Disappointing

The hotel is close to many restaurants, metro station (Megaro) and a walking distance for Athens main touristic attractions. The breakfast was various, good. The staff was kind, willing to help.

1. The hotel is near a very busy street so even in the night there are a lot of traffic- so the noise is very loud and air is not very good to breathe. 2. The room were very noisy-had to change first room (even if I requested one "quiet"- not near street, elevator or AC fan), my first room was near hotel's sewage system of central AC so I felt as sleeping with my head into an engine; 3. So I requested to change it with another quieter, they changed, indeed was more quite BUT....stinking of smoking from cigar- I complain;t they gave me a smoking room but they said they don't have such type of rooms and smoking is banned. In theory maybe is banned but practically, despite the room have balcony, someone smoked so hard inside it the smell couldn't be eliminated, despite I kept AC and door open all time, pleased them to change the bed linen every day and so on. I think, beyond the guest lack of basic value and respect, the hotel's guilty because they should get fine to such guests and display warnings everywhere. Finally I had to sleep last 3 nights in a stinking room, because no other free room and exhausted to change rooms. But the overall experience of staying in their rooms and sleeping was very very bad.

A little distant from the central Plaka area, takes approximately 30-40mins by foot but can easily get a taxi or access public transport

Highly recommended if on special offer.

Breakfast was everything you could wish for. I ordered a taxi , it was waiting for me on time. The evening brasserie food was very good, service good, nice environment.

No room kettle for making early morning tea in bed. Didn't want to be bothered with room service at 7:30am.

A functional and good value hotel, somewhat away from the main tourist sites but close to Larissa train station.

Not great as a tourist, but a good place to stay for those moving through Athens.

Everything. The breakfast bouffet was very good with everything you expect.

The location. But it îs my own fault. We wanted to stay near the fish Market, and there was a fish Market near us, a tiny restaurant called The fish Market.

Excellent location close to the city center (great connectivity via trolley, bus and metro), delicious breakfast, kind staff and overall, great stay! Will be happy to be back ☺️

It served my needs but did not 'wow' me. The rooms were clean, hygienic and well prepared.

The front desk staff were helpful and efficient. The kitchen staff were helpful but unenthusiastic and not tuned into or anticipating the needs of their guests. Having just come from the Hyatt and Academia Hotels, this difference in attitude and service was striking. I believe a budget hotel can distinguish itself from its peers (not high-end hotels like the Hyatt sure), by making its staff far more guest-oriented, especially in the kitchen. Also, the breakfast food, while adequate and tasty, was luke-warm, not hot. With these minor adjustments, I would recommend Athenais Hotel to anyone - but not with the flaws highlighted above. I hope this feedback is viewed as constructive and helpful.

Warmer breakfast food (bacon, eggs, etc), neutral attitude of kitchen staff (i.e. not engaged or awake to guests needs - very few smiles or personal interaction).

Exceptional

Very nice hotel staff, the room had an amazing view, food was also good. The hotel area is very safe. We took a walk at 10 PM and we had no problems. The staff wear mask and at the breakfast you could find on every table hand sanitizers. One day I asked the receptionist for some indications about turist attractions and he explained to me very calm and nice, using a map to be more clear and a very good English. After the check-out, I could leave the baggage in the luggage room for a few hours with no charge. Very happy with all and I will definitely come back!
