The hotel was beautiful and so cute tucked off the road with nice greenery all around it. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful to us. There was a small playground for the kids which they also loved. Views from the room of the hillside and surrounding greenery were wonderful.

Fantastic restaurant. Great place to get away for the weekend. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

I liked the traditional German atmosphere whilst also having lovely well sized modern rooms (they must have been refurbished recently, the rooms & bathroom were ‘brand new’)
Had a nice evening with a buffet and wine tasting.

Very nice hotel in the middle of the Saarwein area with a great restaurant, including a calm terrace. 50 m away from the Saarriver and with a lot of hiking trails starting from the hotel itself.

Beautiful place, stunning location and wonderful food.
The majority of staff were absolutely & completely ignorant!
This is the 1st time I have ever fault a 2nd class citizen as I was clearly not a local or lived in this country.
From the moment we stepped through the door and was constantly ignored at the reception desk & staff walking past us all the time.
Experienced the same treatment again whilst waiting forever for our order to be taken in the resturant. Many guests that had been sitted after us all had there orders takens before us as well as drinks.
Treatment by the receptionist the following morning again the same. We explained we were going for breakfast & would be leaving straight afterwards so handed her our room keys.
An hour later when we were 10 miles away recieved a call to say we hadn't paid!!! A misunderstanding as thought it was pre paid via booking.com but checked & it wasn't. They wanted us to return to pay & was very rude about it. I did ask why she hadn't mentioned this when we handed the keys in? No response. Again when we left the reception was unmanned so no way of double checking.
I asked if she could take payment over the phone from me to which she said no as they were waiting for a new machine that could take weeks but strange that we had paid for our evening meal in the restaurant by card the night before!!!
When I informed her of this she said she would try but may take 2-3 weeks for the payment to come out of my bank.
I did say of any problems then booking.com hold my card details.so to contact them also I reminded them to perhaps ensure there reception desk was always manned for the sake of the customers to avoid any Confusion in future or to remind the customer when checking in!!!!!
Never never again.......!

We had a 2 room apartment for 2 adults and 2 kids.
+ The apartment was clean and spacious.
+ The location was excellent, we could do hikes in the countryside or walk to the town Saarburg along the Saar river.
+ The staff was friendly, giving us tips and maps about activities in the area
+ The dinner at the restaurant hotel was fabulous, and the wine selection good and reasonably priced. We had very good Riesling from the neighboring wine estate, which belongs to the owner’s brother.
+ If you don’t finish your bottle of wine they keep it for you for dinner the next day.
+ Pretty and well-maintained property gardens
+ They have a kids playground which my kids throughly enjoyed
+ They had special soap and shampoo for kids in the bathroom.
+ Breakfast had a large selection of local organic produce.
The only thing that I missed was smoked salmon / smoked trout and more hot options (e.g. mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes) at the breakfast buffet.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable with excellent pillows. Generally a nice friendly atmosphere in the hotel. The breakfast was very good. Lots of choice including freshly squeezed orange juice and a great selection of breads. The restaurant is closed Tuesdays, the day we arrived. We were offered the wine tasting evening which comprised 5 wines to try which were made on the premises, water and a very good buffet supper all for 30 euros.
The decor in the room we had was a bit outdated but it was clean and everything worked fine. No aircon but as the location was rural it was OK to have the windows open at night as there was no traffic noise. I think they were maybe short staffed but the service in the restaurant on the Wednesday night was rather slow.

From the very second we entered the hotel we felt at home thanks to the great welcome and nice atmosphere. The rooms are nicely furnished (almost Nordic style), there is a locked parking lot and a great restaurant where we enjoyed a very delicious asparagus menu.
It’s not that we didn’t like this - but being very interested in wines, we did miss a wine card a bit. But we enjoyed the idea of being suggested the wines and we also tasted some very nice wines. So, all in all a really good experience. Thanks for that.

it was impeccably clean with a brand new lovely luxury bathroom. on the landings was a fridge and tea and coffee facility for guests to use
it was not as cosy and traditional inside, as the outside photographs might suggest - to me, it had more of a corporate feel, which was not quite what we hoped. The restaurant and service were pretty mediocre, which was a disappointment. We travelled a good long way to stay there, as the photos looked so delightful, but it certainly isn’t worthy of a destination. But a good comfortable overnight stop.

Quiet location. Excellent restaurant. Always great to sit outside when the weather is kind. Good German beer and wine and an excellent three course meal.
Nothing to complain about really. I just wish we had stayed a couple of nights and explored an area I always seem to just pass through. Next time!
