Much needed break, generally relaxing, but a little disappointing in some aspects.

Location was fine and very picturesque, but suggested access times to the village and the beach were seriously over optimistic. We would definitely not recommend Odeseixe for a break at this time of year as the village is totally dead

Reception was delayed over an hour for cleaning and there was no gas or hot water for over 5 hours. The property is in serious need of maintenance & re-furbishment, including a bedroom window that did not fasten and a wood-burner that would not unfasten, therefore useless. Even for the relatively low price I would expect better furniture and equipment.

Good

Location might be a bit remote, however if you have car, it is close to the road that goes to beach and to other cities. Terrace is nice. Nice, simple place for longer stay once you have missing pieces

Knives were dull, no toilet paper, no sponge for dish wash. Room cleanup was done rather random. Would be happy to have bigger glasses, cups, bowls

Nice spot, though overpriced for the service you get

Nice and quiet area, overlooking fields and just 3,5 km from the beach. You can walk ir take the little beach train (in tge summer inly) that has a stop just 2-3min away by foot. Nice walk to the center of the village - great views. The walk back makes for a good exercise up the hill 😉

Equipments in our apartment needed replacement. Some terraces are small (still good for 2 though). Cleanliness was not top - only 1 person to clean all apartments. Management could be improved (e.g. informing ahead of time the receptionist of the apartments allocation, rather than we and her having to call upon arrival).

Exceptional

Quiet, comfortable location, told by landlord 15 min walk to village. Hot water good, landlord friendly and pleasant.

Turned out to be a 15 min walk to village but 30 minute walk back up heart attack hill. Felt we had some exercise though.

Pleasant

Overall a nice apartment, good layout. Beds were very comfortable.

We didn't know what number apartment we were in and it took a long time to make contact with the owner to find out. The location is out of town, but we knew that. We would not have chosen it if something in town was available. The bathroom lighting requires improvement, it is very dark in there. Barking dogs from nearby neighbour!!

Very friendly and accomodating host.

Great host that went the extra mile for our very late arrival. Nice and spacious rooms. We were able to leave our car for our return after our Rota Vincentina hike. The proprietor also owns a nice coffee shop walking distance in Odeceixe.

Unique location above town with very modern architecture and decor. Quiet and secluded.

An amazing location above the main town site. Beautiful rural farm setting. Lovely "apartment" with tile floors, dark wood and even a visiting cat:). We arrived after dark on foot and the owner generously offered to bring us a lavish dinner from his restaurant in town. Cost a little more than we might have paid if we went out, but it was nice to stay in and enjoy after a long day's hike.

might be better in warmer months

Reception was supposed to be from 4-6pm but no one was there. Our phones didn’t work when we tried to call so we waited in the cold for almost 2 hours. I had written him the day before but I guess he didn’t notice my message. The call finally went through at 6 and he arrived within minutes. Place was nice but cold even with heaters.

Location is far from town if you do not have transport. Long way to carry bags up and down steep hill. Cold rooms with no heating.

Relaxing time in Odeceixe

The apartment had a beautiful terrace. Unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to use it enough. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms where spacious and comfortable. The place is quiet and peaceful for a relaxing holiday.

Because of their mistake we had to stay one night in a single bedroom apartment when we were 4 people and booked a two bedroom apartment. They offered a reduction of 20€ for the inconveniences, which we thought wasn't enough. Booking.com interceded for a 50€ reduction in the end.
