the UK and we did a road trip of the North Island, loved our stay here just outside of the city with plenty options in petone for the evening meal. Lovely house with some History and a great location

The house was charming quiet and really close to the golf club.
The only thing I found was the bed was to firm for my back other then that it was great

Great wee spot to chill and not far away from shops too.

A wonderful old building with absolute charm. The interior has been renovated and furnished to an exceptional level. It is close to the shopping centre and beach, and easily accessible to Wellington. The house was warm, quiet and extremely comfortable.

Our staff enjoyed their staff and commented that the beds were comfortable and residence was clean and tidy. No off street parking for the large work van but it was safe!

Lovely unique property, handy to Petone’s main street and within easy reach of Lower Hutt and central Wellington. Very spacious house with an amazing feature staircase. Had everything we needed and comfortable beds.

I am really glad we chose this place for our few days in Wellington. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to friends. The whole place feels freshly remodeled. The owners/managers are very responsive. There is a great coffee shop one block down the street where we would grab breakfast every day. Petone is a great neighborhood with easy access to Wellington to the south and the wine country to the northeast.

We had a very enjoyable extended weekend stay with family members who hadn't been together for a while. The space was ideal for us to gather, very comfortable and warm.

This is a great little property in the heart of Petone. Easy walking to nearby shops and restaurants and easy public transport into Wellington. Hosts are great and the venue has everything you need.

No one staying here can forget this historic old place combining all its golden kauri fittings with an efficient, modern well equipped bathroom and kitchen. We would certainly stay here again.

Host was very accommodating in making this work. All the luxuries I needed to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Great location. Walking distance to so much and easy to drive to and from. A beautiful old building. Great place thankyou

After checking in, we went for a walk along the beach, which was only about 3 blocks away. There was plenty of thins to do and eat “downtown”, which was s within a short walking distance. For 2 of us, the place was huge, but we enjoyed our stay a LOT.

Petone is a beautiful town, close to Wellington Harbour, it has some great places to eat and an amazing gluten free bakery. A highlight was a communal water foutain in the main street with natural spring water. The locals come each morning to fill up their drinking water containers, this water is wonderful

The property was perfectly placed for everything in Petone.
The owners were easy to deal with. We have rented a few times through Bookabach. No complaints at all with this booking.

We loved this place! The building is old and charming, but fantastically and beautifully maintained. Its very spacious inside, with three large bedrooms, a cavernous living / dining space, and the biggest kitchen of any place we stayed in NZ. The kitchen is fully modernized and thoughtfully outfitted. Its also the only place we stayed that had a clothes washer, dryer, AND a dishwasher. So convenient.
Its just a block away from the many shops along the strip in Petone, but enough that it was plenty quiet. Similarly Petone is far enough from downtown Wellington to be more relaxed and less harried but still easy to zip down there for Wellington attractions. Absolutely one of our favorite stays.

Great location, short walk into the main street with many restaurants. Easy on street parking. Lodge itself huge and really interesting, loved all the wood. Well equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom. Downsides - no real outside space, small balcony accessed from one of the bedrooms but not an interesting view.

Great building to stay in although from the outside you wouldn’t know the beauty that lies within.
Everything you need is provided.

Great and comfortable love staying at the Orange Lodge has everything u need nice and close to the shops and beach. Would actually love a spa perhaps out the back in the courtyard would make the place 200% and cosey you wouldn't want to leave but apart from that wonderful getaway place from the moment you walk in the door you already free like your on holiday it's like you feel like you are wherever you wanna be u could be anywhere really Paris Bali etc etc cause you only can see the blue sky and sunshine coming through the windows so u could be anywhere and it's great so private aswell you don't even have to close the curtains it's that private it's soo lovely would definitely come back for sure it's our 2nd time already and it won't be our last. Kind regards Mel & Rusty.

Loved this property. Adored the layout and the integrity of the original building … although an extra bathroom would have been a bonus. Super close to Jackson street and easy access to motorway.
