Overall, it was a poor experience:
- We were charged €15 for the parking, even though it said on the description it's free.
- There was no soap in the bathrooms/kitchen, even though it was one of the more expensive stays in the area.
- The apartment was cleaned alright, but our balcony wasn't cleaned for weeks. So when we opened it, the wind blew in all the dirt.
- The check-in is two kilometres away from the location.
- The kitchen was not equipped, it didn't even have any glasses.
- The air condition was broken and did not really cool the room.
- The receptionist knocked already 15 minutes ahead of the check-out time at the door and asked us to leave.

I got a text massage before the arrival with just an address. Didn’t look it up but thought it was the address for the hotel. They asked me to give a notice before I arrived and I did. When we came there I got a new text message which said that the hotel was closed, and they asked me to go to a new place instead. They said it was a 10 min walk but actually it was 20 min and we had really heavy bags. Not a very good experience. The other hotel room had ugly lightning and not cozy at all. But I guess it was ok. Close to the bus station (even though we booked Ankavi because we wanted to be close to the railway station….).

Very clean, a lot of space and very nice people.

clean, people are nice
it was not exactly as from picture, and it was a little bit cold in the room

Excellent located, with a nice inner yard and very big rooms, it ia an excellent choice. We stayed in a family suite, huge spaces and everithing you need. A full size fridge, good beds, even the sofa, 3 layer windows for enhanced sound insulation (the tram could be noisy for sensible people) are among the highlits. You can choose inner yard rooms if you have a problem with street noises
Could be a little warmer in the room. The temp control unit is not going to make a difference.
Rooms should be visit daily by house keeper, at least for garbage bin emptying
Breakfast option would be bnice also

Not had the chance to say I liked because when we arrived we were told our room was not available because of Booking "crash", although we had the confirmation. They arranged for us to go to a pantio.
We arrived with the kids and were told that there are no rooms available. They accommodate to go to a pantio. We did not had any options as it was late and we were with kids.

Wonderful, big rooms. Thank you.

All in all, superb, no more words. I liked the place a lot. And the reception guy was cool. Easy to find the place and so comfy and clean
The noise. There is a tram line in front of the hostel which makes a weird sometimes annoying noise while it's running. But it's pretty ignorable

Very close to the city center. Rooms are large, bathrom is large.
For the people who have a light sleep: the location is situated on a boulevard, and there is a tram on the bulevard, so it can get quite noisy, at least for the rooms facing the street.

Location
Before the trip I was contacted by the staff that we were transferred to another hotel "Szent Janos" which is in the same ownership but in a better location. As the reservation was "non-refundable", we accepted because the location suited us. Upon arrival at the hotel 31st December we were shocked. The room was bad smelling and quite cold, although we were 3 hours late from the check-in time, which means they had time to turn on the heating and raise the temperature as well. The bathroom was even colder and when we wanted to take a shower, there was no hot water at all. The hot water only arrived after a couple of hours.

Hotel really has great staff. The key of Hotel Ankavi needs to be picked up at the mother hotel Szent Janos in the city center - as this was a bit complicated to us, we were offered by Zsolt from the staff to stay at Szent Janos hotel which is in the city center for the same price. That was really exceptional hospitality!
Cleanliness and breakfast could be better for a 4-star hotel.

The lady from reception did not know English at all, but she handed over to someone over the phone that could understand and speak English. Later that day, there was another person at the reception, and the guy was polite and helped us quickly with the air conditioning. Before leaving, he also helped with explaining how we can retrieve the bill (very nice and good level of English).
The room was not clean at all- a lot of dust in the drawers (only the bathroom was clean and with all facilities). On the balcony, the couch was also full of dust and it looked like no one cleaned it for ages- too bad, because the balcony was fairly large and it has a nice view over the trees and street.
Secondly, when I made the check in, the lady from the reception told me that I have to pay 127 euro for 1 night (initially, the price for the room was 113 euro on booking confirmation email, then they confirmed 125 euro and at the check in the lady asked 127 euro). I found after 2 days that the final price was 125 euro because we had the check in 1 hour earlier. It was my mistake not reading the policy for the early check in, but I think it is poor service to ask for 3 different prices without explaining or apologizing for making a mistake.
First bed was comfortable, second bed should be replaced entirely and it is old and not comfortable at all

The location was fine. It is a clean hotel and the staff member who spoke English was quite helpful.
I had booked for 3 adults and expected 3 separate beds as indicated in the website; however, there was one comfortable double bed, an uncomfortable fold out sofa and a very uncomfortable cot which we asked for as the third bed.
There was no microwave, nor any pots to cook with despite there being a stove. There was no dish soap and no extras to make this place worth the cost of staying there. We stayed 3 nights and there was no hotel service - we had to ask for extra toilet paper.
There is a car park, but that is not included in the price.
After our arrival we never saw anyone at the front desk. When we arrived we collected our key from a different hotel.
The hotel has potential; however, they need to work on providing more than just very basic provisions and ensuring there is someone available at the hotel for service.

The rooms are large and comfortable, kitchen as well, airconditioned, with terrace and terrace furniture. We slept well, beds were comfortable.
The hotel was closed due to low number of bookings in the time of Corona. This meant we had to pick up our keys and potentially have breakfast in the sister hotel which was not really close. Our rooms were very dusty, terrace as well. It all wasn’t really ready for guests. The kitchen had 2-3 cups, 4 plates, 1 bowl, 4-5 glasses, one big knife and 4-5 small spoones. It didn’t have the basics, we needed as a family with small children. I like to believe that the hotel is generally better maintained wenn it is open. However, the truth is, there was no information that there are restrictions to the booking.

Could be cleaner! Specially in Covid times a big disadvantage! The towels were dirty!
