the property is superb. you could not have it in a better location. the cabins were great. So much paraphernalia to look at….the history of great mountain climbers.
we were very lucky with perfect weather. Chimborazo was free of clouds. What a gift. not to mention the beautiful alpacas roaming around to complete the picture.
the food was excellent .

Breathtaking location! Loved seeing all the alpacas, rabbits and deer. The decor was so cool, with mountaineering memorabilia everywhere. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I have an allergy to feathers and they changed my bedding quickly. The food was very good. It's secluded and beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer.
It was a bit cold in the room, but they provided us with space heaters. Just as a note, there is no wifi or cell reception.

Stunning views, gorgeous place, food was very good. Llamas are so beautiful 😍
The heater was not warm enough in our room.

The location is amazing, very beautiful
I arrived and my girlfriend had altitude sickness, its 4200m above sea level. I had never experienced this before, and I was not sure about how to react. She could not breathe, she was getting desperate, she was panicking. I desperately asked the receptionist for help and the only thing they gave me was a generic tea o coca, which did not work. I asked if they had any oxygen and they were concerned only about my ability to pay the booked room. The receptionist did not know what to do, he acted uninterested. This was an emergency, i could see my girlfriends lips becoming pale and I was scared. The staff had NO IDEA how to guide me, their major interest was for me to pay the booked night.Including myself, there were a total of 3 guests in the entire hotel and I could have not had the worst service experience. I ended up paying 50% of the price because of a threat of the owner. They were not prepared to handle this situation at all. No oxygen, no interest, no nothing, not even fast directions of how to get out of the altitude faster.
Amazing facilities, amazing place, overpriced, bad experience with altitude sickness.

my boyfriend and I agree this was our favorite stay of our trip in Ecuador. we spent less than 24 hours and sadly it was cloudy for most of our time but we got a beautiful view of Chimborazo from about 6:30-8am. the staff was extremely friendly and pleasant, the food was delicious, and the room was very comfortable- if not cold, but they provide heaters and they lit the fireplace in the common space to make it cozy as well. the beds are comfortable and warm.
it was rather empty when we stayed which made it feel a bit more desolate but it almost added to the winter lodge vibe!

Everything. Great location, staff and food. We were worried about the high price for us, but it was one of the highlights of our holiday, so worth splashing out for.
Leaving after only one night!

Is is situated on the foothills of Chimborazo. The staff is super friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable (includes a great selection of photographs and books), the food was great (they made changes of the menu regarding our food allergies and nutritional requests).

Such an amazing location and beautiful lodge. The thoughtful touches that went into the decor, snd the communal space with fireplace. It gets cold here, so luckily the rooms have heaters to take the chill off. I hiked the nearby Chorerro Canyon with I would highly recommend. I want to do a bike trip down the volcano and was having a hard time finding an agency to take me - the staff called some local companies they new helped me book a tour for the next morning. Breakfasts were great!
It can get cold here!

Everything was top notch. The setting is stunning! Something out of a movie. Beautiful details in the decoration of the cabin. The food and hospitality by Marcos and his staff was very much appreciated! I hope to be back and I fully recommend this beautiful place!
I liked everything!

from the moment we arrived (even before) the entire experience was exceptional. Lised in Riobamba guided us to the lodge as Google Maps sent us on a wild goose chase. Upon arrival, Leandro was there to help us with our bags and get us installed in our room. when we arrived to the dining hall, he had a beautiful fire going in the fireplace. After serving us a beer, he and his team prepared a delicious tilapia dinner with fresh veggies and dulce de babaco for dessert. Couldn't have been better. Breakfast in the morning was equally as good and the staff was totally friendly and accommodating
the decoration of the dining hall was fantastic with all kinds of climbing paraphernalia lots and lots of wood. we had a spectacular view of Chimborazo
the only improvement I would suggest would be to put actual sheets on the bed.

The remote place and the eco driven way of bringing guest up there is very pleasant.

Simply amazing place… So rustic & original, exceptional view from the room. Food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast. Staff is super nice and helpful, can’t recommend enough !
was traveling solo on motorcycle and the Lodge made it even more memorable… such attention to every detail
Could not see the volcano because of the clouds, but it’s not the lodge’s fault…! loved my stay

It is one of the most stunning locations I have ever been! The Llamas really add to the authentic Ecuador feeling!
Pillows were flat.

An incredible place. Have not seen anything like it. This is not just a lodge, it is a mountaineering museum. If you are in the Chimborazo area and do not stop there, it will be a big mistake. It's great. Expensive but well worth the money. It’s a pity that we didn’t know how wonderful it is here and didn’t plan for a longer stay. Best mountain lodge I've been, and I travel a lot. An absolute must-see.

Everything was amazing! The staff is very courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. They engaged in conversations, shared different tips and stories or anecdotes. During breakfast they asked how we slept the night before and not to mention that as soon as I parked I was greeted by someone in the parking lot who guided me to dinner and took my luggage to my room. I can’t emphasize how amazing the staff particularly Eucebio and if I have the name right Severino (I hope I got the name right). The food was also excellent! I received a message to confirm my stay where I was asked if I had any food restrictions. As they served dinner they asked who in my party had the restriction so thay they knew who got which plate. I've had places where I had to remind them time and time again but here they just knew and were on top of it. The food quality and variety is great as well. The rooms are well taken care of. They are cozy, clean and very organized. With good weather, the view of Chimborazo is lovely. I was also met by one of the owners and she was great as well. I will definitely come back and recommend if!
The fact that you can't pay with a debit or credit card and that there weren't souvenirs available for purchase

Beautiful location - couldn't really ask for a better view of Chimborazo. Staff were very friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable - great shower (pressure and temperature), which I know is rare in rural areas of Ecuador. Food was good - in fact I felt like I was given *too much* food for breakfast.
I was quite disappointed to find that despite it being advertised that "Dinner is included" in the price, this does not include any drinks at all. I would expect at least a glass of water with dinner and not have to pay for a bottle. It was a shame there were no water refill facilities (as far as I could see) which is fairly common in most hotels and hostels in Ecuador, meaning excessive plastic waste with bottled water.
The pillow on my bed was so thin that it basically felt like there was no pillow.

The most i liked the wildlife.
It was very cold in the room, in the restaurant.
4.8
The lodge is just by the feet of Chimborazo, there is no better place to be to explore the area. Marco was so nice and took me for very long hikes all around, the lodge prepared me to lunch to take away for the hikes. It was super beautiful, the staff was super sweet and friendly.
The only thing is that it can be really cold at times. There was a heater in the room but still, come with many layers for indoors as well.

The old climbing photos and gear is incredible.

We really enjoyed our stay at Chimborazo Lodge.
The property itself is an unique place with amazing view of the Chimborazo Volcano.
Everything here is very special: location, service, atmosphere.
The whole team of the lodge did everything to make our stay in the Chimborazo Lodge enjoyable.
Nothing to say negative
