Casa Anita, is located in an ideal spot to town. It's 7 minutes to the beach once you find the short cut. There's a convenience store 2 minutes away for basic groceries and snacks etc.
This place is real Mexico, it is charming and quaint, we loved the old school vibe it has, rather than the starchy modern hotels and resorts.
The pool was very clean and refreshing, there's laundry available, the views from this place are amazing. We got to see the fireworks every night from the nearby resorts.
The staff where very friendly and accommodating.
It is located right on the main highway, because of that it is very noisy from 6am to about 11pm. Take ear plugs.
This road is also difficult to cross if you are not used to dealing with traffic, there are no rules and no one stops at the nearby crosswalk.
The beds are hard, some of them do have a foam topper, these are much better, request for one if you book here. The pull out couch is for the kids only. You will break your back if you try to sleep on it. The mattresses for these couches need replacing. Our kids didn't complain though.
There's Coatimundis visiting every night, if the trash can is left outside, they will wake you up. Speak to the reception to have it put away if the maintenance/ cleaner guys leaves it out.
There's lots of steps to get to the rooms and patios, we didn't mind, but if you have a hard time walking, this place is not for you.

View from the patio over the bay was great. Cleaning staff were good
106 stairs to our room. We do eggs in the morning and there was no spatula to use with frying pan. Very low water pressure, sometimes not hot for shower.

Good location
The stiff bed and uncomfortable couch and no AC

Had an amazing stay at Casa Anita. My room was awesome, the staff were incredible, the location was perfect.
There are a lot of stairs, but the view is well worth it! Can wait to stay here again.

Once we had a look at the two rooms, we decided we could not stay there. The rooms were very shabby: sagging beds with stained bedspreads. chair and sofas were old and frayed. one room's balcony had bars on the balcony. No elevator - luggage had to be carried up several steep, narrow stone stairways. Photos on the website are VERY mis-leading. Do not stay here! We left without staying, loosing our room fees.

Nice city and ocean views
Believe the reviews that there are 100+ steep stairs to climb to get to your room. That's after walking almost 1/2 mile up a grade from the beach to even get to the resort. Unless you like participating in an episode of "the Biggest Looser", you might want to find a resort with an elevator or closer to the ocean. Also, be careful as there are several descriptions of the rooms saying they have A/C, but we found out on arrival that our room did not, and if we wanted a room with A/C, they would charge us $10/day more (which you DEFINITELY need to have). Although the price of this resort my seem appealing, look elsewhere for a better experience.

The hotel is being reno'd only the small 8' diameter dipping pool was available. The staff was very courteous and responsive.. housekeeping was spot on. Interior rooms and furniture in need of upgrades... likely not to happen soon because owner is selling. Based on conditions this is a 2.5 star property, not a three.
Owner needs to reinvest in furniture, towels etc...rooms were clean but outdated decor etc. White LED bulbs less warm and hospitable.

The room was very roomy and always kept very clean by the staff. Our room had an excellent view of the bay where we saw dolphins and whales swimming in the early morning. The hotel was just a short walk down to the beach and the restaurants.
It would have been helpful if there was an elevator or some kind of a hand cart to take our luggage up to our room. If you have mobility issues all the stairs. Outdoor be an issue for you.It would have been nice if the pools were heated. The price of the unit seemed to be a little high.

The location and balconies
The fans were not enough, the room was outdated and gloomy.

Ivan at reception was attentive and helpful. The views were quite nice. I enjoyed the old style rooms. The kitchens were well stocked. I liked the cats there. Check in and check out were very good as well. I lked the flowers.
The stairs were a pain in the neck. The price was a bit steep. The WiFi was poor and difficult to log in. The traffic was a bit loud. it could have been a bit cleaner. There were bars on the windows.

nothing it was absolutely terrific!

The view from my balcony was fantastic. The bed was comfortable. Bath was clean. Nice little kitchen, but I did not use it except for the microwave which worked fine. The cleaning staff were delightful and friendly.
At first I was told the internet in my room would not work. I voiced my disappointment and said I would not have booked there had I known the internet would not work in my room as advertised. The fellow at the desk gave me a "special" number so I had internet in my room! Interesting.

location is in a good area
The property needs better Wifi

130 steps from the street to my room. But once you got there it was a terrific view.
The internet connection was constantly fading in and out. I would call this very irritating for what I needed to do while staying here. Getting across the street took an act of god eith nonstop traffic.

Location was perfect, it was walking distance to the beach and many restaurants.

Very clean bedroom and common area.
I thought I wouldn't like sharing a bathroom, but it was not with many people and was very clean.

great location near the beach. amazing views. very friendly and helpful staff
lots and lots of stairs; wouldn’t recommend if you have mobility issues. Wi-Fi is very poor so if it is required during your stay I would recommend somewhere else

Terrific location with a view. While it's a walk up the hill from the beach, we enjoyed looking at the sunset from our room every night. The staff were very friendly and responsive to our needs.
The WiFi was non-existent. I had to purchase a mobile WiFi service through an independent service. The hotel can benefit from adding direct lines to each room and setting up a dedicated router. The kitchen was fair but we would have enjoyed a few extra appliances.
