Prachtige ligging. Familiale sfeer. Eigenaars. Historisch karakter. Natuur.

Buena ubicacion, trato cordial.

Location was fabulous, lovely properly and grounds. A proper hotel with lovely owner hosts and excellent customer service. Lovely dining room with very nice food
Our room was a bit small but very nice

The location was amazing! Staff is very friendly. They have a lot of options for outdoor activities, including a rowing boat (that you can take out for free). If you want to hike, the owners will offer you recommendations on the best routes around the hotel and further.
Room had a sitting area and was comfortable (despite the beds being a bit soft for our liking).
Dinner was quite expensive but delicious.
The angle of shower was a bit awkward. Toilet was a bit loose.

Buffet breakfast was amazing! Views are breathtaking of the glaciers, lakes, and mountains. They offer a free boat that you can take out to the lake. Room is very clean, cute, and comfortable. Free parking is available on the site. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Lorentz is amazing, thanks for your kindness and all your help. This place has been around since 1896, and I love the preservation of the buildings and it's so aesthetically pleasing. I love that they had an toy area for kids upon entrance to the building. It's very inviting and accommodating. Laundry service is available. There's tea/coffee available at all times in the reception area. Wished I had stayed longer to enjoy more of the amenities and stay. Great location and valuable price! Thank you!
Nothing, everything was great!

We had two breakfasts and two dinners during our two night stay at Hotel Hjelle. The breakfasts offered cereal, eggs, bacon, yogurt with fruit and granola toppings, cheeses, ham, salami, pate, and salmon/other fish. There was something for everyone's palate, and everything we had was well prepared and very tasty. We had fish for dinner both nights, but there was also a dish of reindeer, which was liked by those who had it. The meals were top notch in flavor and presentation. The homemade sorbet was wonderful.
Gamle Strynefjellsvegen is one of the wonderful tourist roads in Norway, and it starts about 12 km from Hotel Hjelle. We enjoyed this mountaintop old road, took lots of photos, and would recommend it to everyone during your stay at this hotel.

clean, quiet, good location but only if it is on a way to your next destination, delicious breakfast (but no pastries, no waffles or pancakes)
warning: no TV in the room! No elevator! Only small sink in the bathroom!
Main building is very old (but renovated ) , overpriced hotel

Quiet, idyllic location at the end of an exquisite mountain lake. Although the rooms were on the small side, they were thoughtfully laid out with sufficient electrical outlets, places to hand things, and a good-sized bathroom.
We had dinner at the hotel. It was good but not up to the standard of other places in Norway we have stayed.

The views here were stunning. By far the prettiest hotel we stayed in Norway. The staff were incredible. They even helped us inflate a flat car tire with their air pressure machine. The rooms were clean and cozy, and breakfast amazing! I would absolutely recommend a stay here.

we loved the family run nature of this historic lodging. The location with beautiful, scenic views with very close to the water. we wish we had planned for more time there and in Hjelle. we had a nice breakfast included, and good homemade dinner that we paid extra for.
Little room for clothes or personals — due to historic nature of building.
