We stayed only 1 night and the place was nice. In a good location, self-served kitchen and nice staff.
4.5
Strong wifi throughout. Smooth and professional check-in. The Male staff member spoke English well and gave good tips about what to do and see in the area. The dorm room was clean and spacious. Mattresses weren't amazing, but they were ok.
I only stayed there my final night in Punta del Este but I wish I had have stayed there from the beginning. It was far better than the hostel I stayed at first.
The toilets and showers in the male bathroom really need lockable doors.

This place is about LOCATION. It is about two blocks away from the bus terminal and it is a 15min walk to playa brava. Staff is kind and helpful - bearing in mind that they cannot change the infrastructure of hostel. Staff kept my bag in the luggage room after check out as requested and I had no problems picking it up. The 6-female room had a bathroom with two showers - which I really appreciate. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes around to get breakfast or lunch. Overall, the common areas were good and comfortable.
The hostel does not fit in to the overall standards I expected from a hostel charging the price it did - almost USD for 2 nights. I stayed in a 6-female only room (room 15 to be more precise). This room smells a bit of dust and has a lot humidity in some of the wood structure of the beds. When I pointed it out to the receptionist, she just replied that it was the smell of the room. From that, I knew I couldn't ask much from staff. The air conditioner was working, however, it look like it hasn't seen a professional technician in a while, considering the machine had no shell/cover at all - all machinery was exposed and dusty. This air conditioner does not have a remote either, so staff needed to get one from a different room from time to time or get a stool to climb up and turn the air conditioner on. The mattress was super worn out, but they were not uncomfortable. They were fine for a 2-nights stay. The doors of the fridges in the kitchen were starting to hang when opened and one of them had an old piece of lettuce/or something likewise frozen in its wall - which means it has been a while it was cleaned. The kitchen wasn't really clean overall. Even though cleaning the kitchen after use is everyone's responsibility - I totally agree, it didn't look that there were any professional or staff cleaning happening there from time to time or, at least, it didn't happen regularly when I was there. And if it did, it wasn't a good one. Some kitchen utensils needed a replacement - some were "melted" or partly broken. For this reason, I tried to cook and just gave up right way. Overall, the building needs a bit of remodeling and paint, the disposition of lights and plugs is quite bad for both rooms and common areas. It just feels that everything in the building was done or fixed by non-professionals with "quick fixes" that became "permanent non fixes".

Location is superb. Private rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable and overall warm for the colder months. There's cold/hot air conditioning in the rooms.
Breakfast was fantastic at the bakery next door, definitely recommend trying some of the delicacies that they have there
Close to great restaurants, Los Dedos, Casino and other attractions of Punta.
There's "private" street parking around the corner
Bathroom could be a little bit better, but shower was strong and hot.

The fridge in the kitchen was a bit messy - but nothing too bad

The location was very good and the owner was very caring.
The fotos looks better than reality. There is a reason why there are no bathroom fotos.

Location and Staff
The shower in the bathroom was not working properly and we had trouble with the hot water

Great location near beach and bus station. Cheap price at $6.30. Staff were friendly.
Place seems a bit run down. Room smelled mouldy. Tiny shower that flooded the rest of the bathroom. Toilet seat broken. I was there in low season so there was only a bit of noise at night as bar wasn't open yet but this is a party hostel so I'd say in high season there is noise till late.
