About this villa rental
Villa Finlandia is a lovely Scandinavian style lakefront home and a perfect location for a family vacation. Sitting on top of a small hill, it offers wonderful views of the lake. An acre of manicured lawns, private sandy bottom beach, 2 piers for relaxing and docking boats, a floating raft, huge water trampoline (shared with sister villa next door) and waterside fire pit for guests private use.
This house is ideal for large families who want their own waterfront with a large yard for kids without danger of road between house and lake!
Lounging on the pier, guests can enjoy the fun 'wake boarding show' that goes by. The beach between the two piers is ideal for little ones to play in the water, sandy bottom, shallow and very gradually deepening towards the end of the piers. At the beach, a beach house with living room and extra bedroom/changing room, refrigerator and comfortable lounge area for waterside relaxing.
Large deck by the main house over looking the lake and beautiful views around with dining area and gas grill. Framed by huge oak trees. Night time star gazing at its best. Beautiful scenery. Tranquility. Covered verandah with more dining space.
Kitchen is newly updated with a fabulous 6ft x 6ft white quartz island and counters, fully equipped and ready for family dinner parties. The open plan living with a new great room , kitchen and dining area offers a perfect place for the whole family to be together. There is plenty of table space for a large group, both inside and out. Large screen TV, Cable and WiFi !
Lower level with a bar, living room with a beautiful billiard table.
The design is clean, fresh and cheerful. Cathedral ceilings. Brand new white washed wooden floors through out for clean low allergen environment. Pretty china and glass cabinet full of wine glasses waiting for the vacation to start....
Villa Finlandia is situated in the middle of the Powers Lake, on Jefferson Island. Couple of minutes walk to the bar/restaurant Annex, where live music and fun evenings take place. On the lake the social scene is busy, there is the wonderful and popular 'rock bar' - a shallow area in the middle of the lake where boats anchor and people mingle and have fun (volley ball and cook outs in the middle of the lake). The 4th of July fireworks on this lake are impressive, the Powers Lake Yacht Club even host a Venetian Carnival - a must see - as pontoon boats get dressed up and parade around the lake competing for a winner! Sailing school for children, regattas, dinner parties, ladies tennis, all part of the Powers Lake Yach Club activities.
Lots of festivals nearby! To mention few: Country Thunder Concert (mins away), Alpine Valley summer concerts and Lake Geneva has events through out summer...
Guests may bring their own boats and dock at Villa Finlandia's pier. Boats can be rented nearby on the lake. Ask for the info.
Wintertime the area is a wonderful place to enjoy skiing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice fishing, etc. Villa Finlandia has its own hill for sledding, Powers Lake has a busy ice fishing scene and derby, and the nearby lakes offer ice sailing and other fun activities. There are 3 ski hills nearby; Wilmot just 7 minutes drive, Grand Geneva about the same and Alpine Valley little further. Lake Geneva hosts an international ice sculpture festival and Powers Lake has its own ice fishing derby.
Please note that during wintertime, the boathouse is not included. So the 8th bedroom, which is in the boathouse, is not included.
Any extra guests, events, parties, pets, etc, to be discussed with management with an agreement made in writing prior to booking.
NOTE: The professional maintenance crew is following official guidelines and recommendations by the CDC for the cleaning routine, disinfecting properly between bookings. Also offered is a self check-in with a smart lock.
NOTE 2: Guests booking longer than 2 weeks, have a balance payment due 90 days prior to arrival.
NOTE: SISTER VILLA NORDICA - next door ! This is right next door to Villa Finlandia, has its own waterfront, boathouse and piers. The water trampoline is shared by the two properties. The main house has 5 bedrooms, boathouse one. 17 bed spaces in all. These two villas can be rented together for large groups, weddings and special events. Listing on vrbo 9075479. All events must be discussed and approved by property owner, Extra fees may apply.

Plenty of room! Kitchen accessories could use a bit of an upgrade ( baking pans were over used) sharp knives need holder not just thrown in drawers. Dangerous very sharp just laying in large drawers. No soaps or detergents, toliet paper in bathrooms provided. Be sure to shop ahead of your visit. Found the property to be visually nice but water access was a workout. Lots of stairs with a steep grade to lake. Must be able to climb!
All in all, it was a good week for us and house was comfortable. Bring beach towels! Maintenance crew was very pleasant and prompt with issues that needed attention. Suggestion, might want to get a trash compactor! Garbage is a real problem. Enjoyed our week!

We rented both houses. See my extensive review included at the sister house.
The houses are well equipped, clean, and have a beautiful setting on Powers Lake. Especially enjoyed the large patio, with spectacular views of the lake, and plenty of seating.
Check in simple, and Helena was a great host, and very responsive to our few needs.
We would highly recommend eith of these houses!
Thanks Helena

The lawn areas down by the water and around the house need attention.
As far as the sandy beach it consisted of one step leading to the water. NO actual sandy beach for children to play on, I have pictures to prove it.
Rocking chairs are in desperate need of painting. Every time you sat in one you were picking off paint chips.
The fireplace in the eating area had burned wood in it and had a horrible odor.
We had nine adults and 3 children and upon our arrival the ONE garbage can was 3/4 full. We arrived Friday and the garbage pickup wasn't until Monday. Our house rules stated if you produce huge amounts of garbage take the extra garbage home with you, REALLY!. The owner needs to have garbage pick up more than once a week for that amount of guests.
It also lists the boat house as sleeping accommodations but has no bathroom!
Not worth the money.

This property is hands down the best vacation rental there is in Wisconsin !! The house is always super clean, all appliances work well, the rooms are spacious, the decor is nice and welcoming, and it has the most incredible outdoor patio/backyard/dock area.
My family comes up to Powers Lake at least once a summer and we book for as long as we possibly can (multiple weeks at a time). The owner knows everyone around the lake and can get you great recommendations on rental boats, restaurants, etc. The outdoor area has plenty of room for kids to enjoy games, barbecuing, and of course - the beautiful lake! We spend hours on the dock in comfy chairs hanging out with friends and family. The house also has a fun water trampoline that the kids love. There is also a boathouse to use that has additional rooms, couches, and a fridge to keep beverages and food cold. The house is located on the bay of Powers Lake, so it is very tranquil for swimming and canoeing. The fishing off the dock is also very fun if that’s something of interest. One of my favorite things is the amount of outdoor seating that the owner has. There’s 3-4 areas for guests outside to spend time, making this a perfect location for big groups and for extra family/friends to come visit.
The inside of the home is huge with a beautiful, newly renovated kitchen. We cook a lot of meals here so this is really perfect for those looking to cook at home. The beds are all very comfortable and bathrooms are clean. The basement has yet another huge area of couches for hanging out - and a pool table for guests to play and have fun!
Our latest stay was a quick NYE 4 day vacation. The owner was super easy to get into contact with and she has everything ready for us when we arrived. Also, if we ever needed anything additional (towels, service, etc), she has staff nearby that can come within the hour to take care of everything. Based on how much we love it during the summer time, we figured this house would be perfect for a winter getaway with a built in sledding hill and close proximity to skiing - and we were right!
I’ve stayed all over Wisconsin, and this is really my favorite vacation rental I’ve experienced over my 20 years of going up there.
Thank you so much for all of our amazing stays, and we look forward to many more!

Once again an absolutely fantastic time was had by all. This is not the first time we stayed at one of these sister villas and it definitely won’t be the last. This time was fall time so we didn’t do all the water based activities we’d normally do in the summertime. However, that didn’t diminish the stay. The house is so well appointed with all the amenities from kitchenware, serving platters etc… to easily put on a big spread for all. The downstairs “billiards” room/bar area was a favorite hang out for all ages. We had lots of choices to either hang out in large groups or break off into smaller groups throughout the property. The covered veranda was a favorite spot of mine in the evenings and to have dinner on.
Everything about our stay went very smoothly from initial booking to check out. We look forward to future trips there. Some of our group drove up from Chicagoland and some flew in to O’Hare, either way it was such a quick short drive but felt like we were so far away from all the hustle& bustle!

Working with the property manager was a challenge before arriving. Finally got the arrival info with a lot of extra rules. You will need to bring your own beach towels, wash clothes, and face towels. Never have heard of a property not offering wash clothes and face towels. (They only provide bath towels for you in the house.) Also you will need to bring your own propane for the barbecue grill. Other than that the house was average.

A beautiful lake but house needs simple maintenance tasks performed e.g. Gas bar b q unusable.
The mattresses on most beds need replacing. The garbage situation is woefully inadequate for this many people. The lower floor bedroom has a severe mildew smell, as well as a mildew/mold stain on the ceiling. The lower level bath has no toilet seat cover, Most doors squeak and many don't close completely. Several door handles are loose. Also, the crisper drawer in the fridge was badly cracked and unusable. Whoever is supposed to manage this for the owner is NOT doing his job. When he finally called back he said he had just gotten off a plane. Someone should be at the property for check in and available to answer questions. The owner always returned emails but no one seemed to be available to solve problems. We had a great time largely because of the neighbors fireworks competitions and the ambiance of the lake.

Our family of 16 has been vacationing together in the summer for years, including a number of visits to Wisc. This was one of the best places we’ve visited. Lots of indoor and outdoor gathering places, comfortable sleeping arrangements, a nice dock to swim from and a really clean and quiet lake.

We had a wonderful week at Villa Finlandia with family and friends. Our group was ages 7-73, kids, teens, and adults. Everyone had a blast! The house was very large and accommodating for all of our needs. The lake, boating, swimming, trampoline, wave runner, fishing...something for everyone!

Absolutely amazing!
We stayed at Helena’s property with a big group and loved every second of it. The location is perfect, with super easy access to the water, great local attractions and restaurants, and in a wonderful community. The house was fully equipped for our stay, with plenty of space for our 18 guests and beautifully decorated and furnished. In addition, Helena’s communication and helpfulness was top-notch, and really made our stay as easy as possible from check in to check out. We really couldn’t have asked for more for our stay. I cannot recommend this property or Helena as a host any more strongly. We will be back soon!

property review
Overall it was an ideal property for our 15 person group, including 7 children under 4 years old. The house is spacious and well maintained. The lake and its options were perfect. Joel, the property caretaker, was attentive and helpful when minor problems (thermostat battery replacement and dehumidifier needs) arose.
I have two suggestions. A new humidifier should be purchased and operate full time. The one Joel provided leaked and required water to be mopped up frequently. The lower level needs one due to the mustiness. Also, in consideration of the size of the property (sleeps 21) the high rental cost, the trash disposal situation should be addressed. Trash should be picked up twice a week, not once. This may require extra cost but encountering almost full trash and recycling cans upon check-in starts one off on the wrong foot. It's a big, expensive rental and should be maintained accordingly.

Family Reunion
We held a large family reunion at the property over Thanksgiving, and had a wonderful time. The house is quite large, with ample dining seating for a large group of people. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, plates, silverware, etc. to accommodate many people. We were there in November so we didn't take advantage of the large yard or lake amenities, but I can imagine in warmer months it would be an awesome place to stay!
4.8
Huge house and plenty of space for a big group of people. We didn’t have too many people but it was nice to have a pool table downstairs and enough room for people to spread out and relax. One item that wasn’t so bothersome but we noticed was the musty smell in parts of the home especially the basement. Obviously it’s a lake house so not a big deal.

Great house!
This property on Powers Lake was the perfect spot for our large family gathering!. Plenty for the grandkids to do, well-furnished kitchen for meals, lots of gathering spaces, a large and shaded deck for relaxing (most of our meals were on the deck). The grandkids would say that the water trampoline was the highlight - it certainly provided hours of entertainment! One of our best vacations ever!

We had 19 family members for our family vacation of various ages and there was something for everyone. The house was roomy, beds were clean and cozy, lots of outside seating, and the pool table and water trampoline were a big hit. We also rented paddle boards and a pontoon boat so there were plenty of things to do. I think a second frig would come in handy but we made do with ice and coolers and the gas grill needs to be replaced. There is a charcoal grill to use instead.

Huvila Findlandia was perfect for our special birthday family celebration !!! It was everything we could ask for. The photos are accurate - and there was amazing communication with the owner. The house was immaculate and a stunning lake home. We would recommend this property- it checked off so many boxes for us! The water trampoline was the biggest hit with the kids! The fire pit was a nighttime gathering place for stories and s’mores - we used Toppels for firewood - Dan could not have been nicer! So reasonable! The Annex is close and great! We barbequed mostly but did order pizza our first night from Mama Cimino’s in Lake Geneva. We went to Haps Apple Orchard, biked at Kettle Moraine, and our runners loved this spot as well. We found pastries at Bodi’s Bakery in Twin Lakes. We spent a lot of time outside but there was enough room for us all to watch the Bears-Packer game in the living room! Stores are nearby but we
brought everything from home to get the most out of our lake time!!!
We hope to come back again!

Our family of 15 had a great time during our week's stay at this lovely Powers Lake Beach house. The 8 bedrooms were perfect for our group of 4 couples and 7 children and the multiple gathering rooms gave everyone space to be with their best friends. Having a boat dock where we could park our large pontoon boat worked perfectly so all we had to do to tour the lake was to hop in and turn the keys. The water trampoline was a treat for the kids and all of enjoyed grilling on the deck and cooking smores on the firepit. Also, we had plenty of plates and tableware so that we were able to have all of our meals there without the disruption of getting in our 4 cars and driving to a restaurant. It was a bonus having a washer and dryer. I especially enjoyed cycling around the lake every day and swimming across the cove in the morning when no motor boats were allowed. I highly recommend this place and hope to return there next year! Don Pearce

The home was beautiful and spacious with plenty of seating for our large extended family. Unfortunately the air conditioner for the main part of the house including the kitchen was not working at all. The rooms quickly heated up, especially when we were making meals and it was difficult for a little ones to even nap in the afternoon because of the heat. No attempts were made during the week of our stay to repair the air conditioner. I would’ve expected to be offered compensation for not having the promised air-conditioning, but we heard nothing from the owner. On a less serious concern but still gross… The refrigerator ice chute spit out black mold/mildew with the ice into our drinking glasses. A cleaning crew came by but decided not to clean it while we were there. Strange! Also please note that while there are sleeping quarters in the boathouse there is no toilet.

Beautiful, spacious home on Powers Lake
This is a really beautiful home on Powers Lake. Extremely clean and really appreciated that the fridge/freezer were completely cleaned out prior to our arrival (not a fan of leftover food/condiments from previous renters). The house is nice and open with huge windows, really liked that there were 5 bedrooms on the main floor which made it easy for the older generation of our family. The kids loved the trampoline and the pier to fish off of. Definitely recommend this place and the owners were very quick to response.

Our stay on Powers Lake was a perfect place for our growing family to get together.Plenty of room
Our stay onPowers lake was wonderful from the many gathering places by the lake and on the outside decks. There was plenty of water activities and nightly bon fires and s’ mores to round off the day.We fished a lot with the grandkids- no big fish but lots of little ones for kids to catch and release. We needed to talk to owner of property and had quick reply with satisfactory results. The location was great for our Milwaukee and Chicago families. We live in MN and We enjoyed a new vacation location. We would love to come back again!

LOVELY location; perfect home for a group
We rented this home for a celebration for my husband's 50th birthday. We used the occasion as an excuse for a family reunion. This house worked out well for us. The location is ideal. We have family who live in the Chicago area and they all said Powers Lake was much quieter than Lake Geneva. I agree, now that I've seen both. It is a beautiful little lake, with plenty to see if you rent a boat. The kids fished (you are pretty much guaranteed to catch a fish...my kids caught more than 20 each!), swam, played on the incredibly fun trampoline, and enjoyed the pontoon boat we rented. While we spent the large majority of our time outside, we certainly enjoyed the house. It fit all of us well, and provided more than enough seating (both inside and out actually) for all the relatives to sit and talk and catch up. There are plenty of plates, glasses, utensils, etc for even the largest of groups. We found there was more than enough to support our group. It was a quick trip over to Lake Geneva to visit and shop and eat, so everyone in your group should have plenty of options for activities. We truly enjoyed our time at this house, and I'm sure you would as well.

Amazing home
Amazing home. I have to admit when I first drove up to this home I thought to myself this cannot be the same places in the pictures. But I can assure you it is as soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with a massive home that is absolutely beautiful looking out onto the lake. We were there for a staff outing and my entire staff sorely enjoyed the home, the trampoline in the lake, and the view. I could not be happier with the accommodations and it was absolutely perfect. Honestly I did not want to leave. Everything was what it was advertised to be.

Lovely spot, a few FYIs
This house suited our group of 19 very well. It was spacious inside and well-maintained. The house looks very small from the street but really opens up once you get through the front door. There were also many areas to gather outside that we all enjoyed. We were able to cook our meals with no problems and use the grill outside. The host provided helpful information about area attractions and options. The FYIs: we enjoyed swimming and using the floating dock, but the trampoline wasn't set up for our Memorial Day weekend stay. We ran out of a few provisions like hand soap, though there are places nearby to buy more. Some of the beds are in the dock house, which doesn't have a bathroom. There are also lots of house rules. Probably the biggest issue was the price was adjusted higher than the per-night "average" you see on VRBO after we inquired about availability, due to reported high interest. We did book for a holiday weekend but were surprised about this. Still an overall good experience.

Amazing trip from Finland
Our family from Finland had the best trip the USA, visiting relatives and touring around the States. Our favorite part of the trip was our family reunion on Powers Lake, WI, at Huvila Finlandia! This charming lake home was wonderful. Ideal for us so that the relatives who have not been to Finland for longest time, could feel the relaxing scandinavian atmosphere similar to our vacation homes back in the old country. Here at Huvila Finlandia we enjoyed lakeside living to the best. Grilling, swimming, boating, fishing, bar hopping, and managed a few rounds of golf even. What a great little gem we found, just wanted to share with anyone looking for a great family getaway!

Fantastic place to spend the weekend!
This is a spacious, immaculate and very comfortable place to stay. This property is ideal for bringing multiple families or groups of kids - there was one bunk bed room that slept all the girls we brought (6 of them between 12 and 15) and a separate house down by the lake that slept the older teenagers. The kids had a blast and it is perfectly set up for everything - from the trampoline on the lake and the diving stage, to boating, to the BBQ and making S'mores at night by the firepit. The place was perfectly equipped and the owner could not do enough to make sure we were situated and comfortable, she was very helpful. Extremely relaxing weekend, fantastic accommodation and great views of the lake from the deck and the dock. Easy walk to local pub. We'll be back!

Beautiful home on a great lake
Our family has been coming to this home about once a summer for the last 8 years, and we always have a great time. The sandy shoreline beach is perfect for children to splash around and swim. Trampoline and dock are ideal for older kids and adults to relax during the day. Every night we make a fire and roat s'mores, drink cocktails, and reminisce about our day. The recent renovations to the house make this place even more enjoyable, it looks just like the pictures, very open and bright. With Lake Geneva so close there is always lots to do. Great resturants, Apple picking, golfing and shopping are all with in 20 min. 5 min to Twin Lakes for groceries, resturants, ski show and paddleboard rentals. We love or trips here. Big thanks to Helena and her staff for maintaining and sharing this great property.
