Los Ayala is a quaint little seaside village, with numerous hotels catering to Mexicans. Casa la Jolla gives you the small town Mexico experience in comfort and privacy. It's just few minutes walk to the town center or to the nice beach but away from the busier part of town. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days there with our daughter and two teenage grandchildren. The teens spent most of their time in the heated pool or up on the roof top patio, giving the adults lots of time to relax. The amenities were as promised, with a welcoming bag of coffee and some baked goods, ample dishes and cookware, games and a beach umbrella.
The host was quick to respond when something needed a little maintenance, and the maintenance fellow was friendly and helpful. The place is on a side street in a small Mexican town, neighboring local residences, which adds authenticity to your stay, but some bumpy places on the street. Los Ayala is just a few minutes drive from Guayabitoes, which is home to dozens of restaurants, a long beach, and a supermarket .
We are hoping to return again next year.

The property was beautiful in every way. Great care was taken to make every space comfortable and inviting. We greatly enjoyed the heated pool and used it several times a day. The casa was equipped with every possible item that one might need in a home away from home. I really appreciated the beautiful little library and all of the games and activities provided for our pleasure. Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Jolla. We highly recommend it

The property is stunning - the photos do not do it justice. We spent most of our time relaxing by the pool. As a note both the master suite and the casita are separate to the main living accommodation. The area around the house is “rustic”, particularly the road which is very uneven and may not be suitable for everyone. Los Ayala is a small, unsophisticated Mexican beach town. We enjoyed breakfast at Erika’s on the beach, dinner at Mawi and drinks and dinner at Barracuda. All in all a very relaxing holiday and a beautiful property.

This is a beautiful property - complete with private swimming pool and everything to make entertaining family easy. Around the corner from the little town of Los Ayala, the beautiful beach and commuter buses to local markets, it was ideal for rest and relaxation. I have to commend our landlady for being so accommodating and reachable! thank you Josie!!

We have stayed in many places but this was the BEST by far. The home was fully equipped with every thing. Very private and secure. Josie was so quick to react to any questions and very helpful. We plan to rent this property again for sure.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at Casa La Jolla and it never disappoints! It’s a beautiful home in a really cute little town. Everything you need is within walking distance. Josie is always very easy to get in touch with if we have questions :) Ricardo and Maribel (they look after the property) are lovely and prompt if you need anything or have any issues. Highly recommend !

We had a fabulous time staying at the immaculate property. Everything was amazing. Clean, safe and comfortable. Josie was extremely helpful from arranging a ride from the airport to setting up a chef to come cook for us. She always answered our question or concerns quickly. Everything provided was as the description said. Pool was great and very clean (thanks Richardo) and Maribel did a lovely job preparing the place for us thanks again I hope we will be able to stay but for sure will recommend this gorgeous property to our friends and family!!
Cheers!!

After checking in and a couple of days staying the smile just kept growing on our face. Well above what we expected.
Privacy and comfort will keep us coming back. Totally comfortable place. All you need and expect in your own place is on hand.
Pool is by far the centre of this place. There were days we just stayed and enjoyed the relaxation.
The town is quite layer back and relaxing. Felt totally safe walking and enjoying. Short cab ride to Gyuabitos for nightlife
Would I stay here again. Yup

An absolutely beautiful spot for a 2 week holiday with family. Everything and more was available at the property: pool toys, books, beach toys, card games…just to name a few! The house was even more lovely than its pictures! We enjoyed early morning coffees on the upper deck followed by fun at the beach and afternoons in the glorious pool! We can’t say enough good things about our 2 weeks there! We had a car that allowed us to drive to Rincon de Guaybitos but one could easily walk there too.

Such a relaxing, perfect stay in beautiful home. Rarely rented a place with every detail taken care of. The pool, the upstairs palapa, were the highlights. Many days, we did not go out much.

We enjoyed the property. It is well appointed and the pool is great - nice and warm. My only suggestion is to take some ear plugs as a precaution. The roosters start crowing at 3 am. They seem to move around so some mornings are worse than others.

Everything again was as enjoyable and comfortable as our first stay. Divine pool to enjoy before and after hikes and walks to beautiful beaches. Cooking at home or going out for the freshest of seafood. Comfortable beds and laughing at the roosters crowing to each other. Being in a true community in a welcoming small town. So much to appreciate!!!

This was our second time staying here. Fully stocked home. Beds are very comfortable and I love the layout. Gorgeous views from the top level. Perfect place for morning coffees and evening cocktail. We enjoyed our stay.
Thank you Josie

We spent 20 days at casa de Jolla. We have vacationed in Mexico many times and have tried everything from all inclusive to time shares and private residences --- and this house surpassed all previous experiences. This location is perfect. The town safe and welcoming.
This property is incredible. It is exactly as described. It was spacious, clean and had everything you needed. The owner was prompt with her reposnses and very helpful.
We did have a car for our entire stay but you could manage without a car as well.
The pool was so amazing and best part it is warm!!!!!
There is nothing I could say to fault this property.
You will absolutely not regret staying here.
We will be back

After three relaxing vacation stays in Josie’s beautiful place, my family all agree it is truly a little piece of Mexican heaven. Add sunny and warm, clear days to enjoy the pool, the local Mexican food which we can purchase close by and prepare in a well stocked kitchen, outdoor garden space to eat and relax, comfortable Mexican decor bedrooms and living area with electronic devices provided to listen to music or watch a movie all make for a relaxing vacation in a little village near the sea. Josie’s prompt communication and attention to detail make for a hassle free holiday and us wanting to return.

This was our second stay at this house, first time in 2019. So that should say a lot! House is exactly as described. It has absolutely everything you need for your stay. Including a fully stocked kitchen if you choose to cook. We always ate our breakfasts at the house and ventured out for our other meals. There’s lots of delicious choices all within walking distance.
The beach is a short walk (about 3 blocks) and is excellent for swimming and snorkeling, and lunch on the beach. It’s really nice that there’s a beach umbrella and a cooler for your use.
My husband and I with our 10 year old really enjoyed the house. Multiple spaces for relaxing. The palapa is the perfect place to read a book in the afternoon after spending the day at the beach. The pool is the perfect size, usually took a dip right after breakfast. Ricardo, the pool caretaker is super nice and speaks excellent English.
Communication the the owner is excellent. Had a bit of an issue with the laundry, but it was taken care of quickly. Overall this house is amazing.
The only negative thing I can say is that the roosters have no idea what time it is and they crow all night, the dogs across the street also bark almost non stop. But I believe this is a Mexico thing. There is a white noise machine in the bedrooms which helps. You do get use to it.
I would definatly recommend this place.

What a wonderful property! Very clean, fantastic communication with both the property manager Ricardo and the owner Jose, both of whom responded to our needs immediately every time. Coffee and patries were waiting for us when we arrived, so that we would be set up the next morning. a few essentials were in the cupboards already, all cooking items were available, nothing was broken, and everyone in our party had a wonderful time. Unknown bonus - There is a lime tree right outside the front gate!!
Highly recommend staying here if you want something relaxing, beautiful, and away from the usual tourist crowds.

This is a great place. It was super humid when we were there in June. The pool was amazing. Josefina was always willing to answer any question and returned I queries within minutes. Loved the place. A little time consuming to get back to Puerto Vallarta. Will be awesome when they finish the highway. Overall, awesome little home!

This was a home away from home. Everything about the property was so well laid out. As far as I’m concerned Josie thought of everything to make it comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and pillows, beautiful pool and we loved the top terrace. This property is walking distance to stores, shops, restaurants ,the beach( awesome to swim in) and taxi. We loved watching and listening to the birds including the roosters.
Overall our 2week stay was fantastic!

AMAZING property, an OASIS!
We had the most amazing stay at this property. Not only was it beautiful and welcoming but it was comfortable and so well appointed. The host was so generous with the amenities and small touches (shampoo! cooking supplies!) and we honestly felt like we were staying in the home of a good family friend. We made great use of all the beach items (towels, chairs, toys, umbrella) and spent quite a few great days at the nearby beaches. But we also found ourselves spending some awesome days at the villa, relaxing and enjoying the lovely patio, veranda and the best pool. The town of Los Ayala is incredibly charming, a very laid back and authentic beach town. Friendly and kind people. We loved exploring the surrounding area and also ventured out to Los Guayabitos, Sayulita and Chacala. But coming back each day to the comfort of the villa was icing on the cake! It was honestly one of the most incredible and comfortable properties we have been to. Thanks Josefina for your generosity and for sharing your home with us! We didn't want to leave!!!

This property was far beyond our expectations. The photos, while beautiful simply cannot do it justice. From the moment we arrived until the second we had to sadly leave we felt like royalty. Josie took care of any questions we had very promptly and like you would expect of a best friend. She is the most exceptional host our family could ever have hoped for. There were 5 of us consisting of 2 Grandparents, our son and his 2 children; one 9 and the other 11. The children spent every possible moment in the beautiful pool and the adults were permitted to join them from time to time. The bedrooms were perfect and private from each other providing us with wonderful sleeps. Every detail was carefully thought out and we felt like we only needed to arrive with our suitcases and buy some groceries and everything else was there. The villa was exceptionally clean and we loved the courtyard area with all the buildings surrounding it. The upstairs terrace was a retreat for any one of us to have some quiet time reading and simply having a break from all the activity.
We loved eating our meals on the beautifully carved dining table. I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this property. Thank you Josie for.the most incredible vacation. We would be honoured to stay in your beautiful villa again.

Our family of four (dad, mom, 11 year old son and 8 year old daughter) had the most memorable trip and stay at this property. Josie was great with communication/information, and was quick to respond to any pre-trip questions we had (no questions needed during the stay at this house).
The house was amazing! It was everything we could have imagined. The pictures give a great perspective of what to expect, they are real and when you walk in it feels like a personal resort. It had everything we needed, from cooking to swimming to the beach essentials – as stocked as we could ask for. And very clean! We could hardly get the kids to leave the pool. The layout was perfect and allowed for early morning or late night movement without waking everyone else up. Even had a social area on the roof with corn hole.
Lots of sounds come from all around the house. Birds, dogs, roosters, music, and some construction. None of it was imposing at all, and actually was very peaceful, relaxing and another part of the local experience we were hoping for and very much enjoyed.
The location was great, off the main roads with no traffic but very accessible. Just a couple blocks from the market of street vendors and a few blocks from the beach. Easy access to the main road to check out other areas. We explored Rincón de Guayabitos (really gets active after 9pm!), as well as Sayulita, Lo de Marcos, el Monteón, Bucerías and Punta Minta. Watch closely for the yellow parking lines or you may need to bail out your license plate from the policia in La Peñita de Jaltemba…
We enjoyed many fun activities, from horseback riding to fishing and hiking (ATV riding is also available). Exploring the local streets around Los Ayala and Guayabitos was a daily/nightly adventure we looked forward to and was a highlight of the trip. And we barely spent any time at the beach as we had so much fun in the surrounding areas! We fished out of both Punta Minta and Sayulita, and had great experiences both trips – full with whale sightings and other marine nature including dolphins, manta ray and sea turtles.
What else can we say?! The house, the people, the scenery, the activities, the beaches, the food, the adventures – it was an amazing trip and we enjoyed Mexico altogether (also stayed a few days south of Guadalajara).
Thank you again for helping to make this the most amazing family vacation possible! We look forward to coming back again

What can we say that has not been said yet? This property is beyond expectations! The kitchen is very functional and the inside lounging area is very comfortable for watching a movie. The bedroom and bathroom are perfect. The rooftop patio is delightful in the afternoon and so breezy. We had a lot a fun playing the corn bag toss! We also had a candlelit dinner up there. Friends came and visited from Guayabitos and stayed in the Casita for a night and loved it. But the crown jewel is the pool. Just amazing!! We enjoyed it every day and then some.
Josie is the best host we have ever encountered in our VRBO experiences and her local support team is very helpful. So responsive and eager to make us as comfortable as possible.
We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back again. Simply a beautiful and unforgettable experience.

Best vacation ever
A piece of paradise....a true taste of Mexico in this gorgeous vacation home. A perfect holiday place for 2 couples with separate rooms that are spacious and funky. A few minutes walk to lots of shops to buy your groceries and the bus is down the road to go to Guayabitos or La Penita. The pool is the highlight and we enjoyed it day and night and didn't feel the need to go to the beach. Josie is an amazing owner and answered all our questions promptly and was each to reach right from the get go. We loved all the little extras from the well stocked kitchen to the pool toys, clocks, sound machine in the bedroom, batteries, sun tan lotion and so much more that made it feel like being at home. We can't say enough good things about this place and the relaxed/fun atmosphere it provides. We highly recommend Casa La Jolla.

Casa La Jolla is an absolute gem. The property was immaculate in every way and we were delighted at the attention to detail. Seriously, the home was equipped with everything imaginable. Movies, books, fans, heaters, pool accessories, laundry, outdoor shower. You name it, it was there. There was nothing lacking — the kitchen was totally equipped, linens were fresh and the bedding quite comfortable. The heated pool was one of the best aspects of Casa La Jolla. The home is located in the foothills of Playa los Ayala just a short walk to the beach. We there over a national holiday weekend and the beach was quite crowded, as expected. However, there are several accessible beach communities just a short drive away. Casa La Jolla will definitely be on our list of places to return.
Regards.

Lovely retreat in a small beach town
The property is all that is advertised, with a gracious and helpful host for any questions. The house is well laid out for two couples with common areas and places for quiet time. The pool is one of the best we've enjoyed in the many places we've stayed, up and down the coast. The rooms are very comfortable, all amenities thoughtfully available. The kitchen is, by far, the best stocked, with all conveniences that we appreciated for our week-long stay.
The beaches, beach restaurants, jungle walks/hikes, all of it, are as one would hope for a vacation at a small, beach town in Mexico, still comparatively unspoiled by intensive foreign tourism - most of the beach tourists we met were from larger cities in Mexico, all having as wonderful a time as our group. It was so special to stay in a beautiful home like this and delight in the property and surrounding town.

This place was amazing. Every little detail was taken care of. The pictures don't do it justice
Everything in the pictures is accurate. This place is truly magical. It has everything you think you will need and something's you haven't even thought of. The yard and greenery is well take care of and lush. The pool was clean and a nice temperature so those night time dips are perfect. You are so close to town and with the wagon is makes it easy to get groceries and supplies. We actually ended up spending a few days not leaving at all just lounging by the pool and playing cornhole on the rooftop. The beds were comfortable and the showers were hot although you don't really need it. We couldnt say enough good things about this place. Josie was super helpful with recommendations and fast to respond with any questions. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Our stay at Casa La Jolla was fantastic. Josie was simply amazing.
We found the serenity we had been dreaming of when we walked through the door at Casa La Jolla. Nestled in the unbelievably charming town of Los Ayala, Casa La Jolla is an utterly fantastic place to rid yourself of all the pressure and stress we try to leave behind when we go on vacation The house is immaculate, and it has everything you'll ever need for your stay, no matter the length of your trip. The pool with soaking tub will leave you speechless and totally invigorated. Josie (the property owner) is a godsend. She responded within minutes and had answers for every question we had. Casa La Jolla is so well equipped however, you won't need for anything.
The town of Los Ayala and neighboring area of Rincon de Guayabitos are quiet, family friendly, warm and inviting The street side shops and dining and the beach overflowing with families enjoying the year round warm weather are things everyone should experience.
We had an amazing time and can't wait to return.
Thank you Josie, we'll be back.

Absolute Oasis
Casa La Jolla was everything we expected and more! Josie, the owner, was quick to respond to any questions I had. The property was an absolute oasis. My husband and I even skipped several excursions we had planned because we enjoyed relaxing in the pool and recharging our batteries. The kitchen was fully equipped to make any meal you could imagine. The living room had a great DVD selection when we needed a small break from the sun. The bed was super comfortable and the shower amazing with excellent water pressure. A wagon was provided with all the amenities to take to the beach. If you're looking for any amazing getaway look no further. This is it!
