Amazing in Guimarães

This is a great property for those who do not like to travel and stay in uniform, boring, and monolithic properties. For years I have sought out unique and interesting properties and Riberio was great!

There is very little to not love about the home, gardens, and staff.

Amazing place to stay

Amazing experience. My grandparents stayed at this wonderful historical house one night, and they spent around one hour talking about the place, the beautiful gardens, the delicate and special decoration... They also mentioned that the bed, sheets and towels were really high quality. The manager seemed to be incredibly nice, but the greatest was apparently the breakfast. They usually go to four or five starts hotels so they fact that they remarked how good it was, how complete and greatly done is quite something. They will definitely stay there again soon, and I might as well do so.

Nothing to add really. It was all pretty great. It is a little bit complicated to find without Google maps, but apart from that, it was a dream place.

Old manor house with lots of charm!

Staying at this beautiful house was like staying in the home of a beloved aunt. Marie Jose was a wonderful hostess, showing us around the gorgeous rooms of her husband’s ancestral home. We then had sparkling wine and cookies on the terrace, overlooking the stunning garden and the fields of their working farm. Our bedroom was large and comfortable, with a clean modern bathroom. The very ample breakfast was served in the sunny garden. An absolute pleasure.

The signage upon arriving was a bit hard to read, so we called to let her know we had arrived (as there did not seem to be a bell). The bedroom was a bit chilly but it warmed up with the use of a space heater. It’s also a bit dark, but neither of these detracted from our overall enjoyment.

Thank you for a delightful stay. Our host could not have been more helpful or welcoming. A very interesting building steeped in history. Only a short taxi ride into Guimaraes.
