Location, style
Needs some refurbishment throughout, outside appearance poor
4.3
Clean, modern, excellent position, good parking.
Bedroom seating. Quirky loungers too low for me to use and one plastic type chair which was very uncomfortable. Awkward step in the bathroom. Expensive bar prices.
4.3
The location was lovely.Sea front room amazing.Expensive but a wonderful experience.
Breakfast was average
Staff nice
Price was expensive if there were more offers 6and7⁷ I would come a lot more often

My friend and I booked thos hotel because we had always wanted to visit. As soon as we walked through the door, it was lovely. Very clean and well presented, very characterful. The staff were all very young but extremely professional and helpful and everything was explained well.
The room was big, clean and beautiful. Well equipped and clean with a stunning sea view.
We went down to the bar for a couple of drinks and food and service was quick and efficient. Also with a lovely view.
The beds were really comfortable and I slept like a log.
Breakfast was a buffet style start then table service for hot food. Again, quick and efficient and very nice, well presented.
A fantastic experience and we will be back!
I work in the industry so know to manage expectations, especially if it's somewhere you've always wanted to go. No need here. It's wonderful. I can't say enough about these young staff. No standing around chatting, as you might expect at least a little of. Very smart and can't do enough for you. We'll done all round and thanks for a lovely time.
Nothing

Liked the styling of the hotel, but prices of drinks were astronomical; £17.50 for a large wine plus a rum and coke!
The wardrobe was of a design I'd never seen before. The rail/hangers were 8ft. high and were pulled down by a steel rod; just ridiculous!
4.3
Quirky room but very interesting. Enjoyed balcony and sea view. Good choice for breakfast. Very enjoyable meal on Sunday evening
While some of the staff were very efficient and attentive others would benefit from a little more training.

We were upgraded and the room was lovely with a view out to sea. Pity we were only staying one night.
We were lucky and had good weather, so could walk out on the promenade and onto Happy mount Park.
The breakfast was included and was very nice. No complaints and they do cater for dietary needs if one asks.
We paid for our evening meal which was no more expensive than other venues we have eaten in. The standard of the
cuisine was excellent.
Dining room was breakfast room was social room was relaxation room. A place this size should have a relaxing area for guests who are booked into the hotel. To be able to have a quiet drink and chat and enjoy the sea view.
Dogs should not be allowed into the restaurant. There should be a specified area for those with dogs who want to eat with their dogs. I am a dog owner and lover. I just think its not fair on those who are not or who do not want to eat where dogs have been. Maybe in a bar, not in a restaurant. I don't like looking up at a ceiling and seeing paint coming off or wood stuck in the beams and the conservatory roof covered in seagull poop. I know its a problem. It should be cleaned off.

Expensive bar

Breakfast was very good and food delivered very quickly. The location is amazing. How wonderful to wake up to the sound of the water in the bay lapping the rocks beneath the window.
I was used to the Midland being renowned for fine dining and that art deco vibe. It is a shame this hasn't been retained. It is now just a nice hotel as opposed to being a high class, different hotel.
4.3
I love the character of this hotel it was a location for the TV series Poirot, but of course the rooms are now modernised and comfortable the sea view rooms are Fabolous but worth the upgrade. From check in to check out the staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant gets busy so ensure you book if you want a window view.
I love that its Dog friendly though I don't bring my dogs to work!
There really is nothing not to like I'd stay here again at every opportunity If there was anything not to like i could honestly say its leaving.

Staff were excellent. Room was excellent. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Location was excellent.
The only thing that let the holiday down was the afternoon tea we had booked. I felt the £30 per person was too expensive for what we got, and I also had to go and find someone to ask for more tea, as did the other diners on the next two tables. I could have had a better evening meal in the restaurant for less money.
4.3
The breakfast room had the most magnificent views. The breakfast was also excellent.
No problems at all

Had an upgrade - fantastic room with views over Morecambe Bay. Large room, balcony and bath positioned to give those lovely views.
Hotel exceptionally clean, lovely dining area with views, really friendly and helpful staff. Cannot fault it. A wonderful stay.
Absolutely nothing.

Bedroom was warm bed very comfy. Evening meal was lovely, well presented and the staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast the same
The weather - it rained!

Love The Midland. Central. Beautiful.Nice helpful staff.
Waited ages to order breakfast and we were on a schedule so were running late then. The hollandaise didn't taste of anything. The hotel has changed service since we last stayed. It feels like any other hotel now. Having to queue to order food
4.3
Amazing building , lovely staff, fantastic views
Too hot at night, generator noise going all night, evening meal poor
4.3
My room was very nice with lovely sea views lots of toiletries wasn’t sure about booking table for myself as it was the first time been away alone
The breakfast was disappointing specially the cooked breakfast the bacon was dried not many staff to help
4.3
Buffet breakfast -granola bars!
I just like staying at The Midland.
The white 'tree' coat stand was missing from my room. Have these been removed from all the rooms?
The vanity boxes were not available in the bathrooms. This is difficult with the 'rain shower' if there is no shower cap. A very helpful receptionist found me one in the store room.

Stunning views over Morecambe Bay, beautiful room too, 312.

The room was fabulous although no dressing gowns in room which at the price we paid was a bit of a surprise. Lovely comfortable bed. The staff are very friendly.
Carpet in corridor to our room is starting to look a bit worn. The hotel used to do fabulous dinners in their restaurant and as it was our 40th wedding anniversary, we were looking forward to having a lovely dinner. However, the week before, the hotel changed their restaurant set up. Gone was table service, gone were the table cloths, gone was the fabulous menu which was replaced with their Rotunda Bar menu which was just like a limited pub menu and to order you had do go to the bar to do this. Such a shame - it ruined our wedding anniversary treat - we may as well have gone to the local pub for a meal instead. As this is a prestigious hotel to stay at, I think this change to their restaurant will have an adverse effect on their clientele (we heard a few negative comments from other guests about the change).
4.3
It is an Art Deco gem with lots of clever features in the room. Breakfast is in a ‘winter garden’ with wonderful views across the bay.
The views from the room are superb and knowing my interest in the architecture, the staff showed me a mural in the conference room not on general public view.
Breakfast fruit salad was a little unripe.
There was Wind noise through the bedroom window but the position of the hotel makes it vulnerable to weather which was very windy when I stayed there.

Loved decor
fresh coat of external paint. Poor township

Food was excellent, a very pleasant place to stay
Not a lot of facilities if on a longer stay, no swimming pool/sauna. But no complaints generally.

View across the sea
Breakfast was great, an where you you were sat for meals. Staircase was stunning. Staff smiley and pleasant. Rooms were warm, and clean. To wake an see that view was beautiful. Sunset was amazing. Balcony rooms were great with the view across.
The rain spoilt our sitting out but you could sit inside, an smell the sea air. Room 120 was a little uneasy, didn't sleep till 4.30am when daylight was breaking, had to keep lights on, dark was dark, quiet was quiet, uneasy feeling in there.
4.3
It's such a stylish and elegant hotel , built to impress, but it has a comfortable appeal. Very nice room. Lovely toiletries. Comfy bed. Great shower. Good food, nicely served. Amazing views over the sea. Wonderful art by Gill and Ravilious.
Nothing. I loved it. Sooner or later, the exterior will need some attention, but the interior is gorgeous.

Beautiful location, lovely views from the restaurant. Breakfast was good. Also enjoyed evening meal in the restaurant.
Meal in the restaurant was quite expensive and quite small portions especially the starter of pan fried mackerel.
4.3
Stayed there a number of times.location is one of its attractions.
The normal good quality of catering seems have deteriorated as far as the speed of service. Waiting between courses was at times over an hour.

The staff were very helpful and friendly

Loved our weekend there, the hotel is beautiful, rooms so clean, bed comfortable, food brilliant, staff excellent, especially the reception ladies, nothing was too much trouble, thank you.
Needs a good paint job outside, looking tired inside which is such a shame but still beautiful, we ate in the restaurant in full sun, perhaps air con now should be installed due to changing weather, but we definitely will be back later in the year, wonderful stay.
