Great friendly staff, food &wine, antique feel, surroundings, parking, proximity to village, views.Nearby ferry trip and drive around the lough, Warrenpoint. Got lucky Weather Sun. Sun ,Sun. Reasonable whiskey selection. Well kept gardens. Great breakfast.Plenty of Carlingford leaflets etc and hotel history. Great room facilities esp bath. Nice cd of Irish music playing on arrival with homemade cookies and tea/coffee selection. Half door on front of hotel main house quaint. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, Castle and Marina. Near greenway and bike hire, golf club. Large TV. Want to go back get that relaxed feeling again.
A few easily fixed items - coffee weak at breakfast may be a barista offering? But plenty of top ups offered. Kettle not working. Mens downstairs toilet signage?

Really welcoming staff and a beautiful setting – right next to town but on its own private little plot of land. This is a gem of a hotel!
We were travelling with a toddler (never easy) but the staff made us feel very welcome and were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Loved the short walk into the beautiful town of Carlingford and the harbour, we also had a lovely morning exploring the gardens around the hotel with our daughter. The delicious breakfast was the cherry on top :-)

The location was perfect, enabling easy access to all on offer in Carlingford.
The room was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable.
The dinner was excellent and the breakfast equally so.
The staff were welcoming, thoughtful and eager to please.
We really enjoyed our visit and would love to return.
The only disappointment was being wakened at 2 AM by noisy neighbours who spoke loudly and banged the doors shut.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The staff were attentative.
The food for breakfast was limited. More than what I was told from people who went before. . The soup and pâté were poor
The medium steaks were so bad we'd rather not eat anything.
