About this house rental
Brand New for 2016 converted Victorian church
Contemporary, classy and very very comfortable.
The Church house is a charming newly converted Victorian church situated in a peaceful setting in the friendly town of Oswestry. One of Britain’s oldest settlements, dating back 3000 years ago.
For lovers of history, lively café culture, the town has growing reputation for its interesting mix of small, locally run shops that pride themselves on good old-fashioned service. Vibrant market days would not look too different if visited today by Oswestry’s most famous son, soldier and poet Wilfred Owen.
On the borders of Wales - only 5 minutes up the road, the town has also easy access to Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham,, only one hour away. Also, Shrewsbury ( just voted in the top 10 "best place to live in the uk" ) and Chester, are only 30 minutes away.
The three-bedroom property retains many beautiful features with vaulted ceiling and rustic oak beams. The contemporary decor in the lounge offers a cosy place to sit and enjoy the spectacular country views, with costume made arched windows and open plan stunning kitchen. The home also features under-floor heating, stone bath, Egyptian Cotton Bedding. The property sits on a generous plot with pretty gardens and plenty of parking
Come and enjoy both English and Welsh heritage in this very special home.

A great property with a real wow factor. Was a brilliant place for a family get-together. My dad grew up in Oswestry, and it was the perfect location for a stroll around the old sights. The master bedroom was a real treat for my parents, and the other bedrooms were also large and comfortable.
The kitchen had everything you could want, and there's a great sunny picnic bench in the grounds.

Stunning property, great location
Alsolutely superb rental, adjacent to lovely park, and only ten mins walk from the centre. Dont just use as a base because you really need to spend time in the property which is full of art, and quirky items, everywhere you look.
This is a brilliant refurb of an old church, with every modern convenience. We were blown away, from the moment we walked in the door, and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere (very) different for a special break.

Quirky and awesome
A lovely church conversion. Quirky, loved the art and the open plan downstairs. Great for social events/family gathering. Plenty of space and high quality furnishings etc.
However, lack of privacy due to layout and the fact that noise travelled throughout the building due to the nature of the building. The master suite was particularly vulnerable to being disturbed by anyone downstairs. The sound of the kettle boiling carried too the point the tv in the bedroom could not be heard. But as long as you know your fellow guests well it can work if you all go to bed/get up at the same time!

Quirky perfection!
What a fabulous property The Church is! Very eclectic decor and style mixed with comfort and all the convenience of home! Even disco lights and a karaoke machine (which we didn't work out how to use!). 5 minute stroll into the centre of Oswestry with it’s bars, pubs and restaurants so a perfect base to explore. We will be back!

60th birthday celebrations & long awaited catch-up
On arrival all you could hear from us ladies was OMG, wow, as we walked from room to room, this is a beautiful quirky property, ideal location next to a lovely park, close to shops, restaurants and bars of Oswestry, we did not need to use the car at all while there, where do we go next year? We all agreed that we’d struggle to top this.

Perfect Stay
Happy with everything. One issue is that the fridge is just not suitable. The spaces where you are meant to keep milk, juices mean that every time you open the fridge, the cartons just call out. Also, the freezer door just falls off. But it is most certainly not big enough. If there were 4-5 people staying there, this fridge is impossibly small. We would like to come back with other family members, but will not until the Fridge is replaced with something larger. Everything else great

Outstanding Church Conversion
Fantastic property with a real 'wow' factor. Spotless, high quality finishes everywhere and great location. If we are being really picky the only thing lacking was a teapot!

Amazing holiday home
We had a fantastic time in this beautiful and super cool converted church. We loved the open plan layout and the size of the place. When you step into the church you certainly get a ‘wow’ factor. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very much ‘boutique hotel’ style. It’s very comfortable and everything is there that you need. Parking is great and the location next to the beautiful park is perfect. Noise does echo around the place but I didn’t mind that considering how well put together the place was. It was great base to explore the area and N. Wales. Highly recommended

Beautiful holiday home
We have just returned from a two week stay at The Church. The property is lovely, with fun and funky decor, great furniture and a well appointed kitchen. The grounds were brilliant for our children to explore and there is tonnes of parking. The kids loved the little touches such as the train set and play tent left for them. The property is situated next to a beautiful park, through which you can access the town centre within a couple of minutes. The Church is very light and airy, which gives a feeling of space but when travelling with small children isn’t always a good thing! Sound travels within the property, and the master bedroom ceiling space is continuous with the vaulted ceiling of the main church, so there is no escaping the morning light or early rabble of kids!! For a family with older children or an adult only stay this property would be brilliant.

Amazing
As we pulled into the driveway already expecting to be thrilled from photos and reviews already seen, We were not disappointed. Entry into this amazing space was with ease, and we were Completely wowed as we walked into the open plan living space, every room is fabulous, the quality of finishings and furniture alike. The out door space for our two little dogs was perfect & the boot room offers a great place for them after a long walk, and for coats and shoes. We have travelled to near by places within half an hour, such as Llangollen & shrewsbury, and eaten in some great restaurants, Wilson’s in Oswestry & the Royal Oak in Treflach, both places offering delicious food, not to mention the delicious meals cooked and enjoyed here. The park adjacent to the house is a delight. We only wished we had a few more days to simply ‘ live ‘ in this outstanding property, indulge a little more in Netflix & marvel at its spender. Thank you Simon for sharing your home with us.

Fabulous property
What a fantastic property in a brilliant central location. The decor is stunning and extremely well kitted out. Perfect for our New Year celebrations.
Having stayed in many properties throughout the UK, I can honestly say this one is very high on my list of favourites. Couldn’t have asked for any more in terms of facilities within the Church and its on the doorstep of the town which has many shops, bars and restaurants.
Absolutely loved this property and would highly recommend to anyone.

The property was well equipped with extremely comfortable beds.

Had a great stay in this amazing house, perfect for a family get together
This house is absolutely stunning. Considering it’s size it still feels quite cosy. Lots of different seating areas and the mezzanine was a hit with the children. Super comfortable with beautiful touches everywhere you look. Everything you could need has been thought of and the personal touches makes it feel less of a holiday property and more of a home We would highly recommend it and would definitely stay again. Situated right in the centre of this lovely town the location is perfect too. Lots of independent shops to browse and cafes to enjoy, and everyone so friendly. It really was 5 star all round !

Converted church with the wow factor
This converted church, in a very central location, has been beautifully converted with lots of quirky features from the furniture and room decorations to the karoke machine, disco lights and hidden bedroom. Despite it's size it's beautifully warm (thanks to the under-floor heating). The bedrooms are well furnished with quality furniture and bedding. It has an absolutely gorgeous kitchen too. The whole place definitely has the wow factor. Communications was great in the lead up to and during the stay.
Unfortunately the shower in the main bedroom wasn't working and although they sent someone to have a look straight away, he was unable to fix it so couldn't be used during our stay.
Please note, sound travels in this lovely open plan space which can be an issue if you are a light sleeper and are using the main bedroom.
We would definitely return to this beautiful, memorable space.
