desayuno bien, trato exquisito, entorno ideal, instalaciones extraordinarias
4.5 / 5.0

Beautiful old mansion, full of books & art. Warm, friendly welcome from Ana. Charming garden. Perfect situation. Ana gave us excellent directions to find the place. We thought it may have a ghost, but after all, any decent palace should have one.
We loved it all. But if only it had been the season for the outdoor pool.

Everything about the palace is exceptional: a historic building that is charming, wonderfully decorated, beautifully kept up.

Anna was a lovely and friendly hostess.
Booking.com ought to cease from promoting this hotel as with a swimming pool and associated facilities. The water is a deeper shade of green with an overgrown garden. The hotel is exceptionally difficult to find if driving by car.

From the first minute one steps in, one is stepping back in time. You are practically staying in what can be called a "casa-museo" (a museum-home). a renovated 16th century palace with a huge collection of books and an eclectic collection of art. A unique experience by all means. After checking all the rooms (we were the only guests), we chose superior one, and highly recommend you do the same. These rooms are really amazing (so are the standard ones - no worries).

A lovely environment in a small hotel with fantastic internal and external spaces to relax. Ana was very welcoming and friendly. The pool and garden was a peaceful haven and I personally found it hard to leave the hotel even with the pull of lovely Trujillo to explore. For once in our trip, there was no piped music at the pool (hurray!).
It would be a bonus to be able to get a cup of tea during the day.

My husband and I were welcomed like long lost friends by Anna who is full of local knowledge, super friendly and helpful. She is the perfect host. the Palacio is beautiful, full of interesting artefacts and curios. it is kept superbly clean by Anna and her wonderful, friendly husband. It is situated in the best part of Trujillo, close to the castle and Plaza Major. We stayed for 4 nights and would highly recommend Palacio Chaves. Huge thank you to Anna for her wonderful hospitality.
If I had anything to say it would be that I would love coffee making facilities in the rooms. It wasn’t an issue it’s just I love a cup of coffee on waking. a very personal thing and I have to admit it doesn’t seem to be a ‘thing’ in Spain.

absolutely stunning palace, beautifully decorated with attention to detail. Super friendly and welcoming host made us feel comfortable and gave us a tour of the place. Great breakfast, amazing location, a true gem. If I could, I’d rate this place 11, at least.
Can’t think of a single thing, everything was just perfect.

There are few words to describe this hotel, it was truly an honour to stay in it. The room was very big with its own sitting room, spotless and very quiet with amazing views. The hotel grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. The interior of the hotel with its library, various sitting rooms was filled with books, statues, paintings. It was just lovely.
Nothing just perfect

The beautiful, interesting 16th century house.
Anna, but she went on holiday on our 2nd day!
Spaciousness of bedroom and a lounge area.
Pool surrounded by garden.
The breakfasts. The lack of handrails on some of the stone stairs. Low doorways in our bedroom. WATCH YOUR HEAD! Difficulty with bedroom door lock, because of the stone wall so close to lock. The lack of handrail to assist elderly into the swimming pool. No toilet by the pool. No restaurants open, nearby. Difficulty parking, nearby. To reach Plaza Mayor, to eat, had to walk down a steep cobbled road. Not a hotel for the elderly!!

The location and the staff. The palace is very charming located right in the heart of the old town. If you love reading, this could be you spot. There are many books at the hotel. It is just a few steps to the cathedral and the castle. Anna and her husband were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for having us. We wish we could stay longer. Till next time, take care and stay safe.

We had a wonderful welcome by Anna, who addressed me by my name, even though we were early. Throughly enjoyed our historical tour of the property and the garden is a dream. The room could be described as a suite and was large and comfortable. The free toiletries exquisite. So much so I packed them all to take home with me. I shall be recommending this property to all my friends.
Breakfast is served not buffet. Once again Anna sees to all your needs and we even had eggs cooked to order.
An absolutely wonderful stay.
There is nothing about this property not to like. However if you are not good with stairs book a ground floor room.
