Did not stay didn’t like it, they suggested in the morning I have breakfast in the bar, and I would be the only person for breakfast, there was a smell of beer in the entrance, saying I have been recently widowed. I did not feel safe there. He told me there was workers staying. I paid my money before I saw them on my card I am not happy, I stayed at another hotel which was excellent, very friendly anything you want very pleasant.. I would describe the hotel needing very major refurbishment, not suitable for a lady
Also, I was informed there was no food that night.

Cooked breakfast was excellent - hot and staff very pleasant

Lovely staff, excellent breakfast and nice large room.
3.0
Great location near the village centre. Breakfast was cooked fresh. Comfy beds
Room and bathroom were old and tired and in desperate need of modernisation to current standards. Food in the evening was only average.
4.5
Really good breakfast nicely cooked and presented
Restaurant was closed on the days we stayed, but we found good food elsewhere within walking distance

The hospitality was very good a lovely warm clean room and staff very helpful. Breakfast was cooked from fresh

I would have given this hotel straight 10s only problem was that there was no restaurant available for dinner on the day I arrived due to lake of staff. However the breakfast the next morning was excellent, other than this the room was clean warm well set up and comfortable. A lovely historic building located in a town with a unique atmosphere.
Only the restaurant availability issue

The owner and staff of the hotel were extremely friendly, helpful and professional at all times. The breakfast was exceptionally good, freshly cooked and served beautifully. The location of ther hotel was perfect for exploring the area.
I was slightly disappointed that evening meals in the hotel were not available but I was assured this was a temporary measure, however there are other places to eat and I recommend "The Garret" which is about five minutes walk.

All the staff were all so friendly and also so attentive. we were attending a wedding in the area and when we returned (late!) they had supplied a goodie bag of cold water and snacks which we thought was such a nice touch. The care and attention they give the guests are what makes this place truly special. I wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Lovely small hotel in the centre of Kirkcudbright. We had a suite which was very spacious and well equipped.
Food great and friendly staff.
Admittedly it was minus 5 degrees outside but the 2 x electric radiators just couldn't generate enough heat to warm the rooms.
Asked for supplementary fan heater which was quickly supplied and immediately improved the situation.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was fixed up cute. They offer food and a bar on sight.
I didn't like there was no elevator but it is an old historic hotel. The owner was more than happy to help us with our bags.

3.5
Well situated pub/hotel in the centre of town with cosy rooms and comfortable beds.
Breakfast was a bit hit and miss - one day you got everything without having to ask, the next day you had to prompt in order to get things (eg toast was brought to the table but no butter, cereal was out but no milk)
