location was great
hairball on the bathtub when I arrived. bathtub drain didn’t work and the whole tub need to be re-caulked. just too much deferred maintenance and not clean enough

The location is fantastic close to Parque 93 and very safe. Also the rooms are spacious. This was an apartment really more than a hotel room., hence the name. The staff was very helpful and tried to solve an annoyance which I'll post below. I liked that the property had its own kitchen and room service, which was reasonable and we enjoyed. The kitchen staff was also helpful and friendly, and loaned us a couple of things we needed in the room.
The televisions are small and quite dated. I could deal with that, but when I used the Direct TV control I couldn't get any channels to work on either tv (there's one in the living room, and one in the bedroom). When I called the reception for help, I was told the tv in the living room is just for use as a monitor, 🙄 and the tv in the bedroom only has international channels, which are somehow highlighted in the Direct TV guide. When I figured out which channels were available, there weren't any programs that anyone would really watch. No CNN, nothing like that, just random channels and supposedly international, yet everything was in Spanish. (I speak Spanish so that wasn't the problem, but the main channels RCN or Caracol from here weren't available).
I paid over 800,000 COP for 2 nights at this property, and I thought this was a bit of a splurge but I was looking for something higher end and thought I had found it here. So I was annoyed about the tvs but thought oh well, I'll go sit in that tub with a jacuzzi and relax, which from the pics I had seen here on Booking.com was the real reason I booked my stay at GIO. I started to fill the tub with hot water, saw a few hairs from a previous guest but spalshed those away with some water. But then I pushed the jacuzzi button and some real nasty water came out, as well as a sewer like odor that about made us gag. Needless to say we weren't going to sit in that tub. To try and bring this to a close they couldn't change our room, but serviced the tub the next day and we used it the second night. I looked again on Booking.com to confirm that they really were full and the app confirmed it was so, but was disheartened a bit to see that on other nights this place rents for about half of what I paid. If I had paid that price instead, I probably would have ignored these problems and not be writing this now.

I was hesitant to book this hotel because of some of the reviews but I am so happy I booked it anyway. I will most certainly be back. The area around the hotel is safe and fantastic. Packed with excellent restaurants (Maraflor and Osaki are two examples), nightly entertainment, high end shopping mall, 24 hour groceries, cafés and more! I was so delighted in almost every way. I stayed in the best suite and it was packed with features: 2 person hot tub, living room with a fireplace, office area, kitchen area with full size refrigerator, safety deposit box, television, beautiful and large bathroom. They have an underground parking lot which was amazing, despite some minor issues (see below)! And the kitchen staff really sealed the deal for me. Carolina in the restaurant spoke English and was so sweet and accommodating. I told her I was vegetarian and every morning she offered to make me meat-free scrambled eggs. The food choices are plentiful, delicious and the coffee did not disappoint!
I don't agree with the negative reviews at all. The staff was happy to replace my 2 towels whenever I asked and the building looked inviting from the outside. Inside, everything was clean and the upper floors are accessible by elevator. I do not feel that it is in need of renovations.
The negatives are as follows and are all minor: 1- the staff at the front desk was hit and miss in terms of speaking English but with a translator app it was fine. 2- the parking lot is a bit difficult to get in and out of because the door is controlled manually by the staff and there are lots of pillars which can be a challenge when there are a lot of cars in it. 3. The shower water pressure was mediocre but on a positive note the water stayed hot for a long time. 4. At night the outside sounds of partying and in the morning the traffic noise was a bit too loud but with a cheap pair of ear plugs I slept great.

they should say that taxes are not included when you book . you will get hit with 19% tax once you get there . not sure if this is booking.com or they . if you are not Colombian you can get it back in the airport .

I’ve been staying here since 2003 back when it was Casa Real and it’s always been top shelf. Great breakfast, huge rooms, very clean, friendly staff, good internet, right across street from the Z-Rosa park
No complaints

I like the location and the space. the rooms were big and the hotel also had parking.
I rented three rooms. the shower in one of the rooms was broken so water did not come through it. they changed us to another room but the other room was missing the coffee maker and the hair dryer, and the water was always cold.
The second room was missing the cable
for the TV so it didn’t work.
One of the ladies got mad when we requested more heaters and toilet paper. I expected a better service knowing that I reserved 3 rooms at once.
The location was great and parking as well

Location
Checkin had to be late (5pm instead of 3pm), I didn't get the room I paid. I got a room without a tub and when I requested a change, I still got a room lower grade than the one I paid for.

The breakfast was perfect and the location couldn’t be in a better place
The beds were terribly uncomfortable. We asked for another room and we’re told all the beds were similar. They gave us an extra blanket to pad it up but it was completely unacceptable.

Location is great
Dirty bathtub, dirty bed, damaged sofa. There is not even drinking water in the room, I tried to communicate about the room through their WhatsApp as they told me to and never got an answer, breakfast had not many options. I have been in MANY 4 stats hotel and this is definitely not a 4 stars hotel.
