location and price
no fridge in room communal one was a bit smelly and dirty

The location is great, 1 min from the main square.
The room was not sealed with gaps under the door and a cardboard completing the window glass. No reception, just those hostel volunteers asking for payment at the door receiving messages from a supposed manager. They charged more than what shows in my booking and kicked us out earlier than agreed via message.
They also miss a lot in the details of the facilities... Clearly there's no proper maintenance as the place is rundown. Beautiful mango trees are not taken care of so the whole place smells rotten mangos.
No hooks in the bathroom or a mat, just beach towels.

It's a cute place close to downtown. They had cats which was a nice bonus! Didn't talk to the staff much, but when I did, they were friendly.
Even though there was an event happening nearby, didn't find noise to be a problem.
Nice and close for checking out some cute restaurants as well as the Art Walk.
The mattress is quite hard and the bed sounded like it would fall apart anytime I moved which made it hard to fall asleep.
Found it a little hard to find the place at first, but in the end parked and walked around and found it.

Lovely and fun space, perfect location, tucked away around the corner from the central area.

Location was great and owners were very helpful
Water wasn't available on two different days; running the shower or faucet produced nothing.

Close to the square in old town San José. Quiet, easy to get to, very friendly and helpful folks running it. My speed- not fancy but clean and friendly, comfortable and accessible. I had great coffee and a smoothie for breakfast:) Great area to wander on foot, felt safe at night, close to an estuary that had good bird watching in the morning.
Nothing.

The owners are the kindest and most hospitable people ever.
There is some noise from the main road.

This is a small hotel with a wonder bohemian/vintage Mexican vibe. The owners are very friendly, thoughtful and gracious. Provided very helpful recommendations for places to hike, eat and visit. Fabulous location near the estuary trail leading to the beach and next to the art galleries and central plaza. I appreciated all of the trees and garden and elevated walkways and outdoor places to relax and art

Very convenient location and friendly staff.
Room was very close to the road, and there are lots of traffic noises at night.

The hotel has an awesome, laid-back vibe and a perfect location, literally around the corner from the main square, with a wonderful breakfast place right across the street. It feels like a converted hostel and would appeal greatly to the backpacker type of traveler but without feeling like a party house. There are plenty of outdoor places to lounge, lots of books to read, and board games to play. There's a full, well equipped, outdoor kitchen available for guests to use. They provide free drinking water, a well as real, freshly brewed espresso in the morning, which was great! There are at least 4 cats that reside on the property, providing lots of cute, little heads for scratching. It's a friendly, chill place that has a real Mexican feel. We really liked how covered in plants the property is and enjoyed hanging out under the palapas during the evenings. Overall, we liked it. It was a great fit for this 40-something couple without kids.
Unfortunately, we do have a few complaints. The biggest one was the lack of housekeeping. We were there for 5 nights, and our room didn't get attended to once. We ran out of toilet paper and had to go ask for more. We ran out of clean towels and also had to go ask for more. Our dirty towels then remained on the floor of the bathroom for the rest of our stay because no one came to collect them. Our tiny trash can was overflowing 3 days in but was never emptied. The wifi password wasn't provided. We had to go ask for it. There were no toiletries in our room besides one small bar of soap, despite the listing saying they are provided. Overall, service was just a little lacking. And it's definitely no place for kids. Also, the cats.... while adorable, woke us up every night, at least once, with loud cat fights happening right outside our door.

nothing that I did not like

Quaint wonderful little hotel Casita close to everything. Staff is amazing..
Coffee made for us in am.
Would definitely stay again
The road noise can be very loud but unavoidable because of location.

Hotel Posada Señor Mañana is a small boutique hotel located close to the town square. Many shops and nice restaurants are an easy walk from the hotel.
There is NO dedicated parking, and no parking on the 1 way street in front of the hotel. Street parking is along the crowed, and busy, main street along the side of the property. The closest secure parking is a small, private, parking area close to the hotel.

really nice place to stay and nice vibe. great location, right in the centre. owners are super lovely and happy to help with restaurant accommodations and what not. room was clean, comfy and big enough. would highly recommend.
only issue was on our last night the power kept turning off and on which was unhelpful as the aircon was needed. this wasn’t the problem of the hotels though, just the area.
also, the Wi-Fi wasn’t that great. when it worked,it worked really well but throughout the day there were times that it just stopped working completely but soon enough came back on.

NIce staff. I liked that it was in walking distance from all the nicest restaurants and shopping in San Jose.
I enjoyed the garden and the choices of tables and seating out around the garden.
My room was very clean.
The room was okay for one person but small for 2.
There was construction next store at the time off my stay. I won't knock off points for that because it is temporary.. But it is right next to a very busy street and was really noisy most of the time except the few hours in the middle of the night. My headphones listening to soundscapes did not block out enough noise.
So - maybe 1 night I could put up with it but I could not have stayed another night.

Great price. What you get reflects it.
It's not luxuary, but is a friendly, welcoming, clean environment that I would stay at again if visiting San Jose del Cabo in future.
Location is great too!!
Nothing.
We arrived in dark and it wasn't Lit or anything so not the easiest to see. But it was there and the gate is right by where Google maps said it was so it not hard.
