Excellent property, easy to find, a most welcoming staff. Comfortable well appointed rooms with cool air conditioning on a warm day. Lovely roof top deck with a fantastic view. Very good meals with beverages of your choice to relax at the end of the day. Peaceful and quiet. Parking close by. Easy to arrange luggage transport by donkey.

We loved the ambience and artistic touches of this place!! It was eco friendly, gave back to the community and was in a great location. The food was amazing and views from the terrace outstanding. Excellent vegan / veggie options.
Secure parking available for motorbikes in square. Wish. could have stayed longer for the cooking courses. Next time.
Some people may find access difficult but donkey hire is optional.
The mattress was not the best. sorry.

This place hits eleven out of ten. Are you a solo traveling woman in Morocco? Make a detour and spend a night in Dar Zerhoune. You will be able to truly relax and regenerate.
Some people complain about the stairs. Yes, there are some steps. But nothing to worry about. And the little street is lovely.
The food, dinner and breakfast, is also lovely.

Dar Zerhoune is a delightful place to stay. Unique in many ways starting with the donkey to carry our luggage up the stairs. The staff were most accommodating and very pleasant. Everything was clean and neat. A short walk to the main square and withing walking distance of Volubilis. The food was good too.
One should be aware that there are more than a few steps involved in staying at Dar Zerhoune. It is a 5 minute or so walk up and down stairs to get there from the gate at the end of the main square. It is also a small building with multiple floors - and the eating area was on the top. All of this was no problem for us but it could be for someone else.

Beautiful view, great breakfast and food, very clean and comfortable, wonderful and kind service from staff. the view from the terrace was mesmerizing
Nothing really. a bit of a climb in and out but donkeys and a porter carry the luggage

Communication at Dar Zerhoune was by far the best of anyplace we stayed in Morocco. The staff anticipated our every need and provided great information. The dinner, breakfast, welcome snacks and tea were also top-notch and plentiful. The rooftop area was delightful!
My only negative is that our room was a bit chilly, though this was in March which is not the warmest time of year. The heated mattress pad on our bed was much appreciated and pretty much solved the problem. The room was also a little dark at night, but manageable.

Charming guest house. Gorgeous roof top view and dining area. Don’t miss the sunset. Excellent breakfast and dinner choices made fresh. Excellent room. Nicely decorated. Very clean facility. Room size was adequate. Large comfortable bathroom and shower. The staff helped me with a train reservation and arranged for a taxi. A map of the area is provided for both an area hike and directions to the Roman Ruins Volubilis. I highly recommend. Very relaxing. Wish I had been able to spend another night.

We loved our stay here. The staff is very attentive - even cooked dinner for us late after we informed them upon arrival we were going to eat in the town then decided not to. There are a lot of stairs here - both getting to the Dar and inside as well. The rooftop terrace provides a great panorama of both Moulay Idriss and Volubilis. Got a great feeling staying here.

Cheerful decor, cheerful staff, nice values including use of filtered water (avoiding plastic bottles) and pride in the local community. Can help with activities in the area. Wonderful rooftop terrace and restaurant.
Plumbing a little noisy.

The staff tried to be helpful. The top deck had a calming view.
We have travelled widely in Morocco and elsewhere in the developing world for over ten years. This was hands-down the worst place at which we have stayed. Our room lacked a conventional door key and was equipped only with a padlock, as on a storage closet. It was difficult to use. There was a stench coming up from the lower floors that indicated a sewage or major mold problem. Our room light had grimy glass and broken panels. The rug was exrensively stained. The shelves and doors had severely peeling paint. The. bathroom faucet had crudely hand-painted indicators for hot and cold. The bathroom window had splattered paint all across it. The shower walls had unidentifiable substances and stains on them. We have had wonderful things to say about all our other lodgings in Morocco, including some at the same price point as this place.

There are many options available to get to know the local customs and culture such as cooking classes and hidden village tours. We took the option of travelling on donkeys to explore the nearby Roman ruins of Volubilis. Unfortunately, the weather was very hot so we wanted to get there when it opened so the staff made up a wonderful picnic breakfast for us to eat at the ruins. Very helpful staff and a delicious dinner.
The wifi was dreadful and we had to leave earlier than planned as we urgently needed good wifi for work and for personal reasons. The bedrooms were airconditioned but most of the rest of the building was not so we were rather uncomfortable on a scorching 44-degree day unless we stayed in our bedroom.

Beautiful Riad. Hajiba was extremely kind, waiting up for our extremely late arrival and making us a fantastic breakfast in the morning.
Ideal stopover for visiting the ruins at Volubilis.
Difficult to find, however, we had help from kind locals.

A really cute place - cosy rooms and a great rooftop. The staff were really nice and helpful too.

Beautiful location, friendly staff - but most of all, the quality of the food. The dinner provided (on the roof terrace with glorious views over Moulay Idriss and the ancient Roman city of Volubilis below) was simply superb: possibly the best meal we've had in over 30 years of travelling in Morocco. Would stay here again just for this - but the service, decor, location and comfort were also top-class.
It isn't possible to park right nearby as the hotel is inside the pedestrianised old city (part of its charm) - park in the main city car park below (easy and cheap) and if you have heavy bags, there are donkeys available to carry them for you for 20 dirhams / $2. Very hassle-free and honestly not a big problem or a long walk.
